I'm moving now into The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. I already paid the rent since the 1st of the month. It is a very nice place. It's clean, well decorated. The food is excellent. They do have a lot of things on their schedule. I have a one-bedroom apartment, 604 square feet. It's got a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and a living room. It's fine. The common areas are nice. They take people to the doctor and all that stuff, they have transportation, and I think they have outings also.

My dad moved into The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. He's been there for about a month now. That's a beautiful place. It almost feels like a hotel when you go in there. And even the restaurant looks like a fancy, French restaurant. He has his own private room. We had to provide all his furniture and everything, we did that. And he's very happy there. He wants to have people he can talk to, and he loves it. It's very fancy. It's probably the richest town in Florida. And it costs like $2500 just to rent a one bedroom, one bath there. And he has one, and it's like $3400. And he gets three meals, and for like $800, he gets the care and the medicine treatments, and he's just very happy there. It's a one bedroom, one bath, the bedroom is in a separate room, and it's totally wheelchair accessible. He loves the bathroom. He has a lot of residents that he's friends with. They've been there for ten years and they're like 98. And I think they can help with your longevity, help you live longer. They take you out once a week to either Walgreens or the Dollar Store or Ross's, things like that. They have Tuesday and Saturday bingo. They have a lot of activities. A movie every night outside, in their little theater setting, which is nice, and with refreshments. If you choose to, you can buy your own TV. They include cable, which I think is good. It costs maybe $20 a month to have your own phone. The refrigerator, microwave, and a little kitchenette. He likes his privacy most of the time, but he likes to go out. And I think it's really good for him.

The person that was supposed to give me the tour at The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch wasn't there when I arrived. It was the maintenance man who assisted me instead. The place looked good. It was a 2-story building that had lots of atriums and you could look down into the first floor. The high ceilings made it feel almost like a resort. There were small areas to sit in with a fireplace or a piano. It had a spacious sense, but it wasn't overwhelming. The decor was very nice. The rooms were well-appointed and nice. I saw one that had just been painted and re-carpeted for somebody coming in. I liked the location of this facility. It wasn't off on one of the back roads or tucked away. It was right off Lakewood Ranch Boulevard and very close to everything, very close to the hospitals and the downtown Lakewood Ranch area. What I liked most about this was that the hallways were all carpeted and very wide, and every doorway felt like you were going into an apartment from the outside. It almost looked like it was an exterior door, and this gave a sense of grandness in going into your room.

We went to The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch, and they're pretty nice. It looks like there are a lot of activities and it looks like it's kept up well and clean and all the people there are pretty friendly. They had a microwave and a little mini fridge and they said people could bring coffee makers and toasters, but they kind of didn't encourage a lot of cooking in the apartments, because a lot of the people are not good with memory. So it would be a safety thing. There was a little kitchenette, but not like an oven, stove top, or anything. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. There's a little courtyard and they had a fountain and a little walkway and a lot of plants and a little lunch room was available. If someone wanted a private lunch with their family, they could use that. There's a common area where they had a big TV and there were a lot of different little common areas. They had puzzles and there was kind of a group room where they could do flowers and have activities. And I think they even had a little movie theater area with some big lounge chairs.

We toured The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch, and it was in a great location. They have a lot of things around them, probably a little bit unique in that they have a couple of restaurants literally within walking distance. They have a food store, and they have a Publix right around the corner. They're also in a community called Lakewood Ranch, which is one of the top planned communities in the entire U.S, and they're in a really good spot, which is probably about ten minutes from one of the nicest malls in the Sarasota area. So, I would say, for somebody who is just living there as assisted, but wants to do things outside of assisted living, Windsor's in a great spot. Windsor has an activity director, they have nursing on staff 24/7, they have the theater movie room -- if you want to call it that -- they have a beauty salon, and a huge dining area. The area leading to the dining are set up almost like a house, they're set up with chairs. If people were to come visit you there, you wouldn't just have to say, "Well, let's go to my room." It's more like a home. We were able to meet with the sales director, the executive director, and their director of nursing, and it wasn't just a case of me sitting down, and them telling me about Windsor; they really wanted to know about my mom. That was different. They asked me a lot of questions about Mom, about her care needs, about her background. They were very interested in her as a person.

Our mother was in a facility up north but was not getting the care and attention we thought she should be afforded. We moved her to Florida to the Windsor and have been so very pleased with our selection. The staff are tremendous and not only are friendly and knowledgeable but genuinely care about the residents. The facility is well appointed and very homey. There are only 80 some residents so no one gets lost in the shuffle. We highly recommend this assisted living facility.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I recently visited The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch, and I was extremely impressed. I really enjoyed myself, and left feeling so good. They really have such an amazing team and facility, and you can’t beat the location. Everything you could ever need and more is right there, but it doesn’t feel like it is in a busy area. It feels nice and secluded, yet open, warm, and welcoming. The grounds are pristine, with beautiful gardens and decor. The rooms are perfect, great size, very clean, set up beautifully, and get this; pet friendly! The activity director knows his stuff, makes everything look great and fun. The staff were very professional, lots of smiles, and pleasant. Last thing, don’t get me started on the food. The Italian chef is outstanding. Basically if you’re looking for the best, you have found it.

