When my son and I walked out of Cascade Heights, he looked at me and said, "No way. This place just creeps me out." Everything about it is old. The facility is old. Even just walking around it, you get this smell of being old. The sales girl there, Mary Jo, was fine. I didn't interact with the other staff because we wanted to get out of there as soon as we got in there. The pricing was just the same comparing it to the other facilities I went to. So, I don't get it.

Cascade Heights was very pretty. It's almost like a luxury hotel. When I went, it was about 1:00 or 1:30, so I think lunch was over. They gave me a menu and it's diversified. If you don't want to have breakfast downstairs, you can order your breakfast, tell them what you want, and then go pick it up. Let's say you're a person that gets up late, you could do that or you could have it boxed up and brought to you. There is a charge for that, but for what they had on the menu, it sounded very appetizing.

I visited Cascade Heights. It's a very nice facility. It seemed like lots of meaningful activities. Those were the upsides and I didn't have a downside, to be honest with you. The staff that I met was great, super friendly, and knowledgeable. I thought the rooms were very nice, newly updated, and pretty large. It had a lot of different options as far as single bedroom or double bedroom. The dining area was nice, clean, and modern. It seemed like a kind of a cruise ship vibe. They had a barbershop and a gym. They had a common area with a piano and some activities like that.

My sister moved into Cascade Heights a couple of months ago. It seems to be a very open and friendly environment. It has absolutely beautiful grounds. It has a lovely veranda in the front of the building, and the residents love to sit out there and talk to one another. They have a great dining room and wonderful food. My sister does exercises every morning, and they have water aerobics several times a week. They offer all kinds of different entertainment programs, and people come in to do entertainment. She has a very nice 1-bedroom apartment, and it is very spacious, very clean, and bright. She's very happy there.

Dad moved into Cascade Heights. I think the facility is a well-kept facility. I think there are people there that actually genuinely care, and they have a lot of activities. They do have formal dining room arrangements. They have a beauty salon. They have plenty of outdoor space and a swimming pool. It is decorated well. It is maintained well. They have lots of entertainment and games. They have therapy there. You can do physical and occupational. We had a lot of issues with the staff not completing what they were doing. The guests have a button to push, and the response time is very slow.

My mom is currently living in Cascade Heights. It's clean, the apartment is homey, and we made it look like home. It's inviting, has a lot of sunlight, and is up to date. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly, they are always doing what they can to solve problems, and answering any questions that we have promptly. It's been really good. An Elvis impersonator comes and sings every week, and they have dancing on Sunday mornings. They have bingo. They have art classes, craft classes, and I think they do water aerobics in the summer. They have a movie night, they have an ice cream social. They'll do things like, Mardi Gras for the 4th of July, or any event that comes up. They'll have either an activity or a meal, with decorations. They do try to focus on any little event that they can decorate and do something fun. They have a lot of entertainment that comes from singers, and piano players, and I think they even had a comedian one time. The food is just small portions, bland, and sometimes the soup is more liquid than the ingredients. But maybe that's easier for the elderly, or maybe that's on purpose. I don't know. I don't love the food.

Cascade Heights was very nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was well kept. I didn't get to taste any food, but it smelled delicious. The dining area looked very inviting, and I believe it's restaurant style. The size of the rooms were good. They had nice little kitchens. You could bring in your own microwave. Some of the rooms had carpeting. They have a very nice yard, too. Very nice upkeep. The staff who gave us the tour was very polite. People were doing art when I was there. The residents all appeared to know and be very friendly with each other, and that was nice. There are outdoor spaces and there's a pool as well that's heated.

I toured Cascade Heights. They are completely renovating it, putting in flooring, etc., and that's a real plus. I like the fact that they are not putting down carpets, that they've gone to all manufactured wood floors because it's much better for people with allergies, and it's much easier to keep clean. I like the wood floors; I think that's very nice. I like the size of the facility there. It was better priced obviously than the other place. I was lucky because I got one apartment that has a view of the marsh and all behind it. I don't overlook the parking lot, which probably would have affected my choice, but I didn't have to make that choice, so that was good. Amenity-wise, they're very similar. They all offer the same thing. The only real drawback to that place is that there is no washer and dryer in the apartment itself. One good thing is that every Friday, they come in and they strip your bed, wash it, and put it back on, so that's a plus. As far as your clothing goes, then they have a washer and dryer on each floor, but you are responsible for doing your own laundry as long as you're independent. You can still be independent but need assistance with just a few things, and that's okay with them. Their pool is outdoors, and they have a large porch right outside the main entrance. It's covered, obviously, and they have rocking chairs. It's a very nice approach to the entranceway. The person who toured me around was very nice; she was not very at all pushy. She was very straightforward.

