We toured Solstice Senior Living at Guilford. I really like Solstice. I thought that the apartments were very modern and very nice. I liked that it has a trailhead for hiking right on the premises, which my dad likes a lot. I liked them a lot. My father was less impressed with them. I think he doesn't like that they're so far away from everything. You can't really walk to town or anything like that. He's still driving at this point, but he's thinking about what it's going to be like when he's not driving. The person that we spoke with was great. She was super helpful and nice. She actually gave us referrals for other places to check out as well. They recently renovated the common areas, and they looked very nice. The rooms were lovely, too. The one thing I didn't love is that the rooms only have small apartment-sized appliances, but they're not going to be cooking that much, so I guess it doesn't matter.

The people at Solstice Senior Living at Guilford were excellent. Mindy was the one who took us on the tour. I had gone there a few years ago while I was still working. At the time, they showed me a two- bedroom, and it was gorgeous. If I could have gone, I would have gone right away. Now, I have different needs and I need to downsize. Solstice Senior Living at Guilford offers five choices of apartments. Starting from a small one bedroom to large two bedrooms. They offer housekeeping and they do your laundry. You have three meals a day, and this is all included in your price. It includes everything as far as your heat, your air conditioner, cable, and WIFI. It's a nice location. The housekeeping lady was very professional in the sense that she had a uniform and she looked very clean. There wasn't anything out of place as far as housekeeping. Usually, housekeepers do not look as neat, but she was. The place was excellent as far as cleanliness. The walls were clean. They paint frequently. The lady at the desk was very congenial when people came in. The dining room was excellent. It's beautiful. It was restaurant-style. They have variety. They have a menu and then if there's nothing there that you like, there's a set menu that you can order from, which is nice. The residents were getting ready to go to lunch when I was there. They have a lot of activities throughout the day. There's bocce ball, movies, card games, walking, and painting. Right now, the sad part is that there is a waiting list. Everybody wants to go there. So, there are a lot of people. They're currently remodeling. When somebody leaves or moves out of the apartment, they do all the remodeling or whatever they're doing and then the next resident would go in. I've noticed in front of the resident's apartments, they can decorate their door. Like for Christmas, they could put a Santa Claus in. I've seen some nice things. They made it personal. There was no paper on the floor. It was very clean. They did a great job. I was impressed. The grounds were beautiful. It was set in the woods. You have a long drive and there are woods all around it. They have trails and I'm in love with trees. I felt the view was beautiful and hopefully, if I get a chance to move, I hope I have that view. Mindy was very pleasant. If I have any questions, she was right there. She made herself available to meet us for the tour. When we got there, she came right away. I didn't have to wait and she was very professional.

We looked at Solstice Senior Living at Guilford and it all looked very nice. It's high quality, very clean, and looked like a very nice place to live. The people there needed more assistance than my father. He's 75, and the average age there is towards the 80s. He felt he was a little too young to go there. They did a lot of nice activities, they had a movie night, they have game days and game nights, and reading events. It looks like a nice place for people to socialize. The staff was very friendly. The sales associate or person that we were speaking with was very knowledgeable and friendly, and followed up several times afterward. They wanted to make sure that we had all the information that we needed. And they had a waitlist at least as of November, and you can put a refundable deposit down and secure a place if you'd like.

My cousin has moved into Solstice Senior Living at Guilford. I was able to walk around and see every part of the facility, even the grounds, and I saw the actual apartment and what they had to offer, activities, and what was available to my loved one. It had everything that he needed. The price of the place is also what drew me there because I also viewed other facilities similar to it. The staff is wonderful. As soon as you walk in the front door, I'm greeted every time with a smile and "Can I help you?" It's just wonderful. He said he liked the food; there were no complaints. So far, so good. They have movies, bingo, games with other residents, and activities like exercise.

I went to Solstice Senior Living at Guilford. It's warm, welcoming, airy, friendly, busy, and accommodating. It was a good feeling when you walked in. The woman that accommodated me was very, very helpful. Extremely helpful. Extremely knowledgeable. I saw the library, which I think they're redoing. They had a cafe. The dining room was lovely. I saw a number of people in gathering areas, common areas, which is very nice to see, a lot of activity, people that were there walking about and chatting and getting their mail. It looks like a community versus a facility. I did not try the food, but they gave me cookies when I left, and I did see menus and a sheet of monthly activities. I saw a few of the staff when we were on the tour. They stopped and talked to Kristen who gave me the tour, and they seemed friendly. The housekeeping was nice. She stopped and chatted. They said hello. I saw them interacting with some of the staff.

