Brookdale Cypress Lake is the best community in Fort Myers Florida. We moved our dad here six months ago and he has made more friends and keeps so busy with all the activities and happy hours. He gets three meals a day and they also do his laundry for him. This has been a big weight lifted off all of our family. We are so happy with Brookdale Cypress Lake.

My Father is at Brookdale and I couldn’t be happier ! His care is top notch and the staff truly care for all residents, you can clearly see it in the way they work. The executive director is one of the best and you will see her all over the building wearing many different hats. The business office is spot on and is always ready ti assist me with any help I have needed! Everyone that works here hss love in their hearts !!!

My father has moved into Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. Our experience has been very positive. They assist him with pretty much everything. They monitor his health and his well-being. They make sure that he's attended to because he's incontinent, so they're monitoring that. It's perfect for him. I've been to several places, and this particular place is more suited to his needs, and it's very clean. The ratio of residents to workers is low, and I'm very happy with the attention that he's receiving. Value for money is excellent. I was very surprised by how economical it is to keep him there. I was expecting to pay almost twice the amount it was costing me, so I was very, very happy. I did go visit another location, but it was too isolated and I wanted him to be more in a social environment, which is what I see at Brookdale.

I would highly recommend Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. I liked the cleanliness of the place, the efficiency of the care, and the wholesome atmosphere. They knew what they were talking about. They had training in memory care.

We met several staff at Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. Many have been there for a very long time. They rarely have a turnover of staff. The lady that really influenced my decision was Lorie, and I had been talking with her since January of this year. She was very influential and helpful. We met others in the same facility. Tammy was one, as well as Amy. There was Chuck the maintenance guy, Betty at the desk, and nurse Jackie who did a written assessment of us. Everybody was so pleasant and so helpful. We just felt that homey and cozy feeling at this facility. We thought that everybody truly cared. The facilities seem to be in a decent condition. They are renovating the unit that we are going to be taking there. They are painting it to suit my color choice. It is a two-bedroom, two bath unit with a living area and a kitchen. It is 1059 square feet. The dining room had linen tablecloths on it. A server would bring your meals to you. We were given the menu for that day. You would have choices of the food you want. I think they offered five different choices of the main meal, and you could have salad or soup. You always had three different dessert choices. Basically, not everybody has to eat the same thing. The whole facility is a little smaller than some of the others that we toured. and that's what we liked about it. It wasn't overwhelming, and it didn't have the long hallways to walk to an elevator. The colors made it more homey and cozy. They had trees and grass outside, and they had a parking lot out in the front entry. It looked very neat and clean. They had trimmed up trees and things before we went. Our unit looks out onto a golf course and three lakes.

I like Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. The only issue with them is that they don't take any Medicaid. However, I was impressed that they were the only facility that said they were going to reach out to my mother's primary physicians for medical record information. Their rates are in line with others. I thought their service fee was a little bit high for the top line. The staff who gave me the tour, his name is Tony, and I was impressed because of the detail like he has questions that others didn't. The rooms were the nicest and the largest I had seen. They had a full kitchen, which I think is good, and then I'm concerned about a full kitchen, so it was a positive and negative at the same time. I believe they were the nicest rooms and some of the public offerings were the nicest, too. I saw some residents playing games. I believe this is the one that had a general store that the residents sort of work or man selling candy and ice cream and things like that. They had a billiard room and a craft room.

Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake is very well-run and has very nice people. I was pleased and the residents seemed happy. I think it's clean, it's well run, and the people are fabulous. That's all you need. The staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help in any way. Everything was nice, neat and clean, and in place.

Our experience with Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake was good. The rooms were okay. I just did not like the fact that the place was so big and you had to get on an elevator. I did not get to look at all of the rooms, but the ones I looked at were okay. They had an exercise room, and they had a kitchen on different floors. The facility was nice, and their dining area was nice. The staff who did the tour was very nice and very informative.

My mother has been a resident of Brookdale Fort Myers for a while now. They are going through some changes and though I am not really keen on the level of activities, I understand that it's the virus that keeps them from doing things, but they basically sit in their warmth all day. There's been a lot of changes recently in staff members. My mother's accommodation is very good. They have the pool and they do these little excursions on their bus. They have a happy hour a couple of times a week, they have bingo, and the chair exercises. My mom has a balcony, a screened down balcony. The location is very convenient. It's a good place, but I would be cautious. It's lost some of its momentum and I realize it's because of the shortages and the virus.