Cascade Heights is a very close-knit community, very friendly and personal. The staff who gave me the tour was very professional and very well informed. The rooms were like 1-bedroom type rooms with a balcony or little porch, and they were very adequate. There was construction when we went and they're redoing it, so I'm sure it'll be beautiful when it's redone. I haven't eaten but the people that were there said it was good. Their dining area was clean and well-kept.

We went to Cascade Heights, and that was a really nice place. We would have really considered that, except it's just farther away from where we are. It has kind of a more large resort-style feel to it, but the facilities were absolutely beautiful. The rooms were wonderful. They were the only apartment that actually had a full kitchen. It's small, but it's a full kitchen, with brand-new appliances, a full-sized refrigerator, beautiful cabinetry, and it was really, really nice. Everything was upgraded there. They're the only ones that have private patios as well. It's a really nice-sized patio, so that's a real nice benefit for the residents.

We visited Cascade Heights. That is a very lovely place, we were very well received. In my opinion, they would be a five-star place. We saw the floor plan that we liked. They provide meals, and it's just a beautiful facility. It's just the normal 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and they have a kitchen. The staff was very knowledgeable and amiable. It's the same facility, what you do is graduate in services. If you're in there just as a senior living and you start needing a little medical help, taking your medication, and showering and this type of thing, you stay right in the same room. You don't have to change rooms and all of this kind of stuff and sections of buildings or anything, you just get more attention from staff that is assigned to do things like that. They have a heated pool, and all the amenities right there.

I toured Cascade Heights; we did the one in Longwood and that was horrible. The community is old, and the unit smelled. We were looking at an independent living unit, and it smelled like mold and mildew. They were on the higher price. I think that's mainly because they're in Longwood (and not because of the actual facility being nice). It was just so they were charging you. The staff was fine and informative; she was not overly friendly. We walked in the front door. The facility itself is very dated, like the furniture and everything. There is old wood; it is very, very dated. It had mauve pink on the wall and the flower pattern; it was just old. I don't think you can have a feeling when you are walking into a room and there were bugs all over the place. It had an old swag lamp. Nothing was updated, and all the appliances were very old.

My parents are at the independent living of Cascade Heights in Longwood. We chose it mostly for their amenities and because of the people there. There's also a lot to keep them busy like movies, dancing, nice dinners, and hanging out by the pool. It's a very nice community. The staff is very good and very accommodating. The food is good too and they've just got a great setup for everything. They have a salon and they do workouts. They have medical staff and a maintenance staff too. Anything that spills down on the floor, you can call them to come to clean it up for you. They're nice.

My parents love it there at Cascade Heights. We like the staff, they were caring and receptive, and they react quickly. And we had lunch there before we decided on a place, and out of all the places we had lunch at, they had the best food. They're in independent living; they have a cottage. All the staff members were good, except for maybe the housekeeping. They're not super friendly, but they're not bad. They've got all kinds of stuff going on. They got car shows, concerts, happy hour, and I think they did a Kentucky Derby also. It's pretty expensive.

My visit at Cascade Heights was great; I was really impressed. The room was furnished very nicely, it was clean, and I really liked it. There was plenty of room. It has a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave. It's small; it's just what you need because they provide two meals, so it was enough. The staff was friendly. I was really impressed with it.

My mother is at Cascade Heights. She's in independent in the main building. It looks good. The staff is very friendly, and the tenants are happy, which is important. The food sounds great on the menu, but with Covid, they try not to have everyone in the dining room, so they deliver the food. I think by the time the food gets to the room, it's not as fresh as it could be. I haven't tried it, but I've seen what mom gets and it looks a little dried out when it gets to her. From the activities that are listed in the brochure during non-Covid times, it sounds like they have a pretty good program with the pool exercises and the exercise room. My mom is really into mahjong and Bridge, and they have people that get together with that, and the staff there is trying to get her set up on that, but right now, she's really still in the phase where she's a little not quite ready to get started in that. I've seen people playing cards and they seem to be having a good time. I think there are plenty of activities for her. They have an outside area where they can go and sit outside on the benches, and they can walk around the property. Her room is a corner unit, and it has a nice size porch that's screened in, it overlooks a lake with lily pads, it's very pleasant, and it has lots of light. That's what really sold us there.

