My parents have moved into Brookdale Farmington. We chose this one because of the immediate feel of friendliness and homeyness there. Just right off the bat, the feel that you get from the staff and the residents is they are trying to include you and make you feel part of it. The location is very nice and peaceful. It's on the beautiful lake with a path around it. The apartment is very nice. The food is good. Right now, my mother is in independent living and my stepfather is in assisted living. They have activities. At the moment there is a new state guideline that they have to quarantine for like six to seven days because they're Covid-free and they're trying to keep everybody Covid-free. The staff gets tested weekly. The people are warm, welcoming, very friendly, and make you feel at home. We noticed the difference right off the bat. They have activities, but until next week they're not able to use them because they have to quarantine with the new state regulations. They're very good. The facility appears to be very clean. They constantly have housekeepers going into the rooms.

My wife and I toured the independent living part of Brookdale Gables Farmington. I like the decor and the cordiality of the people. It fits with our ideas of what a place should be like. The place itself is nice. It was very well-operated and clean. One of the nice things there was the atrium. It was beautiful. We didn't have a full meal but we had dessert, which was great. The room we saw was nice and beautiful. The staff was also wonderful.

Brookdale Gables Farmington has a beautiful lake. It's a nice setting. Even though it's fairly close to an I-84 interchange near UConn Health Center, you don't hear any of the road noise. They're set back and there are quite a few acres there. It's a lovely property. My main problem with the property was that it would be difficult for our son to get there to visit because it's too far off his regular travel routes. Their rooms were okay. For the staff, even though everybody was kind of rushing around because it was around lunchtime, they made time for us, so I found them approachable and easy to deal with. I didn't see anything that concerned me, and I didn't see anything that wowed me. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming when we walked in the front door, and people were willing to help us. There were things going on, but not as much as we saw at the other place. They have programs in place to keep residents busy if they'd like to.

Brookdale Gables Farmington was an old facility. I wasn't too impressed with it. The room was small, and it didn't have much storage. The person who gave the tour was nice. They provided a kitchenette. They had a patio and a pond. It was pretty, but we weren't impressed.

Brookdale Gables Farmington was lovely. They have very nice grounds. A lot of the residents have a lot to say about how it's run. One of the ladies that was showing me around was telling me how some people that live there came to her and said "We have soda cans when we go and have our meals, but there's no place to recycle them. We'd like to have a recycling facility here, like containers and stuff." And they were able to start up their own facility for recycling their cans and that kind of stuff. So, I thought that was good. They listen to their residents. It seemed very nice. The apartments were very conducive. Not at all claustrophobic. They had just enough space. They all had full kitchens and full baths with grab bars. They were very appropriate for the people that would live there. It might have been lunchtime when we went there and the food smelled really good. There were still some residents that were sitting down having lunch and they seemed to be very satisfied. There was a variety of food on the menu. It wasn't just one menu. They have a daily menu, but they also have a recurring menu, one with foods that the majority of residents have asked for. They have certain items every day so that they're never without something that they like.

Brookdale Gables Farmington was right on the lake. It was a very nice atmosphere and you had a choice of foods. You don't have to have one meal every day. You have a choice and they cater to your diet needs. The apartments were very spacious and very nice. The one bedroom that we saw had a lot of sunshine coming in the windows. It was very nice and very clean. Then they had a two-bedroom apartment that was spacious and huge, but the one-bedroom was big enough for us. The staff was very nice and very professional. They have a beauty salon, a library, and a communal PC. They also have special rooms that if you do have an event, you could use that room or if you have a family that would come over to eat with you. They gave us lunch and it was good.

I went to Brookdale Gables Farmington. The tour was very well done. The person who gave us the tour was the assistant to the director, and he was very good, very personable, very friendly, and answered all of our questions. We saw their dining room, and he explained all of the meals. It's a very lively place and very energetic. You could feel the energy when you walked in, and it had a good vibe to it. The people seemed very friendly. We saw a lot of people. It was in between meals, but there were people in the halls, a lot of people around, much more so than I saw at other places. The activities were on full display. We didn't eat there, but it seemed like everybody liked the food. The rooms were very clean and set up very well. We mainly looked at studios. If you had to go from independent living to assisted living, they were structured in such a way that you did not have to leave your apartment. Their assistance came to you, which is kind of unusual for facilities that have multilevel care. Everything comes to you, and you don't have to leave where you are.