My mother was at Solstice Senior Living at Guilford. She's going back there for a month at least. It's very caring and friendly. They had lovely amenities, and I think the staff was incredibly wonderful. She had a one-bedroom apartment. They had two-bedrooms as well. They had games, a hair salon, a pool table, a beautiful patio, religious services, exercise room, a book club, groups, a lot of games, and happy hour. They go shopping, and they have outings. Another nice thing is you could go to the dining room or you could cook for yourself in your own apartment. They have washers and dryers on every floor, so you can do your own laundry. Her favorite things were the book club, happy hour, and the exercises. She was fully involved. They have different services like medication and some nursing. They also are connected with the VA, so you can have physical therapy and occupational therapy. The staff was topnotch. They were amazing. They were having food issues; not the quality of the food, but the service of the food. They didn't have enough employees, so it was a long wait. They feed them three meals a day and the food is of good quality, but they lack staff in the food service area. They are struggling there. They're in the process of doing some upkeep, in the sense that they're putting in new rugs and that's a good thing. It's clean and bright, and they have a nice variety of furniture around, so it's comfy. They have a beautiful fireplace. They have a social director that's amazing. She's very imaginative, and she's just fun. They really do a nice job of keeping activities going. They have a very wide variety. If they're willing to participate, they can find things that they are interested in doing. The actual independent services are very reasonable. They definitely needed an upkeep. They just put in new doors, which was good. The rugs were old and dirty, but they were in the process of upkeeping them. They did a really good job of keeping the building clean. The handymen were great. They fixed things as things came about. The rugs in the residents' area were old and worn. When you go off the elevator, it's the first thing that you see. The actual apartments themselves were spacious. My mother had three closets: a bedroom closet, a living room closet, and a linen closet. The room size was decent. You have a separate area for the kitchen, the living room area, and a bathroom (that's a good size). It's a walk-in shower, and then the bedroom is a very good size. They did a really good job of maintaining the care and taking care of the people that had Covid and trying not to give it to anybody else.

Solstice Senior Living at Guilford was very nice. It's an old building. I'm leaning towards four places, and one of them is Solstice. The lady showed me several rooms and a lot of other things, like an exercise room. They were playing bingo in the other room, and she showed me the dining room too. They told me all about the medical aspect of it, so they pretty much covered all of it. The staff was very nice. She was a sweet lady and she was very thorough with everything. They need a little bit of work on the building. Other than that, it had a homey aspect to it, and it is nice that it's really close to my brother as he lives ten minutes away.

My family visited Solstice of Guilford. The buildings are 25 years old. The apartment that was available was in dire need of renovation. It appeared to be all original including the bathroom vanity and shower. The carpet was cheap quality, the oven was 24 inch wide. It wasn't for our parents. The breakfast menu was cold cereal and other items brought to your door. My 90 year old mom called the director to say that she decided against Solstice as a consideration. Rather than taking the news in stride, the director insulted my mom!

Solstice Senior Living at Guilford had a washer and dryer on the second floor. The rooms didn't have a microwave or a dishwasher, and there was no walk-in shower in the bathroom. They have card games, Bingo, and trips. The staff was very nice, very pleasant, and I enjoyed my visit very much.

It was a very nice, lovely place. The rooms were lovely, and the director was very informative and helpful. I liked it very much. They had a very inviting, big, stone fireplace. The rooms were pretty, spacious and well-designed, and the view was lovely and calm. The staff members were nice, helpful, and pleasant. I was very impressed.

My husband is living here. It was reasonable and very nice, and he’s getting good care there. He likes it there. They have different topics for talks, they have a library, he likes talking to the people at meals, and they have entertainment there. They serve 3 meals a day, they have a hairdresser, and they take people to the stores. They have different plans and different places to go, and they have different day trips and things like that. They have a huge staff, there’s a separate nursing staff, and they’re very helpful with his needs. Everybody was pleasant and nice.

It looks like a large hotel. It’s nice inside and very clean with a pleasant atmosphere. They have large apartments and are very accommodating. Sometimes we call in the middle of the night or everyone can hit the buzzer on their life alert because the management live right there. My mother hates bingo but she loves the live music, dancing, and the movies every night. She seems to be OK and loves it.

I liked it. It was just too far out. It felt like home. Some residents were playing bingo, and some were playing checkers when I was there. The food was fantastic. It was like going to a restaurant. They had a menu.

I visited for a day about a year ago. It's a very, very nice, clean and airy place. There's plenty of room and the apartments are big. The food was good. I loved it because I came from that town, it is a senior independent-living facility and the town is where I wanted to go back to.
