My mom is in Keystone Place at Terra Bella. They found an assisted living apartment for her. It was fairly new when Mom went there three years ago. That was around the time when we noticed that she needed more assistance. I think she is happy that we were able to keep her there because she really made some friends. The programs are really good for her. Even though she's in the assisted living side, she's still participating in bingo and gets to see all her friends. She just needed assistance because she is unable to get around like she used to. She is happy there. They have been very good for my mom. They treat her like family. They got to know me and my siblings. We are all on a first name basis in three years. They are all like family to us now. They are really great people. Even when she was in the independent side, if she didn't feel well, they would actually bring food up to her. They do the same on the assisted living side. The food is great. If there's something on the menu she didn't want, they would make something for her. It has always been like that. They are very accommodating. She only participates in a few activities. They have a swimming pool. She never used that, but she loves her bingo and some crafts. They have live entertainment every once in a while. They have pub days, where you can go down and have a glass of wine with cheese and crackers. They have a lot of things going on all the time. The entire place is just beautiful. In fact, it reminds me of my own home. It is expensive, but I think you get what you pay for, like the accommodations, the choices of the different rooms, and other things. Mom just needed a studio. She came from a 1-bedroom, very large apartment. She's in a studio now, but she's happy. She's got her easy chair, her bed, and all of her dressers. She is happy.

I toured Keystone Place at Terra Bella. It was a beautiful campus with lovely grounds. It was just very welcoming. It felt great inside. The dining room is lovely. There are the actual rooms, we got to look into a few of the different apartments, and they were really nice. The staff was everywhere, very friendly to us, even people we had never met before. They answered all of our questions, and they were very knowledgeable. The rooms looked pretty new and everything was clean. Everything smelled really good.

Keystone Place at Terra Bella was a very beautiful place, but it was very expensive. It's a fairly new building, so the apartments were nice. I saw a swimming pool. I spoke with the sales director and she seemed like a nice lady, but she didn't feel as welcoming.

My father moved to Keystone Place at Terra Bella. The reason we chose it is because he felt that that was not a place to go to die. Everybody was very upbeat, everybody was very friendly and he felt like it was a lively place. They're very, very clean and very nice and he's ecstatic over the food. They have activities done daily. Everything is very clean and easy to get to. The pool was extremely nice and warm, and everything seemed to be great for him. They have a salon, they have a fitness room, a happy hour bar area, a TV room, and a movie room. There are nice areas for the family to sit in outside of their room. It's rather pricey, but for what they have, it's very nice.

I found Keystone Place at Terra Bella, and it's really wonderful. My mother has been there for about a month. It's beautiful. It's bright and cheery. What really makes it stand out is that the staff is fabulous. They're caring. They really get to know the residents there. They're just very caring and understanding of their conditions. They try to account for the good days and bad days. My mom is eating very well and she says, "It's good. I've actually tried a few things, and it's been very tasty. They're good." My mom has to have a soft mechanical diet. They usually cut up her food before they bring it to her, so just a lot of things that are easy, easy to manage. There's an outside therapy company that serves people in the community, and my mom's been getting therapy through them. I think they decorated pumpkins for Halloween. One day there were some jokes on the board. I guess the residents in there were going over the jokes because I asked my mom, "Oh, look at these jokes." She was like, "Oh, we did those this morning." She has a nice window that faces out to a nice nature area. There's a little water retention pond and trees, so I've set up a bird feeder for her. The birds haven't started coming out because we just got it out, but she has a nice view from her room. It's very clean. It's pretty like hardwood looking floors in it. The only downside is the rooms are a little small. I understand why, because they don't spend a lot of time in the rooms. They try to keep them out in the commons areas, so they can keep them engaged during the day. Then at night when they go in the room to sleep, they don't really need that much room. We did go outside. There's a little patio area for memory care that the residents can go out on, and there are chairs out there. It is to give them a chance to be out in the fresh air without wandering off. They don't go out there without someone with them. It was nice having a little patio. They have a nice sitting area where they watch TV, and they have a popcorn machine and different things they provide. They have some of those mechanical dogs like comfort animals that some of the residents really enjoy. There's a community bird feeder area, where you can go out and watch the birds. She really likes that. I think a lot of residents use it because a lot of times when I drive by, there will be people that take their dog out there and walk their dogs by. There's a bench and people will be sitting on the bench. I think that little area for them to go out and be outside is nice. The staff is amazing. If I need to get my mom in the car, I can set her up with the person at the desk. They'll sit there and keep her engaged until I can run, get the car, and pull up. They're just really, really great. All the staff members are friendly, and a lot of the residents are friendly. I've met a couple of the residents when they're walking their dogs. It's just overall a very cheery, happy place.

I went to Keystone Place at Terra Bella. It didn't have a good feel -- like when I walked in, there was nobody around -- and it just seemed bland. It was my least favorite of the places I visited. The staff was not enthusiastic. The rooms were small. They were not terribly small, but I didn't like the layout. They had a game room where they played cards, bingo, and stuff like that. It was also very expensive; it was one of the most expensive I looked at. There was nothing that impressed me.

From the moment I walked through the doors here, when we were checking places, I felt like I had come home. I’ve been here 18 months and I still feel the same. The staff and residents have become family and genuinely care about each of us. During this trying time, they have kept us safe and have done their best to provide activities for us, all the while making sure we followed health guidelines. I’m proud to say I live at Keystone Place at Terra Bella.

Office and food service employees need training. The operations director is inexperienced and unprofessional. Front desk is very good but overburdened. I think Inexperienced office employees are promoted or hired to save money. Maintenance is great. Life enrichment director is very effective and hardworking. The health director can be heard loudly refusing to have her employees do what is asked of them, directly to the executive director. Some of the health employees need personal hygiene training.

Prior to the pandemic Keystone Place would have received a better review. My parents report that the food quality has gone down significantly. Everything is drowning in oil and butter, which is not healthy for anyone, especially older clientele. I realize that these are trying times, but when my parents receive the meals they've ordered in advance they are rarely correct. Lack of organization? The residents are paying a premium price and deserve better. I am unhappy with the lack of communication from the facility to the families of residents. After receiving three emails in March, there was no further communication. I called Keystone Place after my parents informed me that a worker had tested positive for Covid-19. When I inquired about the lack of communication I was told at first that they did not have my email address, then that someone had changed my email address in the system.

Keystone Place at Terra Bella is all new and very well designed. It has a swimming pool, and they have memory care. My aunt has Alzheimer's and when she needs to go from assisted into memory it's already there, so she won't have to move out. She has a one-bedroom apartment, but they also have studios and two-bedrooms. They do pool aerobics, morning strolls together, they have a library, a hairdressing place on-site where she had her hair and nails done, and they also have doctors come in. They do all their meals together, they have a movie night, and they do happy hour twice a week. She's very happy there.

Keystone Place at Terra Bella was nice, but I didn't like the decor that much. The rooms were big, exceptionally nice, and you get a full size kitchen. The facility was clean and new. They have a lot of activities and a nice pool. The staff was great and seemed very attentive. One side was assisted living and the other side was independent living. It was bright, cheerful, and it didn't smell. They have water aerobics and an exercise room.
