My brother has been at Century Oaks for almost 2 years. We recently transitioned him from an independent apartment at Century Oaks to an assisted living apartment upstairs in the same building. Both apartments were fine and typical of care communities. His assisted living apartment has a nice walk-in closet in addition to a good-sized entry closet. There is a full kitchen, space for his desk, and his queen bed, in addition to a nice, screened balcony. We have found the staff helpful and friendly, and the residents are a joy. Nancy, the administrator, really helped us to make my brother’s move possible and went above and beyond due to our tight time frame. She takes an interest in his welfare and keeps abreast of his activities. As in any care organization, she must balance resident care and keeping the business afloat, not an easy task. No doubt, the budgets are tight and that certainly affects staffing levels and food options. And, as with most businesses, onboarding and keeping staff is currently difficult. But the rents are among the most reasonable of all the alternative facilities we visited. My brother cannot afford any of the upscale, amenity laden facilities, but he Is safe, cared for, and has made many friends at Century Oaks. I do think that they should be upfront about the swimming pool not being available. It is kept clean and looks appealing, but is not designed for safe entrance or egress by mobility impaired people; therefore, it is off limits for use. The lobby area has recently been redone and the residents enjoy meeting for conversations there as well as outside. We are grateful that he is safe in a caring environment.

My tour at Century Oaks was not given by the regular tour person. She wasn't there. She didn't have answers to many of my questions because she was not the regular tour person. The only place I saw was the memory care area, and it looked like it was well staffed, and the residents were comfortable, but I was disappointed by the upkeep and it did not look cheerful and welcoming as are many memory care areas and the facilities. The dining room was utilitarian.

Food quality is substandard with sometimes burned, undercooked food as well as no variety in their offering. Residents complain about the food with no action taken by admin. Low staffing creates many meals having to be served in residents' rooms. Cold food and paltry serving size. Most of their food is low quality commercial grade that is prepared by non-trained chefs. Staff turn around is very high as they leave for better paying jobs. Also, they tout amenities that are not available to residents. They have a pool but won't allow residents to use it. They have no staff to monitor and will not allow independent living resident to use it at their own risk. Pool table in rec room is torn and not available, Shuffleboard court is not available, and their Van service is limited due to their Van being an old Brevard County Van with limited space. They continually raise their rents with no improvement in food, amount of staffing, activities etc... Management will not listen to residents or their families and have excuse after excuse as to why things are getting worse. Rent increases should mean improvements but there is no communication with residents on what's happening with staffing, food complaints, facility issues etc... Residents are afraid if family complains to management, as they fear they will be told to just move out if they don't like it.

The staff I dealt with at Century Oaks was very nice. They would have accommodated everything that we needed. It was clean, and they had pretty much the same things as the others. They had a salon, they would take you to places where you needed to go, and had in-house doctors. They had different sized rooms depending on how much you want to spend and the rooms were decent size.

My friend will be moving into Century Oaks. I think it best suited my friend's needs. The facility was clean. The people were nice. The administrator was very informative and helpful. She was very accommodating of our time, and she wasn't rushing. She was very patient and repeated things when she needed to. My friend was able to tour it twice, and that was good. I think the thing we liked the most about it was that the independent apartment was large. It was a good size for someone coming into a place with their furniture. It was spacious. It had everything you needed. It had storage and a nice screened porch. The facility itself had about three different areas that you could go to just to get out of your room and socialize. There was a music room, a library, and a craft room with puzzles and other things that the residents could enjoy. Everyone was nice. One of the employees came out, and he greeted all the residents that were sitting out in the lobby area. He greeted them by name and greeted us.

We toured the Century Oaks for my mom. It's a little bit older building, but it was newly renovated. They were two-story buildings and it was a large facility. They had single-occupancy and double-occupancy rooms, and the kitchens had just a microwave and not a stove. I met the front desk person, the activities coordinator who was doing two jobs at once that day, so she gave us the tour but she also does the activities. The people all seemed happy and satisfied with their living conditions and being there. They allow small pets and I saw a couple of small dogs there. They keep the memory care separate from assisted living.

