We put my mom into American House Fort Myers. So far, so good. It has only been a month, but it appears that it's going to be a good fit. The food is good, too. They just have bingo now, and from what I understand, once they get past COVID, there will be a lot more things, but right now it sounds very limited. They have a pool, a screened-in porch, a little putting green, shuffleboard, and a big fireplace.

If you have a loved one who requires Memory Care DO NOT take them to AH in Fort Myers. Medications not administered or ordered properly, revolving door of employees to include Administrative staff, filthy rooms that include cockroaches, lack of privacy for residents, No administrators in the resident area full time, and NO communication with loved ones.

We will be putting Dad to American House Fort Myers and we chose it just because of the newness of the facility, the cleanliness, and the amount of residents that they currently had was a smaller amount. The care ratio was very good. It was like 7 residents to 1 caregiver and we liked it for those reasons. As far as the drawbacks or what I like the least about it, I don't have much of an opinion on that because there wasn't anything that stood out to be subpar compared to the other places that I visited. As we get dad in there and kind of see how he does, there may be something that might arise. Everybody's been very friendly. Theresa, who is the intake coordinator, has been very helpful for us and helping us with the process in getting him in and all of his medical information in line. That all went very smoothly. The rooms have a nice open layout, like a studio layout. They have nice floors and they're clean. They have handicap-accessible walk-in showers, which is very nice. So, we anticipate that there's going to be a lot of room for Dad there. We looked over the menu and we learned that they have an in-house chef and they have meals planned out for the entire month, which we appreciated. We liked the fact that he could have a refrigerator and keep food in his room, which is going to work out well, but we haven't tried the food yet. They have a nice, closed courtyard. It's very expansive and it's open around the clock for anyone in memory care to access, which is going to work out well for my dad. They have a nice rec room that we were impressed with. They have two in memory care. One that has kind of an open kitchen where they have food and all kinds of snacks laid out throughout the day. Then they also have one that has a television and a nice fish tank there. I didn't see anything as far as the pool or exercise room, but we wouldn't need that anyway.

We toured American House Fort Myers. The staff was outstanding. It seemed to be a more modern and open facility. To partner with our doctors to help assess was very helpful. We got to meet with one of their psychologists. We met her unofficially in the hallway. She stopped what she was doing, and she talked to us. She went into a little bit of detail about some of the things they could do to help evaluate my mother. It was just very helpful. The facility was a very impressive thing. I could move into the American House myself. It was so clean and modern. If you didn't know better, you think you were just in a modern condominium complex. There was very little indication that you were in a care facility of any kind. I couldn't fault that place at all.

American House Fort Myers is the one I have chosen for my mom. Not only did I get a decent tour, but I went to the side and spoke to actual residents. That wasn't part of the tour, but I spoke to other residents. I went to them and sat down at their table in the cafeteria or just stopped them in the hallway and I asked them what their opinions were on American House Fort Myers, and every single one of them was very happy about that particular home. Everybody was talking about how happy they were. They had told me that they had gone to other places, and they weren't happy, but everybody that I spoke to at American House was just extremely happy and satisfied, along with the fact that I was very satisfied with what I saw. That's what made me decide to go to American House Fort Myers. It was completely, absolutely clean. While I was there, they were even painting certain parts of the exterior only because it was five years old. So they're constantly cleaning and making it look fresh. It's refreshing. And the pool was sparkling. I met a couple of activities coordinators, and they were enjoying their job. I met a cook from the kitchen, and he enjoys cooking different meals and putting his own little twist into the menu. He was a very good cook. Unfortunately, they can't over-salt or over-spice their meals because a lot of the elderly don't like spicy foods, but they have certain condiments there, and you can also have your families bring in condiments to spice up the food, which is already pretty good. It's a beautiful choice of different foods.

We toured American House Fort Myers. It was very nice. My parents wanted a two-bedroom, two-bath, and they didn't have one available at the time. So we were on the waiting list. The staff was very, very nice, very friendly, and very accommodating. It's a newer facility, so it had larger hallways and higher ceilings. You just didn't feel so cramped. They had lots of social activities planned.

American House Fort Myers was a vibrant community. It's like a resort-style setting. It was new. The residents' rooms were all beautiful. The amenities were exceptional. They had an outdoor pool. For outdoor activities, they had a shuffleboard or bocce ball, but the pool caught my eye. They had a full theater. They had activities. They had an activity room where the residents could do different crafts. Their workout center was phenomenal and pretty extensive with the workout equipment. They also would do physical therapy there. The residents seemed very vibrant and at home. The staff was great, knowledgeable, and professional. They had an outdoor garden.

