Rooms could definitely use a makeover, pretty drab. Found staff mostly helpful, like everywhere some are incredibly engaged, they clearly take their time there and responsibility to patients and the family seriously. Others are kind of meh. You can tell they are either stressed or simply disengaged from all of it. The head nurse with the long braid is really attentive and u like that you get greeted when you get checked in. It helps having a human faq to get info from. Only thing that really could use work is the food. My dad kind of hates it. My favorite part is they are super animal friendly, taking my dog without grief is killer.

Not enough staff to provide adequate care. My husband had to lay in filth because it took so long for a CNA to arrive. Some were kind but others were rough. Not the care I wanted for my loved one. So sorry I ever put him in there.

Horrible experience for my Mother. I would tell anyone to absolutely not send anybody you care about to this facility. We thought she was dying, but once we got her out of there she rebounded and is great. One aid I would say was on the verge of elderly abuse. We were told she was being given all her medications which was not true, the rehab was laughable. One day a relative was there all day with her and not one nurse, or aid came in the entire day. True statement.

My father had a triple bypass surgery recently and was moved to this facility. since his time here it has been very discouraging. My father was totally ignored, he had an accident in the middle of the night, he was shrugged off when he paged for help until the morning came was forced to lie in it for hours. He asked for a hot meal and was fed a cold egg sandwich and fruit over and over again when we explicitly asked for a change multiple times, finally refusing the last one when it came, they obviously do not know what they should be feeding their heart patients and need reeducated, as they brought him fried food and a hard unchewable hamburger. The food is terrible! They have total disregard for their patients no care in the world. We are moving him to anther facility before something serious happens to him. Please do not let your loved ones come here!! If I could give this place no stars I would.

My mom is at Viera Health & Rehabilitation Center. Their staff and the care they provide for my mom is outstanding. They have the same staff there, so they don't have a large turnover. They take fantastic care of my mother. They have full-time nursing and CNAs. My mom is still in rehab, so she's getting all the amenities from the rehab center right now. Once she goes to the residency, she'll have nursing and CNAs, too, as well as activities for the center. The staff are polite, friendly, and professional. They do an outstanding job. We couldn't ask for anybody better. Cleanliness is outstanding. Their housekeeping is constantly on the floor and constantly in the rooms.

My relative is only at the facility to recover from a stroke. They are fully aware mentally of what is going on and unfortunately have limited use of the one side of their body as they are going through rehab. On the 3rd day of their stay we arrived at lunch and they are laying in their own feces and breakfast is still there. No attention was given since early in the morning. We want our family member to get standard care, not substandard. The goal is slowly improve and to get out of the facility not turn our relative into some incapable vegetable. No dignity here. You are getting paid to provide a service.

If you love your family member do not use this facility. You will be promised excellent care but those are words to get you to use this facility. There is not enough nursing staff to take care of your needs. medications are not distributed in a timely manner and don’t expect help to come when you need it. It took me over 28 hours to get my medication for my blood clot and that was after calls were made by the surgeon calling and a family member staying on them to get this into my system. When I had muscle spasms one night I asked for help and never got response till the morning crew came aboard, and suffered all night with no sleep.

This place is the absolute worst. My mother was transferred there from the hospital. She was in severe pain and they couldn't medicate her for 48 hours as they had no medication. I could never reach any one at the nurses station when I called - 56 separate times in one week! When I visited her, she was laying with her bottom half about to fall out of the bed and when I told them she needed bed rails, they said that they didn't have any (after I searched the halls for help). Last straw was when my Mom called me to tell me she'd been laying in her own feces for 2 hours because no one had time to clean her up. I had to call them to tell them I was headed to them now and she better be clean when I arrived. She was, but imagine if I wasn't able to do that? Never use this place. Ever.

Worst rehab center I have ever had to endure. My grandmother was transfered here yesterday to regain strength so she can start chemo soon with stage 4 cancer. She arrived with a port in her lung that was to be emptied with help by a worker. While family was with her everything was fine and the moment they left my grandmother by herself, This facility neglected my grandmother, left her on the toilet for 30 min while she called for help, they didn't give her her pain meds in time. She had to have her lung port emptied and they where over 2 hours late to do that. Drowning her lungs! By the time my family got back to the facility to check on her only being gone 3-4 hours. She had even fell out of her bed on her chest and laid there, we still don't know how long she was on the floor for!!!! What in the actual f#%@&÷&$;#&&÷!!!!! She could have died. No regard for her condition even though they knew what state she was in and the care she needed. No doctor came to see her within the 24 hours she was there. Only a PT. Never send your family here if they or your in need. Worst worst worst!!!

Everyone there was nice and helpful. The food was good and a special thank you to Tina for helping me when others couldn't. My wife had no problem coming to see me and they kept in contact with her.