My brother has been at Century Oaks Senior Living for 4 months now. We chose it primarily because it was within his budget. Some of the others were just too expensive. The staff has been very good. They have all kinds of activities, and they do some trips. He's gone to play Euchre and bingo. Sometimes, the residents there will just get together and play cards. I think there are plenty of things there to do if you choose to do that.

We went to Century Oaks. They have a very friendly staff, and it's definitely an older building. You could see a little wear and tear on the general carpeting and so forth. It was certainly nice, and it was less expensive than the other facility. The units had regular closets; they didn't have walk-in closets. We know we got to do a lot of downsizing and it makes it even worse when you just have standard closets, so that was a consideration for us. It would certainly be comfortable enough, but I probably would give it a three. They had a variety of activities, but not quite as much as the other place. They are intermixed, which could be good or bad. Continuing care was a philosophy, so they had assisted living, memory care, and independent living kind of all mixed together for meals and things. It was something smaller than the other place. It would be adequate, but it would not be up to what we're looking for. They have a swimming pool.

I toured Century Oaks. I was shown their independent living because the room was an actual two-bedroom-two-bath apartment. It was nice, it was roomy, and it looked well kept up. It seemed cheerful. Things that they offer were quite good like the reading room, and they also had a billiard table. They have an activity room, and they have a pool, so there are a lot of neat things to be able to do. My friend is a very active person, so it's good to have him be in an active community. He is my late husband's cousin, but we were so close, he lived with us for most of our married life because of financial reasons, his health, and everything. And he has no family here now, so I'm the only one that can kind of rely on him. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She bent over backward to help us out, and that was amazing. The community itself seemed to be laid out nice, and it was comfortable. It was kind of like a little bit on the luxurious end, but not with having to cost a bunch of money. They tried a lot to put on a nice facade, so it looked very welcoming. Upkeep was fine too. I didn't see anything out of place or anything that needed repairing or any torn wallpaper or painting scrapes or anything. Everything seemed to be good. We saw a dining room and then outside the dining room was another dining area because they were in the process of redoing one of their other dining rooms. They were refurbishing it and everything. It was fine. It looked clean and organized, and the tables were not crowded together. If you have a wheelchair or something, there's plenty of room. When they found out that my friend was a diabetic and would probably need special kinds of meals and everything, they said that they would talk to a dietitian and try to do their best to give him meals that would accommodate him. They weren't expecting us to come, and we just kind of dropped in. While we were right there in a neighborhood, I said, let's just go to Century Oaks and see if someone can give us a tour, and they were very gracious. We just dropped in, and they gave us a tour. They have a small exercise room, and they have laundry, too, if you want to do your own laundry. Some of the furnishings could have been a little bit nicer, and maybe a carpet replaced or something because it had gotten a few bubbles in it, and it stretched in areas. There were a few things like that, but it's nothing. The place was clean, and it looked decorative.

I'm currently living in Century Oaks Assisted and Independent Living. It's terrible. They provide very few activities -- very little. The place is basically dead because of COVID. The food is awful; it's terrible. The room is all right, it's OK, but everything else. The pool is green, you can't go in it, and nobody's been in the pool for two years.

My family and I recently had to remove my grandma from Century Oaks because of how terribly they have handled caring for her. My grandma required minimal hands-on care (she has the start of dementia, but is able to walk with a walker). We obviously supported the lockdown down when the pandemic began in order to ensure safety. However, since March she was kept in her room. No social interaction with staff (besides meal drop-off and medication). So many other facilities have used creative ways to keep their residents safe & engaged, but this place had no regard for the mental health of residents. We would be less upset over this situation if their rule of staying in applied to the entire facility. BUT, if the resident is considered "independent" they are free to come and go as they please. On many occasions those residents were seen outside sitting in a circle on walkers with masks off. SO, what this says to me, is that the staff did not want to deal with those who could not fully help themselves. Their lack of concern or care for my grandma was event when we moved her out when an employee said, "Oh, she's been sleeping on the floor in a pile of clothes." It makes me so angry that a facility that is supposed to care for our loved ones can have such disregard for them. On another occasion (before the pandemic) I was visiting my grandma and I heard her roommate fall in the bathroom. I told my grandma to push her help necklace, but it wasn't working. I ran to find someone on the floor to help. We later discovered that both of their "help" necklaces' batteries were dead. If I was not there, the poor woman would have laid on the bathroom floor for who knows how long. They did not take the time to ensure the safety of their residents. We never received update calls or communication unless WE called and reached out. It makes me so sad for people who do not have loved ones who can advocate for them. I will say there were a couple of staff members who were helpful and showed some caring towards her. I know being a caretaker is hard and they do not get paid what they should. However, it is on the facility, administration, and owner to take care of the whole person. I would NOT recommend this facility. I am happy to report since leaving Century Oaks for a smaller facility, my grandma is looking and feeling so much better!