Cascade Heights was very nice, but they don't take Medicaid. The room was a one-bedroom with a bath, and it seemed like the staff was friendly. I have a friend who has her parents there, and she really likes it there.

Cascade Heights is very nice, and the people are very nice and friendly. The staff is good. It's also more reasonably-priced than others. They always have something to do like water exercises, Bingo, and three different church groups that come in every week. My husband and I are in assisted living. I like the food and it's very delicious. I'm happy here. We have a two-bedroom suite with a little kitchenette, pantry, living room and dining room combined, and a suite on either side with a shower. They come in and clean your room. They take people to churches, malls, grocery stores, and outings. They're very accommodating to everybody's needs.

We toured Cascade Heights. It was nice, pleasant, and it was a little older than the other ones we looked at, but it was okay. The staff was excellent, and it was a very good tour. The food was very good and the dining area was very nice. The one room we saw was nice, and it has just been redone.

I moved into Brookdale Island Lake, and I'm very happy with the facility. The people are very nice and very friendly, and the staff is compassionate and caring. It is clean and well-kept. The food is really good. There's a standard plan of breakfast every day, and either lunch or dinner which you can add at an additional cost. The pricing is comparable. I've participated in the exercise program, entertainment, and a lady came and talked about butterflies. I really enjoyed that.

I had a good tour of Brookdale Island Lake. They were very informative, and the place looked very nice and adequate for what we were looking for. The price range was good, too. All of the residents we talked to seemed to like it. The dining room was very nice. They had laundry facilities on each floor. Some of the units were single-story homes. They had plenty of activities laid out on the calendar for each month like art classes, games, swimming, and exercise programs. There's a beauty salon and transportation. I saw their menu; their main entrees change every day.

Chambrel at Brookdale Island Lake is where I would have gone if we had stayed living in Florida. You could have your own separate studio apartment or, if you were a couple, you could get a two-bedroom with two baths and a living room; or a one-bedroom with a living room, a bedroom, and a bath. They all had the small kitchen facilities. They had a nice dining room, which was set up very nicely, where you could have a full, hot breakfast, cafeteria-style. THere were tablecloths and water glasses at dinner, which was very nice, and had a good selection. The food and entertainment were good. It had an outside swimming pool exercise classes twice a week, and a big game room.

For independent living, it is a good community. The residents are lively, warm, and interesting. The activities are pretty good. The apartments are lovely. Life is simplified. The meals are pleasant. But the prices skyrocket once you are settled in. And if you need some care, this is not the place. The aides that you can have from Brookdale (extra $) are nice people but not skill and not guided. The systems are haphazard and families are not notified when problems arise. My mother had several falls and was black and blue all over, with her eyes swollen shut. Although I was paying to have Brookdale staff check on her three times a day, no one called me for three days. Finally, one of her friends got in touch with me. There is not a system in place to routinely check alarms. When my dad fell, the alarm did not work. My mom ended up calling 911. Another woman fell, pressed her alarm which did not work, and was on the floor 24 hours. The safety and quality of care overall needs to be revamped. Brookdale has become so greedy and sloppy.

The rooms at Brookdale Island Lake were nice. It was almost like a little apartment with a refrigerator, a little counter, and a sink. So, you could probably put a microwave and heat stuff up in your room. It was a little more spacious where you can get a recliner, and a couch in there. All the staff were good. They showed us around. We were there at lunch time, so they were serving lunch. They said to come back if we could for dinner, but we were too busy to do that. It seemed cleaner than the other one. The floors were clean with larger rooms, and a bigger building. I don’t know about all of their activities. We were looking specifically for card games, and meeting with other people in the place. They have parties, and stuff like that.

