My mom is happy at WillowCreek Assisted Living. We go there quite often, and we think that it's gonna be a good fit. They're doing laundry and meals, it's a secure facility so they can't get out. They help her with bathing and going to the bathroom. It depends, if she has a good day they leave alone; if she has a bad day, they give total care. With whatever she needs, they're totally flexible. They are watching her health, and if there's any change in her health, they call me immediately. She had to get to the hospital recently and they called me and let me know. They're very attentive, they communicate and they pay attention. The facility is kind of neat. It's built like a log cabin and has a very nice layout. They keep it clean and they stay on top of it. The food is nice, I've been there when they eat and it's really nice food. If she wants anything, she can get them at any time she wants, like coffee. Just get it right then. There's interaction, they're always talking. They keep them structured like at bedtime and mealtime. It's kind of like herding cats sometimes, but they do try to keep their life very structured. What I like most about the location is that it's not in the middle of town, so it's easy to get to. There's not a lot of traffic. But it's also very close to the nearest hospital, maybe five minutes from the hospital, and that's an important thing. So that's probably the biggest plus, it's access to emergency care. The staff is very helpful.

We went to the memory care section of Still Waters of Lake City. The tour experience was good. They were able to show me actual rooms and gave me the opportunity to talk to residents. They can walk through freely without any restrictions and talk to people. The facility was in good shape, very clean, and there was no smell. There were two activities per day. They had a secured garden that the residents could visit and a screened-in porch on the secure section. The cost was good compared to other places. I just wished there was more staff.

Still Waters is a memory care system where they lock the door, and I don’t want my wife to be exposed to that. The rooms were big enough for a bed. It smelled like urine. I didn’t stay long there because I didn’t like it.

Still Waters has a high rate of employee turnovers. They're not organized, and they're understaffed. I think that's their problem; they don't have enough staff to care for everyone properly. I would say if it's more of just assisted living where the resident's still able to walk around and talk, I would give it maybe a four. But for the dementia wing, I'm not pleased with that.

Stillwaters is an excellent assisted living community. Residents at stillwaters are treated with dignity and respect by a caring and compassionate staff. Activities are provided that do far more than pass time, they provide social, mental, and spiritual enrichment for residents, staff and volunteers. The residents care for one another and create a close knit community. Volunteers from the community and affiliated church help make this a wonderful and dignified place to live. Administrators at Stillwaters are focused on resident wellbeing above all other concerns and frequently show great acts of benevolence to minister to their wonderful community. Staff treats each resident like a member of their own family and has always made my family member feel special as if he is everyone's favorite resident. There are many wonderful visitors who love and help care for residents they had no previous connection to. This place has a true sense of family and Christian community.

I liked most of the staff, the facility was always clean. The only thing I that didn't like was the fact that they had teenagers taking care of elderly people.