This facility was the best all around deal for my father and his needs in this area. I was very pleased that since my father has a small dog that they got him a first floor apartment where he can let the dog right outside. Also, the apartment is roomy enough that my father could bring a reasonable amount of his furniture from his home up north.

I'm a resident of Century Oaks, and so far my experience is fine. The staff is also fine and the food is good; I enjoy it. The activities are good if you are able to do them. The atmosphere and surroundings are good as well. I would rate them the highest. The cost is OK.

Century Oaks is bigger than other places and so is my apartment. The employees are very nice and a big help. The food is OK, but they can improve some of it. I have a 2-bedroom with two full bathrooms and a full kitchen. The place has everything you could think of and more. The pricing is very low compared to others, and you get your money's worth at this place. Theyre also good at raising the rent. There's no cap whatsoever on it.

My father-in-law is on a waiting list at Century Oaks. We just feel it's the best money-wise and is the most affordable. It's a good location and they have a lot going on there. They take people out quite a bit to shopping and to different places to have lunch. They offer little apartments with full kitchens and even a little living room. The one that my father-in-law would be sharing has one bedroom and his own bath, and then there's another larger bedroom with its own bath. They're very nice and bright.

The rooms at Century Oaks were larger than the other places I've seen and nicely laid out. They had a patio or a balcony for all the rooms. The residents seemed a little bit more youthful and active, and more than half of the residents were completely independent. Many of them had pets, and they were running around with their owners. They had a pool, exercise classes once a week, aerobics for swimming, a room for physical therapy, 2 laundry rooms -- one at each end of each floor -- a library, and an arts and crafts room. Some of the areas seemed dark, but it was not depressing.

Century Oaks' apartments were larger than any other that I had seen. However, the facilities were older and not that nice. It needs to be updated. Other than that, I was very pleased with the gracious personnel. A staff member even pushed me around in a wheelchair the whole time because I had problems walking. Even though it was an older community that needs some updates, I thought everything was fine. I loved the size of the apartments. I was very impressed with them because they were more spacious than other places.

My father is in assisted living at Century Oaks. They seem to have a good deal of activities. They have a swimming pool and a pool table, they do transportation, and they take them shopping from time to time to different places. They have 1 and 2 bedrooms, which are very nice and spacious. The place is nice and comfortable. I have seen their menu for the entire month at a time. They get three meals a day, breakfast is like a brunch, and it is a buffet style. They usually have 2 main choices a day for both lunch and dinner, the meals seem to be fine and balanced, and if there is someone who needs a special diet, they make sure that that is taken care of.

Century Oaks is one of my favorites and reasonably priced, too. The rooms were decent. They provide three meals a day ad have some open areas. The people I talked to were nice.

We moved over to Century Oaks, and it is much better. There are a lot of areas for activities. They have a little recreation area, an arts and crafts area, an area for meetings, and a chapel, plus two different dining rooms and a swimming pool. It is just light years different than where we were before. The food is very good. The best part is our apartment which has a kitchen, three rooms, a porch, and two bathrooms. The only thing is I don’t think they have a nurse or a doctor on-duty at all times.

The room at Century Oaks is about 700 square feet with a living room, bathroom, and kitchenette, which is why this is the facility I prefer right now. They are also a little flexible with their pricing. The dining room looked nice and adequate.