My loved one is in Brookdale Island Lake (formerly Chambrel at Island Lake). The amenities and staff are very good. However, when we signed the contract, there were a few things they said were going to happen, like that a welcoming committee would call her, that didn't happen. That disappointed me because to me, that was the way to get her acquainted with other people in there. The apartments were very nice. I've seen the menu and there is a variety of things to choose from, so the food looks good. There's a bus that frequently takes them on trips and a pool for exercising as well as an offering of a lot of different activities and other exercise classes. She has a full kitchen in her room.

My father is in Brookdale Island Lake (Formerly Chambrel at Island Lake). He is independent, but if he had to move to assisted, he could transverse to assisted in the same facility. They have classes going on, physical therapy, events, people coming to visit like singers or magicians, car shows, jeopardy, board games, and water aerobics. They have a really nice menu. They have the same three things everyday, which are good, but then they have three other things that are their specialty. I've tasted the food there, and it actually tastes pretty good. Old ladies are always doing puzzles or playing cards, and you see people out and about doing stuff. There's a lady at the front desk the whole time. She won't let you in unless you sign in. At night, the doors are locked, and you have to have a swipe card or a key to get in. They're not going to let the people just wander in and out.

Brookdale Island Lake is excellent and very good. Everything is very good except that I am not sure if they would accept my wife as a resident because of her condition. I have visited it twice, and everything is fine. The only problem is that their license is not good enough to take care of any ailments and health issues, so they are not interested in taking my wife as a patient. I have nothing bad to say because everything and everybody was very good.

The food was good, and I liked the type of people who were there at Chambrel. It was also one of the expensive facilities. It has assisted living in the same building. It had a nice little nice lake and swimming pool. The only issue I had with this facility was that they only had independent living and assisted living in the building. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They were not pushy.

I've known a few people that lived in Chambrel. They do have apartments, but the one that I visited are in the same building where they cook the food. I can't bear smelling food all the time. The food was OK. The staff was friendly, and they have a lot of activities. They have a bus that takes them wherever they want to go. I like that you could have your separate apartment. It's a nice place, but I just would not live there if I can help it.

Chambrel at Island Lake is the one I love. I just like everything about it. I liked our tour guide. She told us all about the facility and showed us around. She was wonderful. I just like the whole set-up. You get a full kitchen and the other ones I looked at only had partial kitchens. This one has a full kitchen with a stove. Also I love the pool. I like the atmosphere. I was able to try their food and it was wonderful. Overall, I was really impressed with the people and everything else they had to offer.

We went to Chambrel at Island Lake and it’s a wonderful facility. I have a friend who is there and I knew mom would love it there too. It's a very nice place and it's exactly what she wanted. They have an apartment and basically you do have a kitchen. It wasn’t too small, but definitely not too big. With assisted living, she would get all of her meals. Everything is right there. Their dining room is like a restaurant.

What was impressive at Chambrel was that they were right on top of it when I asked what they would do in case of fire and what the protocols were. Others didn't know, but they (Chambrel) were very good. They have a pool there. Their rooms and their dining room were very good as well; however, my grandma just said that it was a little too fancy for her. Three of the staff there were very good. There were four of us who visited it at different times, and the staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable.

My mom decided to stay in Chambrel at Island Lake, and they take good care of her there. Chambrel is a very nice place, and she's happy there. The nurses are very attentive, and it is a good place for her. They have lots of activities. They have an outdoor pool where they have water aerobics. They have bingo, discussion groups, and they show movie there. They have a piano in their gathering room, and people come in to play the piano for the residents. They take the residents out to movies. They have physical therapy available right there, which is a good thing. They also have occupational therapy there.

My sister and brother-in-law are now at Chambrel at Island Lake and they are happy there. Their apartments are very nice and clean. The place is aging a little bit and I think they are doing some remodeling, but overall it's clean. I think the carpet in the hallway is beautiful. I have eaten there quite a few times and the food – I have better and I've had worse, but I would say everyday it is good and they have lots of choices which is good. They have exercise class which my they are participating and that has been really good. All the residents there seemed pretty happy. The staff are all very nice and friendly.

I think Chambrel at Island Lake is quite an attractive facility. It looks like the apartments are nice. We only dealt with one person and she was very knowledgeable and very helpful.

I like that the Chambrel at Island Lake do have cottages and not just high rise building. It was like a home to me. They have an outside area with a patio and a grassy ground. They have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's just very nice. They have different activities like crafts and computer classes. They also have physical therapy, water aerobics, and many more.

