I visited this facility

Seagrass Village of Fleming Island is a brand new facility. It is really, really nice. However, I was inquiring about a two-bedroom apartment, and they had none available, because they were all filled up. They had a waiting list, and I think they said 3 or 4 people had their names on there. And if you were a resident, as soon as one of the rooms came open, they gave you the first choice, which I thought was very good. I was in the military for 20 years and this place was organized just about the way I would have done it if I had anything to do with the original set up. So the staff was very congenial. They seemed to take interest in a newcomer. I don't know how they treat you afterwards, but everybody seemed to be on the same page.

I visited this facility

We went to Seagrass Village of Fleming Island and the person who was showing us around there didn't know very much. She had to go and get information because she didn't have it in her head, so she had to go look it up, and it had to do with pricing. It was expensive. It wasn't as nice as the other place. It sounded good on paper, but when we were there, nobody seemed very happy to be there. We were able to see the rooms where the activities took place and that looked very interesting. I was pretty impressed with the activities rooms at that place. I thought that was kind of the highlight. They had a room where they did watercolor paintings and they had some of them on display. I didn't think that the salesperson there knew the place very well. My friend and I both thought that she was in pain part of the time that she was talking to us because she seemed very uncomfortable and that made us uncomfortable just knowing that she was uncomfortable. The apartments were small and they didn't have the closet space that they did at the other place. It just wasn't as nice.

Seagrass Village of Fleming Island was beautiful. The people were very friendly. It was everything I wanted. It was just a little further out from where I live. Other than that, it was great. The rooms were nice, spacious, and very clean. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and knowledgeable. Anything I needed to know and anything that she could do to make the transition easy for my parents, she was willing to help. Some people were playing cards, some people were sitting out reading, and I saw some people in the dining room. The dining area was very nice. I didn't get a chance to taste or sample the food, but it looked very nice.

My friend chose Seagrass Village of Fleming Island, because it felt like an apartment to her. It didn't feel like a nursing home situation. She wanted a more independent living place and she got that feeling there. She got a beautiful one-bedroom, and it's very roomy. There's a lot of space and a lot of storage. She's got a little balcony and outdoor space. There are a lot of activities. We had lunch there and the food was delicious. It's always clean and she's very happy there.

I toured Seagrass Village of Fleming Island. I was not well impressed. They had the independent living, which is what I'm looking for, and that was down on the first floor. The staff showed me a room, and to me, it was very small. I have an apartment now, and that was half my size. It was nice, but it just wasn't for me. I did speak with some of the tenants there, and they were very happy with it. I think with the cost of everything together, it was a little bit more than I was wanting to pay, but for everything that you get... I still drive, but they do have transportation, and I believe a lot of people have been satisfied with it. They had a pool, they had aerobics, because that's really good for us folks. They had somebody come once a month, and I think that's something that's excellent. That's something that I would be looking for, because that's about the only way that we can get a good workout without getting any injuries. The staff was very professional, very lively, she did a great job showing, but it just wasn't what I was looking for.

We have chosen Seagrass Village of Fleming Island because of its location. It just has what was right for us. The staff I spoke with was very, very nice. She was good. She went over and explained some of the things that we had questions about. She showed us around the facility. We have tried the food, and it was very good. The service was good, too. There were no complaints at all. We're very happy with it. There were a few things that could use tweaking but not much. They have a courtyard, they have a swimming pool, and they have games. They have several different things that we would like. They have a gym, physical therapy, and all kind of things.

My tour at Seagrass Village of Fleming Island was a pleasant experience. I was quite impressed with their facility. The person with whom I was touring with did a great job. If I would have to go to their independent, I'd prefer to stay in my home and live independently. The rooms seemed to have too little space. I only viewed the 1-bedroom. I come and go and do so much more than being restricted to that kind of facility. It was a nice facility, it just didn't fit my needs at the time. We looked in on their exercise facility, which again for me was quite insufficient. I go to a large fitness center and use a lot of equipment; they had very little equipment.

To say this place accommodates dementia patients is a joke. They are terribly understaffed, and those who are working have not been trained in dealing with people with memory loss. Paying for medication management just means they will drop off the meds, not that they will try to get your loved one to take them. My parent was treated like a nuisance and thankfully we left and are finally getting the care we need. Stay away from Seagrass if your loved one needs any level of assistance. Kathleen makes big promises but they don't pan out.

Seagrass Village of Fleming Island was very good. The staff was great and very informative on Medicare and Medicaid and helping us and guiding us as to what we would need. They had activities. It's a large facility. There was a very nice hospital type of atmosphere, and it was very clean.

I never anticipated having to move my mother into an assisted living facility. The decision came upon us rather quickly during a hospital stay. I certainly did my homework visiting various facilities close to my home. I decided on Seagrass Village Fleming Island after visiting multiple times. The staff is simply outstanding from the caregivers, dining room staff, front desk clerks, activities director, etc. Every staff member recognizes you with a hello, an eagerness to help, and a display of genuine compassion for the residents. Administration is involved, visible, highly approachable, and it reflects in the quality of this community. It is a great feeling to get a little feed back about mom from the staff each time I go to the facility, it is reassuring she is getting the interaction and supervision she needs. Seagrass Village is maintained beautifully, the food is excellent, and the activities are abundant. The transition of moving my parent from her home was certainly one of the most heartbreaking events of my life. I can honestly say it was the best decision and I can now rest peacefully knowing she is receiving such exceptional care.

I visited this facility

We went to Seagrass Village of Fleming Island because I knew someone who did respite care there. It's a city by itself, we're going to do respite care with my husband soon, and his room is lovely. It's a two-bedroom with a refrigerator and everything. We ate a meal there, it was nice, the staff was very attentive, and seemed to know everybody quite well. My husband was very impressed. He talked to a gentleman who stayed there before, and he was very positive about it. Everybody was really nice, you could order off a menu, and everybody seemed to be very happy with it. They had a full list of activities, plus transportation to shopping places, and things to do. They are willing to do respite care for less than a week, it's a newer facility, like a year old, and they are trying really hard to get their full residency. The building was brand new, very clean, very spacious inside, and it's just really nice.