Century Oaks is a nice facility. The rooms are big, and the rates are more affordable than the others I’ve visited. The staff who gave me the tour was nice. When we were there, some residents were having a Bible study in one room, and some were playing cards in another room, and some were getting ready for aerobics in another room. This facility has a homey atmosphere. It’s a medium-sized facility.

She is in an independent living at Century Oaks. She is my best friend. This is the one she’s been in for four years. The assisted that they have at Century Oaks is all upstairs, and she has a dog. She has to take the dog out, and the dog will not ride in the elevator. They have doctors that come in once a month or so. There are three meals a day. They have shuttle service.

Century Oaks was retirement assisted living. It was very friendly and very caring. It was pretty much nice and clean. The rooms were nice and spacious with double occupancy, a kitchenette, and a sitting area. I was scheduled to move in next week.

I was looking for something that my mother would feel comfortable in, and I was looking for a place where the people were very friendly; the people who live there were very friendly. I went to many places, and Century Oaks was the first one I walked into that I felt like it was home myself. It was that friendly. It is very clean and very nice; my mother loves it. She is just having a ball there. They have lots of things every day, and she does and does a lot of them. She was getting to be very inactive, and now she is very active. Not everything on the menu is what she wants, but they always have a variety, so it is good. I have gone there almost every day since she has been there, and the staff is always helping her and doing things. They are just so friendly. I have been in other places, and nothing compares to this. All the different factors that I was looking for were all there, and she just loves it. She's always running around and having a good time, and I love it. That's what I wanted.

For Century Oaks I wrote "care questionable" because when I went there, I don't know how good the care was. I thought some of the people were a little lacking. However, I was only there for 20 minutes, and I don't think it is fair to make a snap judgment. That was my first impression. However, the staff seemed friendly. The dining area and the sanitation seemed very nice. The location was great.

We went and saw Century Oaks. The visiting experience was perfect. When we went home I said to my parents 'OK, you guys can stay here; I’m moving out and going there.' Everybody was super friendly. It was very clean. It smelled good. The lady took me around everywhere and showed me all the different apartments, all the different rooms, and explained what they did. So, I'd definitely go there, I really would. There was nothing that turned me off or concerned me. There they have like a card room to go play cards, a game room, and a recreation room. They sing music and play instruments, and they’ve got full beauty and barber shop. There’s a swimming pool. They also take them on activities. They take them off to Wal-Mart and Publix. The place was very good and was very nicely decorated. It’s updated. I think they just did the remodeling on the outside, and everything inside was very clean.

We liked Century Oaks. It had a good independent living facility and there's another building for people with memory problem. It’s close to our vicinity. The staff were okay, they were a good assistance. The rooms are good sized compared to the other we saw. Residents there seemed to be pretty good. They have a library and a wellness center. I will recommend this place depending on what people like.

Mom had only been at Century Oaks for seven days. It is a fairly nice place and it is hurricane proof. The food looked pretty good. There did not seem to be a lot of staff, there were quite a few people, and it seemed like they need one or two more. They had special codes for getting out and in the elevator, and the front door was always manned.

Century Oaks is very closely knit. Everybody knows everybody, and the residents all get along very well. I liked the camaraderie between the staff and the residents, and the fact that the residents are all very much involved. The assisted living residents have their meals done for them, and its adequate. The rooms for assisted living were tight, but for the unassisted living they've got regular apartments. They could probably improve on the food.

The Century Oaks was in the same vicinity where we were visiting the area to look at possible places for my friend's mother to live. The facility looked like it was well tended - the grounds were neat and well trimmed. The interior also had a very nice and fresh décor. The dining options included many interesting meals and choices. The residents appeared to enjoy their food very much. They are also offered snacks regularly. The communal spaces were all designed to be easy access to suit each purpose well. The seniors could easily socialize, make crafts, play games, watch TV and films and participate in many other stimulating activities. The private rooms were all nicely kept and decorated. The staff was friendly and attended to all of the residents well. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. Residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards. Every resident appeared to be very well cared for in a peaceful, yet fun environment by kind, caring and compassionate staff.