Brookdale Gables Farmington was very nice. My dad loved the staff during the tour and thought the people were great, but it was a dated-looking facility and he didn't like that. The hallways were small. The rooms were also smaller than we were looking for and not as easily accessible for, but then again the staff was fabulous, friendly, very courteous and full of information. They had a nice fishing pond in the back. So the outdoor area was very pretty if you're mobile enough to go outside. They had social hours, too.

Brookdale Gables Farmington was a great location. I looked at a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment that had a small stove but no dishwasher. You also had to do your own cable. They provide you with two meals though (dinner plus one other meal) and if you want guests to stay, it costs $100 a day to rent a suite for them if it was available. The grounds were beautiful. The facility was gorgeous. It's almost like walking into a vacation resort, but expensive. The people that I spoke with were lovely. However, they would not come to the tables and take an order for you. You had to go through a line. It was cafeteria style, which I did not like. Almost everyone that I saw there was using a rollator or a walker. They would assist you with getting your stuff to the table if you needed help, but you still had to go through the line and get your food now. I think these few things that I didn't like are not big problems for others. It's just my personal choice.

We are choosing Brookdale Gables Farmington for my parents. We had a great tour of the place. The staff was on time and they were friendly. I liked the layout of the building. And the lake view, I think it's a very peaceful calm setting. The apartments need a little bit of updating, but they're clean and have a sufficient amount of space. The dining room looked very nice. It seems like they have a lot of activities going on over there.

We went to look at Brookdale Gables Farmington. They showed us around the dining hall and where the activities are. In assisted living, they have appliances in the apartments. They invited me in for a meal, and it was delicious. The staff was very friendly. They had a courtyard, and it was very pleasant.

I am moving to Brookdale Gables Farmington because I like the setting of it. As far as the facility itself and the people I met, it is very good. The staff members were very polite. They answered all my questions, and they didn't rush me. I tried the food, and it was good. It seems like they have just about everything you could need. It is a beautiful property. They have a hairdresser. They have physical therapy if you need it, and there is gym equipment. There are beautiful grounds to walk.

My dad is moving into Brookdale Gables Farmington for respite. It's nice and it's affordable. The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and the rooms were very nice and big. They seemed to have a lot, I've seen their calendar. I know that they have a dance coming for Valentine's Day on Friday and that type of thing. They have a library. They have a room for religious services. It's on a lake, and the view is gorgeous.

I went to Brookdale Gables Farmington. I probably like having the meals prepared for you. They do all the cooking. The rooms were nice. I looked at a one-bedroom apartment, but I have a single-family home and I'm just not ready to move into an apartment. It was very neat, and it wasn't cluttered, so I had a good impression of it. However, you don't have your furniture there, so you don't know what's going on. I don't know some of the rules there. Like can you have guests? Can you have parties? Can you have a home theater? There's a lot of stuff they don't tell you about. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice. They had a health fair at the time I went, and that was very helpful because I got some information from a health care agency. Like if you need temporary health care after a surgery or something like that for rehab, so I get a lot of information from them. The dining area was fine. It was cozy and spacious. You had your round tables, so you could socialize with all the other residents. The area is very scenic. There's a pond there and it is in the forest. They will provide transportation to a doctor's appointment, and on occasions, they have bus trips.

The apartments at Brookdale Farmington need to be updated. The residents would have to step in and step out of the tub situation in the bathroom, which for me, is a no-go for my father, but could be fine for others. It was a little too loud in the open area with some music that they had going. It was busy, which I think is good, and there were lots of people in and out, but it was just a little too loud for me and I don't think my dad would like that. The staff was nice, though, and they were doing some updating in the hall.