I toured American House Fort Myers and I liked everything about it. The facilities were extremely nice, the people there were very welcoming, and everything was clean. The staff that I met was extremely helpful. They have a theater, a gym, and outside facilities that are secure and have walking paths.

American House Fort Myers was a much bigger place compared to the other one that we saw. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice, helpful, and informative. She showed us all the parts of the building. They had a pool, a library, a game area, and an arts and crafts area. I didn't like that their assisted living apartments were all on the fifth floor, but their facilities were lovely.

American House Fort Myers was very nice. The rooms were clean, small, and basic. The staff was very thorough and caring. It was assisted living and I was looking at just three meals a day and help with medications. The menu looked extensive, and I asked two people who live there and they said the food was great. There was a theater, a library, and a pool area. The facility was very clean and in good condition.

We toured American House Fort Myers. It was so different from what we were looking for. It was huge. It had like three or four levels. It was beautifully decorated. There was a big cafeteria, and they had a lot of amenities, but it wasn't a fit for my mom. And it was very, very expensive. I think it was like twice what we were paying for the other facility. It's really hard to rate it because I don't want people to think it's a bad place. It just wasn't a fit for us. It was beautiful and it was new. It just wasn't what we were looking for. I would give it a 5 even though we didn't pick it, it was a very nice place. The staff who toured us around was fantastic. She was great with follow-up, and in the end, I just had to tell her we weren't ready at that point, and that was maybe a year ago. It was absolutely beautiful. It was new. It was very upmarket and very trendy in a good way. But it was probably more sophisticated than my mother.

I like American House Fort Myers a lot. I believe it would be a great place for people looking for assisted living without memory impairment. The residents I saw who had gone to the jazz event were still there, and they were having a great time. At the end of my tour, they were getting ready for dinner, and people were going into the dining room. It was like people at a country club going up talking to each other, joking around, having a good time, and then going to their tables, and they tended to be sitting with other couples. I am guessing that is probably the closest to normal living in a country club kind of community, but people who are getting memory support are probably not going to benefit from all of that. My mother would not experience that as much as my father. My father would probably enjoy it. My mother may enjoy it, but she's not going to enjoy the things I just commented on. The staff who gave me the tour was knowledgeable. Theresa was good. The room was very nice, and I believe they were a very good size. They had a lot of activities, but that day, they had the jazz festival. They had a very nice-looking lobby.

I like the fact that American House Fort Myers had in-house PT and OT. They also had a nurse practitioner, psychologist, podiatrist, and a physician that comes to the facility to check on the residents. The tour was very thorough; I got a good sense of the place. The staff was very informative. They had a gym in place, and they're a newer facility that's just built.

Our favorite one was American House Fort Myers. We liked how they had a double room, but they had separate spaces. I was impressed with their facility. I like the setup of everything, and that was our top pick. The staff was just very friendly and helpful. The room was two rooms and one bigger room versus the other ones where they were sharing one living area with two beds in the same room. They had a beauty salon, a courtyard, and a nice outside area that we liked from my mom. I looked at the memory care.

American House Fort Myers was the one we liked the best. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I think it had a full kitchen. Some of them had a low countertop space that you could eat at and others had a small two seater table. The dining area was beautiful, well done, well furnished, and very pretty (as was the pool area and outdoor area). They had a craft room. It was open, bright, and airy. The people were so friendly. It just had a different feeling than some of them.

American House Fort Myers was nice, but I guess it was towards a younger person, there were a lot of activities my mother would never use. It's a little noisy I thought, it was so open and bright. I met the sales guy, he was fine, he did a good job. You're paying for a lot that you don't need is my problem with that place, for somebody that's 91, but for someone younger it's fine.

We looked at American House Fort Myers for respite, but their respite care is limited to 30 days. The room style is a little bit better for my mom because it has a bedroom that is attached to a bathroom. The staff was very polite and friendly. They have a library, a pool, a putting green, a bocce court, a coffee bar, a theater, and a workout/physical therapy room. If you're still getting physical therapy, your physical therapist can come there and you can do it in the facility there. You don't have to leave to go to physical therapy. The facility was very up-to-date, very clean, and looked very new.

