I am a resident of Harmony at Kent. They're very helpful and they have good activities. The upkeep is excellent. They take very good care of everything. It's very clean. The staff is very caring, helpful, and acceptable. The breakfast was good. They had some special buffets, for example, on the 4th of July, and things like that, and the food is always excellent and plentiful. They have a good variety of activities. They try to keep everybody entertained, and there's always something that a person can get involved in that they want to.

In the 3 years I have resided here at Harmony. My heating unit has not worked properly. Today the air conditioning unit is not working. It is 85 degrees in this unit right now. The overnight staff person was very rude and insulting. The maintenance director can be very disrespectful and insulting when speaking to residence. I have experienced the refrigerator being inappropriately wired to the kitchen light switch. the dish washer was not assembled. The large bleach stains have remained on the units carpet still today. After numerous promises of repair. The one thing that did get repaired after 2 years was the clogged drain in the shower. It repeatedly flooded each shower. The unit has very low water pressure!! This has not been addressed. The front doors are easily pulled open. A definite safety issue after 9 pm. Houskeeping is hit and miss. many times no service for up to 3 -4 weeks. Hopefully things will improve in time. Senior Independent Living residents appear to fall through the cracks!!

Harmony at Kent was very, very nice, but it was a little expensive. It's a new place, it was like a hotel, and I could live there. The rooms were fantastic, the staff was very nice, and they had a very nice dining area set up like a restaurant. It was a little big for Mom. They have a dementia center away from the other -- it looked like a really nice facility, and price-wise was out of our range.

I like the Harmony at Kent, but the problem is that it's a bit expensive for me. The place was very nice. The residents who I spoke to briefly were very nice, very friendly, and it was a great looking crowd. It's a beautiful, clean place. I was very impressed. The staff, Terrence, was just very knowledgeable and took the time to show me around. I appreciate meeting him, but it's just too expensive. They have a fitness center, but not many machines, but that part was at least OK.

This is in regards to the Independent Living section: The fall/winter 2023-2024 season began a series of days where the heat and hot water does not work in different apartments. This issue has been going on for months with no resolution. There have been more than 1 maintenance/HVAC personnel attempting to fix the issue permanently, however the repairs only last a few days at best, even when new parts are ordered. The elderly are already at high risk in extreme temperatures but are being exposed to under freezing temps repeatedly. There has been no offers to move residents to empty units if available and residents are prohibited from using space heaters. There has also been an ongoing issues with the showers flooding from construction debris getting into the pipes some kind of way that hasn't been figured out yet. Staff turnover is constant probably as a result of low wages and resident complaints of the building issues. There is no longer 24/hr front desk to allow residents in securely after-hours. Residents have to use a phone system to enter an access pin that hasn't been working, leaving residents locked out of the front doors, which is a safety risk. The facilities otherwise look nice because it's newer. There is a number of available activities and shuttle available for transport. But overall not worth the monthly rates.

I visited a facility called Harmony at Kent, also here in Dover. It is a high-rise building with long hallways. I didn't find it appealing because of the physical layout. They had a very nice fitness center, a nice dining room, a beauty parlor, a beauty shop, and that kind of thing. It just didn't suit my needs. I saw a 2-bedroom apartment and a 1-bedroom apartment. They were very nice. The staff seemed very pleasant.

Harmony at Kent is a fairly large facility. There are lots of things to do there. The staff is friendly. The residents were kind and interactive. They had a pool room, a couple of libraries, a couple of game rooms, a kitchen, and a breakfast nook area. They also had different levels of apartments where they had just a bedroom and a bath, and then all the way up to a full-on apartment style where you had your own kitchen and your own living area. It's fairly nice.

My mom chose Harmony at Kent. They had new apartments available, and the staff that we met were so caring, friendly, and interactive. They were very patient with my mother and understanding. My mom could request transportation to take her someplace. They had a gym, a salon, a movie theater, and activities, and they had trips that would go out of the facility.

I went to Harmony at Kent. It had been recommended to me by two other families, one of which moved their parents into the assisted living side. And I was interested in at that time in memory care for my mom because she, although was declining, wasn't at the level she is now. The rooms were lovely for memory care. They were more than adequate. They had their own bathrooms, a small closet, and a bedroom area. So I thought they were more than adequate, and they were well done. I liked what I saw. I saw the staff interacting with some residents, and it seemed to be a very nice, quaint community. I only met one gentleman, Terence. He was the one that gave me the tour and reached out to me afterward. I thought he was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and very willing to make the transition for my mom as easy as possible. So I was very pleased with his personality and presentation. My view of the outside was just the parking lot walking into the front door, which was landscaped very nicely.

My mother has moved into Harmony at Kent Memory Care. The concierge is very welcoming and energetic. The place is new and well-designed. It's clean and smells good. It has new furniture. It's very welcoming. The color is very appealing. It's a very good impression walking in. The staff is good. We are there frequently and when we're there, we notice that whether it's my mom or others, they treat them professionally. They're caring and attentive. They have different activities. They have a director and they do gardening, they have games, and they do bingo. They have a dress-up activity where you dress in different costumes. They have a Friday night gathering where they can socialize with the other residents that might be in assisted living or independent living. They have wine and cheese. They get a lot of food, but my mom has concerns. There's like a lot of pasta and my mother doesn't eat that, but they did ask for a menu of what she does eat. I noticed that there's an improvement in trying to have things that she will eat. We can leave food there in case she doesn't eat. They can always warm up something, food, or pastries, just as a backup. If she didn't want to eat at that time, but she gets hungry later, they allowed us to bring in food that she could utilize.

Harmony at Kent was quite lovely. We visited independent living and assisted living. The only difference between them is the number of apartments available and the level of care. It is brand new. The fitness room has a lot of equipment in it. They also have a physical therapy room, which was good. The place was clean, spotless, and well maintained. I saw a couple of residents in their computer room and library. It's just a lovely place. The rooms, and even the studio, which is the smallest, are a good size. It has outdoor patios if you want an outdoor deck in your apartment or a sunroom. It was well laid out. The elevators were large enough for wheelchairs. They have nurses' stations on the assisted living floors, so that's nice. The staff members were informative and patient. They gave us all the information that we needed and explained everything. They offer three meals a day with assisted living. For independent living, they offer one meal a day, and then you can buy additional meals, so it's flexible.