My grandmother has just signed the paperwork at Brookdale Gables Farmington. I basically like that the room has a full kitchen with a stove and an oven. No other place that we looked at has that, so that was basically what had her go in, because she likes to cook still. The place is big and clean. It's classic décor. They have very nice people. Everybody was very nice. It has a nice view of the lake. They have a beauty and barber salon, there's a gym, there are card games and happy hour, and they do allow small pets.

We like the amenities and the actual apartments that Brookdale Farmington had to offer. The meal plans were included in the monthly rent. The apartments were very spacious. They have multiple activities that the residents can partake in on and off the property. They had different classes that they could partake in as well. They had transportation and you didn't have to pay an additional fee.

Brookdale Farmington was quiet and I didn't see anybody everywhere. The staff showed off two units. I didn't like the two units because they were small, but it's a nice area and a nice environment. It was a quick visit.

I'm currently in the hospital, but I'm going back to Brookdale Farmington. It's very nice, but they put me in a three room apartment when I couldn't walk. I had to remain in a recliner in the living room, so I never got to the bedroom or the kitchen. I would've been better off in a studio. The rooms were lovely, and the food was delicious. The people who brought the food were very nice, accommodating, and would help you. It's a lovely place to stay. I had to call downstairs to have somebody come up and help me to the commode, and sometimes the wait was way too long.

Brookdale Farmington was really wonderful. The person I spoke with was very helpful. She took all the time I needed to find out what I needed to know. She talked about my father as if what he needed was more important than what the company needed. I really liked that. The size of the room would be perfect for my father, who is a single male. The layout was convenient. The studio apartment they showed me was pretty much an open space. They had a specific area for a bed with a call bell rope on it. Other than that, you can probably put anything you want in there, so that's nice. There was a kitchen in there that my father could use if he wanted to, but he wouldn't need to because the dining area offers three meals a day. The bathroom was remodeled, which was very nice. He had a look-out advantage point from his window to the lake that is outside the community. It would have been a nice, calming environment. Their recreational director had lots of things going. The bus takes people to doctors' appointments, to the park, to the senior center, and to different places. They have scheduled outings, too. The place was very clean, nice and inviting. The minute you walk in there's a waiting area with coffee and tea available. The person that works behind the desk greets people as they walk in.

Brookdale Farmington is affordable, but a little outdated. Communication is a little bit difficult, but the people are very friendly. Mom has an efficiency room located on the first floor that has grab bars. It is more accessible to the dining room. The grounds are pretty and they have a pond at the back. They have movies, piano playing, outings, and there are people always coming in to provide entertainment. The food is OK, too. The place is appropriate for our needs. We had communication problems one time when my mom was not being attended to because they didn't know where she was, but it is a fairly nice place and I feel comfortable with Mom being there.

Brookdale Farmington was the one I liked the best. It was really lovely. It was an older place but very well kept up. The surroundings outside, the land, the little lake, and the walking trails were absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The staff was excellent, very kind, nice, and very informative. I loved the 2-bedroom because it was very spacious and nice. The 1-bedroom was OK, too. They had washers and dryers on the floor in the hallway, in very close proximity to the apartments. The lunch was exceptionally good. I just liked the feel of the place, and I felt very at home there.

Brookdale Farmington is a great place. It looked richer and much higher-class, but, unfortunately, it was so far away from my kids. The staff was unbelievable all over the place; I cannot say that somebody was rude. Everybody was very pleasant; they offered me to eat, and I refused because I watch my weight. As far as atmosphere and condition and everything else, I would rate them the highest, but it’s not for me.

Gables at Farmington was the nicest one that our clients liked. The apartment was perfect, and the location was perfect. They made a lot of friends there. They traveled over there several times to visit, and they just fell in love with it. The social worker -- the one that toured them around -- was excellent. She went above and beyond to pull financials together and work around their budget. She continually invites them over to have coffee or cookies. She's just wonderful. We had other clients there in the past. They're really in tune to what the individual needs. The activity that they participated in was entertainment. The facility itself is beautiful. It's got a pond nearby, so it's very tranquil, and this couple is just thrilled with the prospect of moving in over there.