I have never experienced anything like I did when trying to communicate with the staff at Viera Health and Rehab. My mom was discharged there from the hospital. My mom lives in Florida and I live in NY. Trying to get someone to return my call was impossible. I called and called and called. I left numerous messages but I guess they're all too busy to return a phone call. Additionally, my mom fell three times while in their care. She left there with cuts and bruises. They were supposed to be helping to strengthen her legs but had her on muscle relaxers three times a day ?!?! There was no reason for that. I would never put anyone there!

am still awaiting a call from Viera Health and Rehab. I have called every other day past two weeks since my moms death. I am told someone will call me when time permits. Is this how you treat a family who just lost their parent after her horrible care and death. Someone in top management needs to reach out to me as your middle and lower management have no priorities or empathy. S. Emmert

The facility is shabby and the nurses hide or yell at you that they are busy. The call button means nothing.

This place is terrible. The staff is rude and nasty. No one calls you back. Not professional nor qualified to be dealing with the elderly. I will never allow my family member to go there ever again.

My husband was a patient at Viera Health andRehab and I cannot find one thing positive about the facility. They put the patients in a chair for the day. When I came to visit my husband's body was resting on his fractured arm and he was in severe pain. The next afternoon when I entered his room his bed was empty and had been stripped. His roommate told me that they took him to the hospital that morning. No one in the facility could tell me anything, they knew nothing. I found my husband at the Viera hospital in ICU with a blistering rash over his entire body and sepsis. The info package and necessary forms to be signed that is to be given when the patient checks into Viera Health and Rehab arrived in the mail at my home 2 days after my husband died.

My dad was sent to this rehab center from the hospital he had 3 broken ribs and 1 day when I was visiting him and taking to the nurse for that day about dad and she did not even know he had broken ribs and the cna thought it was the opposite side. They would keep him sitting in the wheelchair from breakfast to after lunch which caused him a lot of pain. He got 2 UTI's in the 3 weeks he was there. We had him transfer to the hospital and when the emt"s were there and they were asking me question about dad I was informed he was at the ER over the weekend and I Was Not contacted about this! So Wrong!! Once he was admitted to the hospital in the PCU united we found out he was sepsis and the infection was in his blood. Thank God he puled through and was able to go back to his ALP place. There were some nurses who were great with dad but there is a lack of communication at this place. He will never go to this place again! I hope this info helps other families so no one else experiences these issues.

My husband was sent from the hospital to the rehabilitation center of Wuesthoff Progressive. The staff were very amenable and caring. The atmosphere was just so positive. There were occupational and physical therapists. They took him for exercises for an hour everyday. There were goals for every exercise. The food was just okay. I also visited their nursing home. It was well-decorated inside and out. It looked nice and fine.

I knew from day 1 this wasn't the best place. If we tried to get help in the room it would take 30 to 50 minutes and sometimes no one would come. They acted like we were bothering them. They didn't notice my father had a fever and turned on the AC! I asked for someone to check his temp and sure enough he had a temp of 104 and was off to the ER. If I hadn't said anything I don't think my dad would have made it to the morning. The ER actually asked how he got to this and why nothing was done. I don't want any other families to go through what we did. We have a long road ahead of us because of that infection. It massively effected my father, mentally and physically and there is no doubt in my mind they are to blame. It breaks my heart that these people are in charge of elderly care and Heath. I feel bad for anyone that doesn't have friends or family to be their voice and eyes and ears. my dad left worst then how he went in!

My mother-in-law was in and out of Wuestoff Progressive Care Center probably for a year and a half. The care was okay. It's not like the care that she would receive at home, but it was okay for her. Sometimes they're just slow about getting things done, things that you request. And I realize they have more than just one person to take care of. There are many, many patients to one nurse, but it was fine. I wouldn't have given it an A+ rating, but it was livable.

When my grandmother became sick in 2010 the family had a hard choice to make ; do we try to keep her at home or choose a nursing home for around the clock care . Needless to say we were all nervous about the nursing home idea ,however, my father was not capable of taking of my grandmother on his own and rest of the family was to distant to provide immediate care. When one first hears the word nursing home bad image come to mind particularly ones of substandard care and abusive staff. Yet, the choice had been made and we had to come together to find facility that could provide quality care physically and emotionally .On the recommendation of a home health aide we discovered Wuesthoff Progressive Care Center located in Viera,Florida. During the first visit we noticed immediately that there was security provided and each guest and worker were required to be checking for the day ,Secondly, we noticed that the place was clean from top to bottom not only on the outside but also the inside from the front room to kitchen, and the patient rooms. There staff ranging from nurses to administrative personnel were constantly in the area. The staff was friendly and immediately introduce themselves. The facility had different recreational areas for the residents to watch television or play games. Residences also had access to the patio area with staff monitoring if they wanted to sit outside. Feeling as if we could trust this facility; which had great credentials we elected to place my grandmother here. That first week we were all anxious about her care and well being let me assure you that we didn't stay worried for long . My father begin to make frequent stops throughout the day and night to see my grandmother and was greeted with open arms . The staff told my father he was free to come at any time he like which my father did. On each unannounced visit my father said he found my grandmother clean and well situated and on several visits he would find her in physical rehab. The staff would even come and take my grandmother for strolls outside in her wheelchair. As a E.R nurse I was impress by how fast the staff would come to assist the residents with request and how well organized they were with there routines. I must say the Wuesthoff Progressive Care Center was a great asset to my family during my grandmothers last days. I would recommend this facility any day for those seeking help for there love ones.