Please reconsider putting your loved one at Brookdale. Our mother fell and was left on the floor for hours. She was bruised when they got her to the ER and the doctors were concerned about the care at Brookdale. It is the biggest regret of my life that she ever went to this place. No one from the facility ever called to see how she was. Horrible place, horrible staff. Look elsewhere.

I live in Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake in a two bedroom, two bath apartment. I would say the care is fair to good. My wife was suffering for several months and I didn't think they did enough in terms of pain control for her. Other than that I guess I can't complain too much about it. They definitely need more help. I think they should get some per diem care. They're short-handed and I don't think they want to hire anybody because of the pandemic; their people are really too busy. The staff is pretty good. I like more raw vegetables with my meals than they provide. I understand why they don't do it, it's probably because a lot of people here have bad teeth and can't do a lot of vegetables. I try to buy some elsewhere and keep them in my refrigerator so that I can eat them. I think my apartment has a good layout. If you look at it from the standpoint of assisted living, I guess the value for money is OK. Since I don't need assisted living, I should be able to live in a place that is less expensive than this, even within this building, but I just haven't pursued that yet. You pay more for assisted living even if you don't have contracts on certain things that you would need as an assisted living person. There are not many amenities. It was better over at the other place where I was. I think it is pretty much age and health related because there were more things that I would do over at the other place than here. I think the amenities are lacking. They don't really have much of an exercise room here. In fact, until recently, they only had three machines, but I still say it is rather limited. They do have some little sitting rooms and little rooms where you can go for a group of people. They have bingo and mostly sedentary type activities. I noticed right away when I moved from the other facility to here the difference in the physical abilities of the people because there are many, many more people using walkers and wheelchairs here than over there where I was before.

When you leave the community of Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake, there are residents sitting outside. So I talked to them and kind of interviewed them myself about the care. It was sort of mixed in, I almost felt like I was pulling into an apartment complex. So I was confused when I first got there. They seemed to have activities for the residents. They also had set hours for eating, and it wasn't an open dining time. It was kind of an older community, and after seeing 2 other communities, this one didn't feel as comfortable to me. It wasn't as light, and bright, and cheery as the other places I visited. I would suggest that they try to lighten it up to make it more cheery because it's kind of drab and dreary. The girl that toured me was very nice, she knew her product well.

I chose Brookdale Fort Myers for my husband, and it was terrible. The staff is not very friendly. The layout of the room is good, it has a bathroom right off the bedroom, and so it's convenient. It's like an apartment, he has a full kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, a bedroom, and a patio. They had exercise in the morning and sometimes card games that the people organize themselves. It's a very nice-looking place, but there's a lot missing. They have a pool, but so far, I haven't seen anybody using the pool, and they're not taking advantage of the things they have there. The food is pretty decent, they have a pretty good variety, like salads, soups, and desserts, so it's a well-rounded meal. One of the nicest things is they have choices, and they have four or five things you could choose every night. One of the big problems we had was the air conditioner was not working correctly. I complained from the first day, and every time I went, it was warm, it was 85 degrees or higher, and it took five weeks before they decided that maybe I was right. The director was not very nice and insisted it was my fault or my husband's fault that the air conditioner was not working correctly.

The assisted living facility at Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake was nice. The memory care unit was a little concerning. The assisted living rooms were similar to any kind of dormitory living setup, and it's reasonable. It had a small size bedroom, living area and a bathroom. The staff seemed friendly. The dining area seemed nice, and the facility seemed clean. There was a patio, grill and seating areas out there.

My mother inlaw has been in the facility for 4 years. If you ask why we do not move her, it is difficult for a 93 year old to relocate. For her it would be a real set back. Elders do not readjust easily. So you put up with the short falls of the facility. On my last visit her room was unclean. The floors were filthy, they were sticky with dirt along the base boards, the carpets were dirty and window were dirty. The elevators were the same, the public bathrooms the same. In the past we have had issues with the attendants not responding to calls, pretending not to receive the calls, in the evening you can not find an attendant , complaints of bad food, her not getting meds and baths. The price increases every year. Her room rate is now up to $4,348 a month, not including personal services and her services are up too, to a total of $4,931 mo. It increases every year. Because they know how hard it is to move a resident.

I liked Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. It's very nice. I observed the activities and I thought they did an excellent job. The rooms were smaller and it's an older facility. The staff is very good and I was very impressed with them. They have outdoor pool. The location is good for me as it's close to my home.

Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake was clean. There were active people in it. It was newer, so things were up-to-date. It was a nice facility all around. The apartment was nice and a good size. They had all kinds of activities. They had a crafts room, a game room, a pool, and buses to take people places.

We visited several local assisted living facilities before settling on this one. The staff is friendly and helpful and treat my dad like family. It is a large facility, however, but my dad needed more of a perceived independent and apartment living situation at this stage of his life. There are plenty of activities, although I wish there was a way to get more of them involved in them more often. The communication is sometimes not the best, but most of our issues have been resolved over time. For now, it is the best solution for him and he seems happy.

We are on a waiting list at Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. I thought it was very nice and well kept. The people we met there were very nice. We didn’t even tell them that we were coming and they had somebody to show us around. They had a nice swimming pool that was only four or five feet deep, which I thought was wonderful. Also, the thing that really made me want this more than the other ones is that they have a second floor with things to do, like arts and crafts, a place to buy coffee, and pool. It was decorated in bright blues, reds, whites, and yellows such that it made you feel happy. It was really very energizing, and I thought this is the kind of place that I want. It was a little cheaper than the other two that we visited. After June 1st when an apartment comes up, this is where are going. The place where they eat together was set up for the next meal with linen napkins on the table and it looked very nice.

We’ve tentatively picked Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. They suited us best location-wise. It’s near my son, and they accept veteran’s benefits which we will need to help with the cost. I’ve talked to them several times. In fact, they called me the other day just to check and see how we were.

This new director is the worst in any business I have ever seen. The lies and untruths she brought with her is a joke. We visit a relative 4 times a month. Filthy, smells, bugs and very unclean rooms just takes the cake. They have poor people with memory care loss answering the phone in the memory care unit. Some times they cry for help when they answer the phone there. We are pulling him out in the next month, or sooner. If you want this to happen, "you would never want this place for your loved ones". They raise the care every 3 months and never do anything to help.your parent. This place should be shut down "period". When you complain to the director, nothing gets done.. Or she is "NEVER THERE". I could not even rate the pathetic place. At nights and holidays this place is under staffed. I been there and at different times too see it happen. Very, very sad.

My brother moved in the first week of December to Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. He has a nice, little apartment and goes to two separate dining rooms: one at breakfast, and one at dinner and lunch. He sits outside and talks to the people and goes to the Friday afternoon cocktail party. He was honored right after he got there as one of their veterans. He doesn’t do much, but he does a lot more than he did living at home in Texas, so I’m very pleased. The staff is absolutely lovely, and they tell me when I’m there that he’s doing well. He socializes better and seems happier and more alert. We’re all 15 minutes away, which is a big advantage.

My parents are at Brookdale Cypress Lake, in the assisted living section and the care there is non-existent. The living conditions are so bad that we've had to hire an outside cleaning service for their apartment. The staff has literally told my mother, after she has asked to go to the bathroom, to "go ahead and wet yourself, you're wearing Depends, aren't you?" Change of the Director meant nothing, still the same poor service for seniors. This past week, after visiting them, we saw the cleaning crew across the hall and asked if they would be in to my parent's apartment next. They assured us that they would but they were a no-show. Understand that this is a business but is this how you would like YOUR parents to be treated?

My mom was at Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. It’s very sad because I really did like this facility a lot; even the memory care unit. With most places, the memory care units are not good, but I like this one. My mom went an entire month, and they didn’t give her any medicines. She is diabetics, and hypertensive. She has so many issues, but not one called me the entire month that she was in there. For an entire month, they did not give her any medications even though they were provided with the medical kit by myself. Whenever I wanted to see my mom, they avoided me. Her room was very nice. The rooms in the assisted living facility would have been nicer. They were like little apartments.

My mom is in the memory unit of Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. I am very happy with her being there. The nursing care is wonderful. They are very attentive and accommodating to my mom. I am very comfortable with them. They have different activities going on. Over Christmas, they brought in singers and entertainment for the residents. My mom is in charge of their bingo, and they have exercises. I have eaten there, and the food is good.

I really can't say anything was wrong with any facilities that I visited. I thought they were all very nice, and the people were nice. They did a nice job of presenting things, and their recommendations were all good. I really don't have any complaints on any of the facilities, and I thought they were all very nice. Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake was very cute. It was fine, and everything was very nice. From just going there one day I thought it was fine. Everything looks good to me. It looked clean, and the rooms looked clean. The staffs were excellent too. I give them a five star as far as the visit, seeing the room, showing the facilities, and everything else of that nature.