Gables at Farmington was beautiful; we did end up putting my mother there for a couple of months, and she had a wonderful experience there. I thought the staff went out of their way to accommodate any of her needs, they had plenty of activities for her to participate in, and they were very good with family and answering all the questions. It was a one bedroom apartment that was very well-kept, and housekeeping was great with that. The food was good, and they ate two to three meals a day.

Gables was a very nice place with very nice people. The rooms they had available for us though was in the basement facing the backside of the building and there was no sunshine coming in. It was a very spacious unit, but it was dark. It was kind of a cramped place. The hallways were tight and it was a very big place. So, my parents might get lost in there. The dining hall doesn't serve breakfast. They only served lunch or dinner.

We went to see Gables at Farmington for my father-in-law. The facility is gorgeous. It's really nice and very well taken care of. We saw the room and we liked it. The staff was very pleasant and was able to answer our questions. Their dining room was like a little hotel. For what they said, they make home-made foods. We liked it because it would be a convenient place for the family; not really far from us.

Gables at Farmington was not quite anywhere near as big as the other facility but it was very nice except for one thing. I wasn't very happy with the fact that the people who try to get you in there are on a commission basis. I don't like anybody on a percentage basis because, whether it was a nice or lousy place, they're not going to tell you. This is the reason why I'm giving the place a low rating.

It's been 14 years since I came here at Gables of Farmington. The facility is in a beautiful location. We have beautiful grounds, a lake, and a lot of trees. It's also close to shopping malls. We have a housekeeper that comes in once a week. We have food served for breakfast and dinner. I can come and go as I please and the facility has everything I need.

I went to The Gables when we sang there as a group. The staff were friendly and nice. They had a large dining room overlooking a pond and it was well-lighted. Natural light streamed into the building and it was bright. Some of the activities were crafts, music, reading class, exercise group, etc. I would recommend this facility to others.

The staff were friendly although my grandmother said they didn't listen to her needs.... but I'm not sure if it was just her condition. Everything seemed clean, friendly, open... she seemed to be taken care of quite well in my opinion. There was one nurse but I can't remeber her name who would come in and read to her and went above and beyond her call I feel to watch out for her. The room seemed nice.... maybe could have had a little more decor or another way to make it seem more homely... the gardening was beautiful though and they have nice views from the windows. There were other nurses how ever in my opinion that shouldn't have chosen being a nurse as a profession... they took awhile to answer her call.... and took forever to come to her aid... and were less than delicate in giving her medication.

After my grandfather passed, my family decided to place my grandmother in an assisted living center to help her not only cope, but continue to function as well on her own. The facilities were very nice; it is kept very clean and Farmington is a beautiful town on its own. I had no complaints about the staff -- though they have a difficult job, everyone I spoke to was respectful and willing to assist with any and all concerns my family had. Finding a good assisted living facility is a difficult choice, because it essentially requires you to put your family member's care in the hands of others, something hard to do when it's your grandmother. The staff knows this better than anyone, and they went out of their way to make this decision as easy and painless as they possibly could. I appreciated their efforts, I appreciated the care they put into their facility, and I appreciate the respect and patience they gave to my grandmother.

Hello ,I must say that this assisted living facility is pretty nice outside, Its located in a very hidden area, I went to visit a family member, and let me tell you something, they have such an amazing ,clean and neat facility, It was my first experience going to visit a family member to one of those places ,and I am not going to lie I was pretty nervous about the place and stuff members ,just because of the simple name of "assisted living facility". when I was heading to the main door ,there was few residents on their wheelchairs chatting with the Aides ,the front desk lady was very nice and polite, the other stuff members were very polite some of them showed so much stress on their facial expressions and some of them were really enjoying their job, I am going to say that during the time I was there everybody was really busy ,transferring and assisting residents from one place to another, I have also noticed that besides having good Aides they need to get more bilingual employees ,because some residents do not speak English too well and as we age I think we feel more comfortable talking in our home language, for me to mention this is because the person that I was visiting mentioned that when nobody is around him/her ,it was hard for the person to convey his/her feelings and thoughts , other than that the whole time I was in that facility; it was a quite nice experience.
