Everything is independent in Azalea Park. My first impression was it seemed like I was walking up to a hotel. It was very nice, with nice grounds. It was pleasant and peaceful. When I walked in, they had a receptionist. The receptionist also had to give me the tour because the other person wasn't there. They showed me 3 rooms that would be eligible for my pay range. I didn't even give any pay range so I don't know how they figured that one out and that kind of bothered me. I don't know how they came to that conclusion. The hurricane had just gone through so they had some construction going on. It was nice but overall, the walls are painted the same institutional beige or brown color. The colors were dark and seemed older. They said they were upgrading and they had just gotten bought out so they have new owners. The corridors were wide, which was nice. Each place had its own door and a little alcove to put the resident's name. They could also put in a flower pot or something like that. I did not try their food but I saw the dining tables and the menu. As we were leaving they had a table out front and they were giving free giveaways. This seems more like an assisted living place than independent living.

Azalea Park had lovely grounds. I liked them. That was the one I would want to go to. They had a dog park, which was important for me. The staff was really nice and very pleasant. The patients that I met in the hallway all smiled and said hi. They had facilities like a gym, a library, and a meeting room. They had a very nice-looking eating room. They were also putting in a countertop place, where you could go during the day and get a snack or a cup of coffee or something. It's the facility I liked the best. I would move there in a heartbeat. It was within our price range. It had lots of grass and tall trees.

The apartments at Azalea Park were very small. The only thing the kitchenette had was a refrigerator and a sink. They didn't have central air and heat. It was just a unit on the wall like you would have in a motel room. The place was dark. It smelled out of date. The staff was very nice and very pleasant. I was a bit surprised to learn that they were just purchased by a new company. The salesperson had only been there a month and the activity director had been there for three months. So, it sounds like there's a lot of transition going on there. They mentioned that they were going through refurbishing and doing changes as a result of the new company buying it. So, perhaps it will be better in the future. They have very few outdoor spaces for sitting, just some benches at the entranceway. They have a library and gym equipment, but it's just kind of stuck in a corner of a hall. It's not well set up.

My brother will be moving into Azalea Park. It was very clean and very inviting. The staff was really polite and personal. The whole layout was very inviting. My brother went back up and sampled the food, and he enjoyed it. They had a lot of different activities that were going on. They had groups that went places and they had groups that met there. They had a lot of stuff that my brother wasn't interested in, but they also had other groups that he was interested in. One of the things that we liked was that they were close to trails and my brother rides a bike, so it was going to be easy for him to ride a bike and they had covered parking for his car.

We are going to go with Azalea Park. The person we're working with is excellent. One of my concerns was that they didn't have 24/7 security, but they will as of July 1st. Another thing is that they have contractual CNA care, which I like. What you do is you pay for the care that you need and you don't pay for the care that you don't need. So that's important. In regular traditional assisted living, which my husband was in, it was so limited, and I didn't realize how limited it was. And this place is going to offer me what I need versus what I don't need. You pay for what you need and what's required and I like that. I like the fact that it's easily accessible to everyone. It has an atrium in the middle. It's only three stories. From every story, you can see down into the atrium, which is like the huge lobby of the whole senior living, and I like that. It has really wide hallways. They offer studio apartments as well as one-bedrooms. I was interested in the studio, something small for my husband to get around with his electric wheelchair. So that's another reason. The location is really good for me. The room has a small area for the kitchen, and it's got a refrigerator, a small sink, and a counter. I can bring in a microwave, but it's all part of the living area, so it's not a separate room. My husband doesn't have to go from room to room; it's easily accessible, and I like that. It's not carpeted, and I like that, too. So, it's going to be easy to keep clean. The bathrooms are handicap accessible. If you want to step out and sit in a chair, they have a beautiful courtyard area. My husband would have an entrance from the hallway and a doorway that goes outside. It is lockable, but if he wanted, he could sit outside off of his apartment. I like that one, too. The staff who gave the tour was not just a salesperson. She has been a director of a nursing facility, so she has done this before on different levels. She has 20-something years of experience, so I appreciated the fact. And she has been with this company for seven years, so it's not like she's brand new. I have a lot of faith in her and trust her. She has a great background in it, and knows the difference between all the facilities. So I appreciated that.

Our visit was great, lunch was amazing, we received a pie to take with us, it was absolutely unexpected that we would like a community so much, that I decided to move my sister into Azalea Park the same day..

Azalea Park was very beautifully situated. It's in this very nice little section in Lakeland and it seemed very big. I saw a couple of residents and everybody seemed very content and happy to be there. They had yoga in the morning several times a week, a movie night with popcorn in their activities room, and some crafts. The common areas didn't seem very comfortable to me. Everything was clean enough, but there were books all over the place in their little library and the activity room that they had just didn't look like a comfortable place to be in. They have a rec room, but it's just an open space where they had a ping pong table right next to a pool table that seemed crowded.

My father-in-law lived here and this was the best decision ever made. He became so much more mobile and came out of depression. We are so thankful we moved him here.

