My husband was at Diamond Ridge Health & Rehabilitation. I've been in other rehab homes, and they can be depressing, like people sitting in wheelchairs out in the hallway and so forth. And when I went into Diamond Ridge it was bright and clean, and I saw bingo going on, and I didn't see anybody sitting out in the halls. Overall, the staff were very good and very caring. My husband didn't like the food at all, but they have an alternate menu. It wasn't great, but at least they offered you a variety. The physical appearance of the facility was excellent. My husband was only in one section, and in that one section they had two physical therapy rooms, quite large, with really good equipment, and the therapists were wonderful. The outside had been all redone. It was very, very nice. They had a lot of activities. They had ice cream events, bingo, crafts, and coffee breaks. They really had quite a bit going on every day. All these places are very expensive, but Diamond Ridge was in the range of every other facility that I researched and saw.

My aunt was staying at Diamond Ridge Health & Rehab. It was a rehab center, but they also have residence care as well as assisted living care in the same facility. I would not recommend them at all. The physical therapy folks there did not prepare her to be released. She could not walk into her house after she got out. Walking up the stairs was very difficult. We said, "Have you worked with her up and down the stairs?" They said, "If you can walk 100 feet, you'll be able to walk up the stairs," but she's unable to walk up the stairs. In addition, the occupational therapist did not teach her how to pull up her underpants. They taught her how to pull up her pants, but not her underpants because underpants are a little bit more difficult to get up. They didn't teach her how to put her hearing aids in. They didn't do enough preparation for home independent living. I was unhappy with that. My aunt said that the food was not good. They do not have a low-sodium diet. They only have a no added salt diet, and she was on no added salt, but for every meal she got, they gave her packets of salt. It would have been fine if they didn't hand her salt packets. I wasn't happy with that. The food wasn't prepared well. The portions were smaller than she would have liked. She wasn't happy there at all. The activities were good, and she played bingo and she went to the movie night. The place was clean, neat, and organized.

I liked Diamond Ridge Health & Rehabilitation. They were a very fine facility. The staff made the facility even nicer. When I went on the tour, there were about six people playing cards and a couple of people playing checkers. The facilities were nice and so were their activities. The dining facility was large and it was very well laid out. There weren't many outdoor spaces though.

My mother was in Diamond Ridge Health & Rehab for rehab. I went there last week and talked to them about their respite. They took good care of her. Once again, she was in isolation because of C.diff. It took us a year to get that under control. Due to COVID, I didn't get to go visit her, but they were very good about communicating with me. The only thing that happened while she was there, and I'm not blaming them by any means because she does it at home too, she fell and she got a concussion. So, we had to go back to the hospital and get all of that taken care of and get back to Diamond Ridge again. I know that she had her physical therapy and rehab. I know she had it daily and they would call and I had meetings with them. They called and told me how she was doing, and I was pleased with it. It's very nice, very clean.

There are ZERO special diets. I am gluten intolerant, and even though I informed the admissions nurse my diet included gluten. This caused a full blown gluten allergy reaction. The 1st one I have had in 12 years. Staff was quite cavalier about it, foing to the defense that it wasn't on the hospital paperwork. I have a dozen or so hospital meal order slips saying gluten-free At your own peril. Prescribed me drugs that in combination could have caused my b.p. to go critically low...coma. Cavalier about that too. I am glad I researched the interactions before I took the 2nd drug. Most of the staff is kind. Some are not, rather control freaks that have found their dream job. If one disagrees with something, it is immediately twisted into all about the staff member and how the patient is now attacking them. Food is worse than 70's school cafeteria food. The bare minimum is spent on food. All veggie mixes include green beans, the cheapest veggie of them all. Meat patties, like salisbury, sausage, and burger include soy as a filler. If one is diabetic stay away as a 400 grams of carbs a day is the usual. I am worse than when I got here 8 days ago

Diamondridge is welcoming. People are attentive, eager to speak to you and to be helpful. My mother has been there if I remember correctly since September and she has often told me she likes the way she is living. I appreciate the Diamondridge Family. Thank you