We were looking for a place for senior housing. I think we called ahead so we had an appointment at Brookdale, and their manager took us up and down the several floors, and we looked into the areas where people gather and that sort of thing, so we did see the whole place. I believe we went into an empty room, and it reminded me of a senior apartment that a friend of mine is in in Massachusetts. We saw an empty room, and it is not going to look homey if there was nothing in it. I would not call it spacious. We went through that one time and had a tour. The manager who took us through was very nice, she showed us the place, and we did look in the dining room. We saw the rooms where they do some of the activities. There was a computer area and a library that might have been separate from the computer area. There was like a hobby room and places like that. I think the area was a good area. I wouldn't be concerned about that area at all. I think it needed a little remodeling, like in the decorating and that kind of thing. It maybe needed a little sprucing up.

My mother is in here and actually, they have been very good. My mother is in memory care right now, and I think it is a very good facility. It is just far from me, but other than that I will recommend it. She is in a small room. She goes in there on respite, and in order to do that, she has to share a room with another woman. I ask her and she is able to get a private room, but because my dad has just passed away, she kind of wants company there. I will say the rooms are small but adequate. Mom seems to be happy there. It is not as fancy as the one she stayed before, however, I do like the fact that in memory care, they come and take you, and everybody seems to be out and about. If they need memory care, it is an excellent program. My mom has the tendency to sleep during the day and hang-up all night, what they did is they actually lock her out of her room during the day so she will participate and now she's like the queen of bingo. So, she's doing very well there. I really don't want to move her. I really recommend Emeritus. They do art therapy, bingo, and bingo has prices. My mother has a whole arm full of bracelet. They keep them active. They do movies. What I noticed is that I really like is all of the rooms go out to the main area, and in the main area they have the dining room. There is a big living room area where they watch movies and TV, and what I noticed right away is everyone is out of their room and everyone is socializing. What I really like is everyone is chatty, and mom is having a good time there. The way they have it set-up is that everything happens in the middle. It is almost like a square of rooms around the center. They can go outside to a garden area, and no one has to supervise them. It has a garden area, a dining area, and a huge screen TV area with couches. There is a lot of action to attract people. The rooms are small, but in a way it is good because there is no reason to hang in the room. The staff seems very nice there. I love the set up there, I just wish the rooms are a little bigger.

It was an older facility. It wasn't as bright as the other facility we saw. One of the positives though is that they had many sitting areas, like little outdoor areas where the residents could relax and congregate. That was probably the nicest thing. The facility was clean. There were two different styles available for rooms. They had a kitchenette. They were pretty nice. The rooms that we saw overlooked one of the holes on the golf course, so that was very nice. I didn't pay as much attention to their activities, but they did have activities. They would take them out and they would have opportunities to go out for shopping. With regard to the woman who gave us a tour, I felt that she was just doing her job. I just didn't get the sincerity that I got from other places.

It was very positive and welcoming. Everybody was very polite and nice. You could really tell that it was a very friendly and family-oriented environment. Everything was very clean, and from my mom's perspective, she was very comfortable with it. She was very surprised as to the accommodations. My mom was more interested at the therapy portion, the physical therapy that she needed for her day-to-day activities. There were girls who played cards, too. She was very pleased, and she was very happy with the people she met there. If my mom would be going anywhere, this would be the one she would be going into.

It was a multi-building facility, and it was the most impressive that we had seen. The rooms themselves, which were small apartments, were very nice. There was a central dining room, and we had a meal there with some people. This was definitely a place we would consider as opposed to our home, when we would make that kind of decision.

Four story recently updated facility with weight room, billiard and poker room, swimming pool plus lots more. Several terraces and dining rooms. Sundry Shop, Chapel.and library. Scheduled activities daily for the residences. I found it to be a bit overwhelming in my mother's situation with multi floors and elavators. She is 94 years old and would just add to her confusion and dismay.

The lady who showed me around was nice. She gave me a very good tour of the facility which was very clean and neat. She followed up with phone calls and stayed in touch with me for a good month to six week. I found her very nice and helpful. The residents of the place looked very happy and cheerful.

I was very impressed. I like the environment. If they had what we needed, I would have been interested with them. It has very clean and very pleasant surroundings. Everybody that I had contact with seemed very pleasant.