The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch is excellent. The place is beautiful. They have the best staff I have ever been associated with. It's a wonderful place and the people are very caring. The dining area is excellent. The services are excellent. I have had several meals there with my wife and they're perfect. My wife likes that they play Bingo and she goes to several programs there. I'm very impressed with this place. Anyone looking for a place couldn't do better because it's beautiful.

The atmosphere at The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch was nice, but I didn’t like the rooms at all. There were wood floors that were not very attractive. The rooms looked sterile, but the rest of the facility was nice. It’s an older facility with comparable pricing. The staff was nice.

Windsor of Lakewood Ranch was very beautiful. The grounds were meticulous. It felt like you were in a residence rather than a facility. The only problem was that they do not accept any kind of insurance; it was private pay only. It felt very upscale, very nice, and very well-appointed. The staff was extremely caring. They had a list of activities and meals. There was one building for assisted living and another one for memory care.

My wife stayed at Windsor of Lakewood Ranch while I was out of the country. I think it was an excellent facility overall. In general, the people were very satisfied with the facility. People in their 80s and even older can be unhappy about the way they are in that particular time of their life, so to make it a really positive environment is not always easy. I think they do a nice job, in general, by having interesting things for them to do and get involved with. My wife had a rather enjoyable six weeks in there.

My parents were residents for about a year. In the beginning when they didn't need much care it was very good. Over time, things went downhill. I believe the facility is short staffed and the staff they have don't appear to be well trained. I think they are probably not well paid either. Weekend help is particularly bad. They did a survey and I gave feedback but nothing was done. There are a few aides who are very knowledgeable and really care about their residents, but most are stretched too thin. Their focus is mostly on cost. They charge for everything, including rubber gloves. What summed it up for me was when I went to turn the keys in and I was only asked "You are paid up, aren't you?" They had a very expensive 10 year anniversary party and it would have been better if they spent the money on staff education and pay. The whole experience ended up being disappointing for my parents.

There is a place in Lakewood Ranch that I liked. It was The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch, and it was very nice. I would have moved my mother there if I had the time to do that. They have new rooms that opened up. They were larger with more space for friends and family to visit. It was a larger room with a little bit more storage, and they were very nice. I was very impressed because it was much like the size of room that she had when she was in Kansas. There were some people that were lounging and playing some cards when I visited. They all seemed to be quite happy. When you see that, it makes you feel like your loved ones have the same opportunity to integrate. They'll feel like they have the freedom to do their own personal thing. The way that it was laid out had some kind of preparation to it.

The Windsor is beautiful. It’s one minute from work and four minutes from home. I feel good going there. He is watching movies at night. I am happy with the facility and the staff. They are all fabulous to all of the residents.

I have a relative who lives in this facility and absolutely loves it. Mom came from out of town and I was worried about her being the "newbie". The entire staff and residents made her feel welcome immediately. It is obvious that here is terrific team spirit in the building and dedication to the residents. The leadership team has a great amount of tenure, as does a lot of the front line workers. There is a "happy" atmosphere in the whole building. Residents are all very complimentary of the staff (which I checked out before moving mom in). I went over training with the sales director, and Legend goes above and beyond in making sure the staff knows how to take care of the elderly. The inside of the facility is pristine, no smells, no dust bunnies. The executive director knows all the residents, staff and family members by name. This is one of the best decisions I ever made for my mom. When my turn comes ~ I'm moving in!!!

On the surface, the WIndsor appears to be a wonderful facility. However, the staff turn over, lack of training, lack of supervision of patients, lack of heart is difficult to comprehend.More money is spent on fancy marketing dinners and less money on patient care while the residents are alacarte charged for many services which they still do not receive. CHeck out the number of ambulance calls for falls because no one answered the call buttons.

The Windsor is terrible; they lost his hearing aid and glasses, and they’re not brushing his teeth. He fell down and hurt his hips, but they didn’t know about it. Every week it’s something else, and it’s a nightmare. His room is awful. The food is terrible.

Windsor of Lakewood Ranch is an impressive community, but again, very expensive. It looks very appealing, very clean and well taken care of. The staff who gave me the tour knew what she was talking about and she knew how to give a good tour.

The Windsor of Lakewood was absolutely beautiful. It just did not meet my in-laws' needs. They needed a 2-bedroom suite, and they only offered one. But it was beautiful. It's absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained. It's brand new. It looked like they had great activities. We talked to some of the residents there, and they were really happy there. And they had lots of views.

Windsor of Lakewood Ranch is the one I like most. I just like its ambience. My first impression is that it was very nice and very upscale. Also my brother and sister thought it's a very good facility. My sister-in-law, who's a nurse, has worked in this facility and thought it's good too. It is also close to me. My parents seem to like this place. They're in a nice one-bedroom apartment and they are enjoying it. Their apartment is big enough for them. The staff's work ethic I think is very good. They've been very helpful. I like best that they know everybody there. I also like their food. Sometimes my parents don't like it but I like it. It's just a matter of what they're serving on that particular day. Regarding activities, my parents don't do too many activities, but they do go to sing-alongs.

I wish there was availability at Windsor Lakewood Ranch. The facility is clean, bright, and very well organized. I like the way they designed the building. They have their dining room off to one side. They have two different living rooms; one big with a television and a smaller sitting room. They have a huge activity room and a locked down area where residents could walk outside. They have a great activity director and they take the residents to weekly outings. The staff was very helpful.