The reason for the search was that I was just looking to see what is out there in case I need it. I visited Chambrel at Island Lake and I thought it was a very nice place. Everybody was very helpful. The staff seemed to be friendly. I did see one of their rooms and it was not bad. Overall, I enjoyed the tour. If somebody ask me about them, I would tell them that they must go visit and see this facility for themselves.

Chambrel at Island Lake was nice, very clean and very large. There was a bit of walking and some residents were older. The distances toward the dining room or parking lot would be one of the things they should be concerned about. The apartments had a complete kitchen. The residents seemed active, happy and contented. They had a lot of activities and there was a calendar on the wall with what was happening and what was available. They had several computers for residents who wanted to work or took lessons. There was also a swimming pool and water exercises. The lady that showed me around was very friendly, nice and helpful. In the dining room, the people were helpful and pleasant. I had lunch and the food was delicious. They had a good selection of food, some were available all the time and others were available for the day only. It seemed like you can have anything you wanted. I was really interested in this facility and I would recommend it to others.

Chambrel was a really nice facility. I would compare them to where we live now. The only thing was that I think they're a little more expensive than normal. However, you do get what you pay for. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. They took us around and showed us several apartments. Surprisingly, when we went there, we had a very good lunch there. Their dining room was really nice with tablecloths and waitresses and waiters who took care of our needs. For sure I would recommend this place.

We like Chambrel the best because the staff seems very nice. They were very helpful as we were walking through the place that day and answering follow-up questions. They seem to have a lot of tenure so it's nice to know that there's not a lot of turnover in staff. We thought that was important. The room layout is really the most ideal because it had a separate kitchen and a separate bedroom. It was a nice galley type of kitchen with an opening in the wall that you could actually sit at the island if you wanted to. It seemed to have a nice division between the rooms. Dad can swim there year round which is a big thing for him because the pool is heated. He's met some people and is playing cards on a regular basis and seems to be doing pretty well. The food was pretty good the time we ate there with him. He didn't like the spaghetti sauce and we reminded him that he's Italian and he's had his favorite spaghetti sauce for many years and obviously any place he goes is going to be different. He seems to be doing okay there.

Me and my wife are actually in the process of beginning to look for a independent living facility and we have visited Chambrel. It's very close to the city of Orlando. It's in business residential area. The place was very well kept up and I'm just pleased about everything. Everything was modern. The apartments were actually comfortable. The staff was nice.

I visited this facility looking for an adequate accommodation for my father in the possibly near future. I was able to use a GPS to find my way to the facility. It was not hard or confusing to find. The entrance to the property was open and made it easy to spot and locate. Upon entering I was immediately impressed with how clean and lavish the interior was. The ceilings were high and the rooms were spacious. We took a general tour of the main area. The dining area was beautiful and had numerous tables for all the guests. The decor was exceptional. It matched the environment appropriately and added a nice sense of class. The pool was large and very clean. It would be a nice spot to go to while visiting my dad. The property backs up to a smaller lake that added a nice sense of peace and tranquility. Although I never took the time to view the rooms for the residents, I felt this place had lots of great things to offer. It is a little bit further away but still close enough where I am comfortable with having my relative stay here. I would still keep this as an option for residency.

We've visited Chambrel at Island Lake and the place is really beautiful. It's clean and well kept. They have large courtyard and garden, wide walking path, and they have an outdoor swimming pool! They only provide meals which is a choice of lunch or dinner. And they have private dining room as well for family or friends when they come to visit and dine. The staff were nice, very warm and welcome. It's place you can really choose to stay.

When we visited this place, my mom instantly liked it. It's very clean and way better than the others we visited. It's not cheap though. It's $3000 a month to stay there but it's all worth it. Her place is really like that of an apartment and she is very comfortable living there. She can even cook if she wants to because she has a kitchen of her own inside. The people around her are nice, both the staff and the residents. They have activities to keep them busy. They have everything there

My mother and stepfather both were placed at Chambrel. He needed nursing care and she was able to take advantage of the more independent arrangements Chambrel offers with a small apartment of her own. My parents and my family were generally pleased with all of the services offered here. Moving in to such a facility can be somewhat traumatic for elderly patients. My mother felt early on that a piece of jewelry and some other minor items had turned up missing and she suspected the cleaning staff. The family decided, however, that this was most likely imagined.