American House Fort Myers was very clean and all of the amenities that anybody would need were there. All of the staff was very nice and friendly and the patients were well-groomed. Some were walking around, which is what I like. They're not just thrown in a wheelchair. The price was good and the manager there is very well-qualified for her job. At first, I was looking for memory care and then, as my husband got tested, it was going to be assisted living. All the activities change per day and they also have cognitive activities. The surrounding was very clean and very beautiful with light cheerful colors. There was no odor, either. It was a happy place.

We found American House Fort Myers for my cousin because it was new and fresh-looking, and they seemed very friendly and caring. The food is okay, the care has been very good, normally they do have activities, but they had a shutdown. They have a nice gym, a beautiful pool, shuffleboard, and bocce court. It's very clean.

I visited American House. Their assisted living is beautiful. It's a new, very nice, and it's gorgeous. It looks like a hotel. They also showed me the studio and the 1-bedroom, they're both very nice, the lay out is very simple and very classy, but it's beautiful. They have a little area, very specific, very cozy, it's nice, and I liked it. I didn't do the outdoor area cause that specific facility had a lot of closed areas because of Covid, so I didn't get to see all of their amenities. She told me there was a barbershop, I didn't get to see that, their gym, the physical therapy area, cause obviously they're being cautious cause of the Covid situation. The lady that showed me around in American house, she was really nice, showed me all the floors, the dining area, and what each area are. Also the staff is friendly. When everybody acknowledges you it becomes a more homier situation. We walk through the facility. They had housekeeping people there and stuff, but they just carry on their own thing. That's really different, even if you're housekeeping, at least say ''Hi''. That facility is gorgeous, it's brand new, looks like a hotel, and it doesn't even look like a facility.

I liked American House Fort Myers very much. But it had amenities that my brother wouldn't have used, like a swimming pool. It was lovely, but he would never use that so why pay for things you're not going to use. It was lovely and I liked it, but it costs a little more money for things he wouldn't use. The place itself is beautiful and very glamorous, like a resort. The staff didn't seem to focus, while they were touring me, as much on the care as they did on their facilities. Yes, they had a beautiful building, but we wanted to know if my brother will be cared well too. So that's why we chose another community. I saw where they eat, they have a fixed window for eating like 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours midday and 2 hours in the evenings. So they're more restrictive during mealtimes.

My father stayed at American House Fort Myers and the entire staff, from the executive director down, were awesome, very caring, very accommodating, and just really nice. They're all wonderful people. They have an entertainment director, and we were so pleased with their services that we're donating my father's $43,000 organ to their facility for the residents to enjoy. His room was wonderful, very nice, clean, and ready for him when we moved him in there. It was well kept and extremely roomy. They had all kinds of activities and different rooms for different functions. You can be as active or as inactive as you want. It's a clean and very nice facility. It's reasonably new, so they do charge more.

The doctor recommended American House Fort Myers for my husband. He had other patients that had done well there with the same kind of illness. I'm 75% satisfied. It's beautiful, very new, and well landscaped. There are fountains in the backyard, birdfeeders, lovely furniture, and a pool area. It's well decorated and immaculately clean. My husband says the food is awesome. I've eaten there several times and it's good. Because it's new, I don't think they've got all the staff that they need at times, but the administration is very receptive to comments and to making things right.

We put our mother in a shared room at American House Fort Myers, which was more affordable for our family. I really liked it. They do a fantastic job. She seems very clean and happy. They offer her good food, they give her showers, and they have a beauty salon there where she gets her hair done every week. I'm really happy there. I like the staff. They're very good and very caring. For the first time in a while I feel like she's at home. She interacts well with the staff and they treat her well. There's enough people around that she can interact with. She's in memory care, so she doesn't necessarily have other residents to talk to. It's easy to get to and it's close to my house. I can come in whenever. It's a locked unit, but I have access to get in to see my mom at bedtime, or early in the morning, or if anything's wrong, they always call me. They communicate when there's a problem. They pay attention to what's going on. It's not a big unit and it's not full, so they can watch people really closely. We get to bring our pet in every week. They do exercise classes. She'd broken her hip and we arranged for her to get her occupational and physical therapy, which they're doing there. They're meeting all her needs. They do memory activities and because it's a smaller group, everybody's engaged. They do a lot of social things to get them to interact with each other.