We toured Azalea Park for my father. I thought it has a hometown feel. The residents that I came in contact with, and the employees were extremely friendly. I worked directly with Frank. He was knowledgeable, and he was inquisitive about what the needs of my fathers were, his likes and dislikes, to ensure that it would be a fit for both. It's independent living, but we would also have some additional home care. My father has the VA already coming in and helping him with his hygiene. They will continue to work with him if he's moved to this facility. The VA would be able to continue going into his apartment there, and aiding with his personal hygiene (like showering and bathing). Frank gave us the tour, he was very informative, was really easy to talk to, and genuinely seemed to care about the residents. We looked at the suite which appeared to be more like a hotel room. I could see it work for some, but I was particularly looking at the 1-bedroom. It really looked like a 1-bedroom apartment that you would see in downtown Tampa. It was quaint, nice, and good-sized. I thought the open-type dining area was nice. I thought it was really nice that the dining area was set up like a dining room type of area, and it was wide enough. I was worried about his wheelchair getting around, and there seemed to be enough space to get around. I've seen the TV room. They have a library. They have a kind of poker/pool table type of fun activity room. There's a lot of amenities for a senior to enjoy.

It was a very nice tour experience at Azalea Park. The people were very friendly and the staff was friendly, so it was a great experience. The rooms were fine, but small for my dad. The layout was an open concept, so it was spacious.

Everyone is so friendly and caring. The staff go out of their way to ensure the residents are safe, happy and cared for. The grounds are always so well-groomed and the interior is clean, neat and smells fresh! So thankful my mom chose to live here. You can't beat the location either!

Excellent staff. These staff members truly care for the residents. It's not just a nice place to stay and live, it's a place where the residents are loved and cherished. It's a home, not just a building to stay in! Best in Polk County!

Azalea Park is an outstanding independent living home. The friendliest, caring and compassionate staff make each day a happy place for their residents. They have plenty of activities and entertainment to keep residents active. They have a bus that takes them shopping or to a doctor's visit whenever restrictions aren't in place. They have been 100% Covid-19 free during this pandemic and I am at peace that my Mom has been so well care for at this residence for the past 3 years. I highly recommend and a big "Thank You" to all the lovely staff members!

We visited Azalea Park. I really like their room sizes and just the overall atmosphere. It was very nice. They have different activities for the seniors to do. They have some outings. Once a week they would go to the grocery store, and once a week they would go to doctor's visits. It was very appealing for my mother. We were highly impressed with the staff and with the facility.

Azalea Park was beautiful inside. It was a really nice place. The dining room looked like a country club. The staff was very good and very helpful. The apartments were a little smaller. They had a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom.

It's next door to where my mother currently lives, and she has had some people that lived in her community that have moved over at Azalea Park, so she has been over there to visit. We went and visited the rooms ourselves for that one. The staff were very friendly. The rooms and apartments were very nice and spacious, and I think it just felt less institutional. Some of them had a separate bedroom and living area. The dining area was very nice and bright, there was a sitting area there very nearby, and they had some entertainment going on. They had a reading area like a library and a game area. They had someone playing a piano in the lobby. They were singing, some people were dancing, and others were just sitting around listening. It just seemed very homey. It just felt like it was a living area that people could feel comfortable in and not so much an area where people were ill. With security, we had to check in with somebody as soon as we arrived. Just inside the front door was the farthest we got before we had somebody talk to us.

We liked everything about Azalea Park. We visited quite a few places, and we really liked this place better than anything. The food was great. What we like the most about the dining room; it was like a restaurant. They have different variety of rooms; they have studio apartment, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom.

Azalea Park was very nice. The rooms were small but brighter, cheerier, newer, and updated. It was more expensive. The lady that I was working with was ok. They have everything you can imagine: bingo, water activity, exercise classes and shuttles. The dining area was very pretty, nice, clean and organized. The residents seemed very happy, they were all cheerful and invited me to see their place.

Mom chose Azalea Park because it was close to us and she liked the friendship and camaraderie of the staff and the residents. The staff is very friendly and helpful. She has been there for about six months now and the facility is excellent. It's very clean. They have a gourmet chef and their meals are very good. I know they have games and some live entertainers that come in to the facility. They also have church activities.

I was invited for a lunch at Azalea Park and the food was good. I think that's a very nice service that they do. I sat with a few residents for lunch and they were very nice. The facility's infrastructure is very attractive. The entry way is kind of three-story open area which is very welcoming and very pretty. And then off of that is a very big dining hall with a lot of tables in it.

Azalea Park was beautiful and excellent. I really liked it. It was like a cruise ship. They had a balcony that goes all the way around and when you go up there, you could see the whole dining area below. It was very open and comfortable. The people there were wonderful and nice and I loved them. The staff was nice. They had a fitness room and library. They had activities. Their units had a small kitchenette with a microwave and a sink. They took the residents to doctor's apartment. However, they were very far from where my family lived.

I was very impressed with your facility, from the decor to the personnel, to the food. I'm looking for a retirement facility for myself and will be bringing my son here, so he can see exactly what I type of place I want to retire in. I felt right at home from the minute I got here. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I had lunch in the dining room and was very happy with the cuisine as well as the wait staff. The residents at my table had been residents for at least 10 years and they couldn't have been nicer. All of the residents that I viewed seemed to be very happy and all looked as though they were active and involved. I'm looking forward to my next visit with my son. Linda
