We cannot think of a more special and welcoming community for our beloved father than the Atria in Darien. It looks and feels like a luxury hotel but even more impressive than the look and feel is the wonderful, caring staff. They treat the residents with kindness, genuine affection and respect. Many staff members have been there for a number of years which demonstrates that it’s clearly a wonderful place to work, let alone to live! Not a day goes by without a phone call from dad saying what a good choice we made in the Atria Darien and that he couldn’t be more comfortable than he is there! This sense of peace and belonging he has makes the entire family so happy. We would be so concerned if he felt differently. he enjoys it so much that he barely wants to elsewhere! We really can’t say enough great things about the Atria in Darien. We believe believe that your loved one has a chance to live there, you should seize the opportunity!

The rooms are very well designed with accessible bathrooms and kitchenettes. They are spacious and uplifting, and housekeeping does a fantastic job cleaning 2X a week. My mom was very resistant to senior living at first, but settled in so well in just a few weeks. They allowed her to do a “trial stay” for the first couple of months, which was unique. The staff are so supportive and friendly! She plays bridge, joins in different groups and socializes daily with the residents. She has made so many great new friends at age 103!

I've been living at Atria in Darien, Connecticut for two years and I love it here. It's a small community so you easily get to know everyone and it makes it easy to build lasting and close friendships. The staff here is amazing. They go way out of their way to please and have a never-ending supply of support and energy. You can be as busy as you like here because there are so many activities and something for everyone. I exercise every day and I enjoy the day trips that we take to the surrounding areas. I'm grateful to have such a wonderful place to live!

Michele and the team at Atria did the impossible! After moving from her lifelong home in Western NY to Atria Darien this fall, our mother is now happy, safe, & secure! She said Atria could be in a tent and she’d still love it there because of how wonderful & caring the people who work there are… especially Michele, Kate, Kiki & Petula! After trying unsuccessfully to get our mother to move for over 15 years, Michele was there every step of the way to help make her feel comfortable and entirely in charge with this move. She did a respite stay which helped ease her into the idea of making this monumental move. Michele, Sharon, Kiki & the amazing aides all helped her adjust beautifully. Our mother is so happy there due to the genuine love and amazing care the entire team provides to all residents, going well beyond securing their stay. Michelle, Kate, Sharon, Kiki & Marge feel like family and they make the residents (my mother in particular) feel special every day. We never thought we would be able to have our mother living close to all of us. She has made so many nice new friends, loves Atria’s activities & special holiday events, & enjoys the beautiful beaches, shops & restaurants in Darien. Michele and the team at Atria have helped us beyond our wildest dreams to make our mother safe, secure and very happy

Both the building and the grounds are quite lovely. Having met the administration and many of the staff I would say they are both caring and professional, atria is very well run. My brother is a resident and I had lunch with him there. The food was very good and he tells me it’s consistently good. The residence I met, seem happy in this place. I came away, feeling that this was a place where my brother could thrive.

Darien Atria has given my family peace of mind. My Dad went into assisted living reluctantly. Within one week (thanks to the amazing staff) he was happy, taking advantage of the different programs and loving being social in the dining room for his meals. He/we love the environment, amazing staff and we even enjoy attending lectures and music events with my Dad. Darien Atria is the best of the best in Fairfield County. The staff are familiar not only with the residents but their families. It is a very special place.

My mother-in-law is in Atria Darien. They've got palliative care coming in to care for her now, so we're just gonna leave her there. It's like a five-star hotel. It is a beautiful senior facility. It is not for the memory impaired. Most people there just need a little assistance. Some of them have their own cars, so it's just senior living, but it's very beautifully kept and it's clean. The people are very, very nice. The one big drawback is it's extremely expensive. She has a 24-hour aide, but a lot of them don't have aides at all. There's no lockdown or anything like that. You're free to come and go. She has a double room with two full bathrooms because she is very, very competent mentally and she wanted to have an office. They have a studio and a room and a half. They have different options. There are two libraries, a wonderful hair salon, and two dining rooms. There's a chef who's been there for over 24 years, and the food is very good. There are several courtyards for the residents to go out and enjoy. The rooms are comparable to others in the area, price-wise. When you add the assistance, then it becomes extremely expensive.

My word for Atria Darien is "options". They provide a myriad of options to their residents which is a huge plus. They treat us all as individuals and truly listen to what we are interested in and need (in terms of activities, menu items, etc). They make it work and are always open and responsive to new ideas. I am grateful to Atria Darien for all of the options that they have provided to me. I highly recommend this community to anyone who is looking into senior living options.

Atria Darien is the perfect residence for my Mom, who comes to Darien for a few months during the summer months. Staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and the care and interest management has in looking out for her brings peace of mind. 10 out of 10.

Atria Darien is really beautiful. It looks brand new and it's very spacious. They have a gym, a mahjong room, a pub where you can go and get an alcoholic beverages, a physical therapy room, a movie room, and a library. It's all very beautiful. They have a lot of activities. They sent me home with two cheesecakes and they were pretty good. I never saw the grounds. I looked out the window, but when you pull up to the main building you're not seeing anything except the parking lot and the building. The staff was very nice. I met the head nurse and I met the woman who handles all the activities, and she was delightful. I wasn't crazy about the sales manager. She was doing a really hard sell, which always makes me uncomfortable. Other than that, the people that I met seemed to be very outgoing, friendly, and upbeat. The residents said hello. They'd pass you in the hallway and they'd say hi and how are you, so that was encouraging. The way the building was constructed was almost like an indoor walking trail. I think it must have been raining that day or something, because there were a lot of people walking through the halls and friendly and happy. Unlike the other place, which has 24-hour nursing staff, Atria Darien does not. They have one nurse as far as I could tell, and she goes off duty at 7:00 or 9:00 at night. After that, if you have a medical need, there's a certified nursing assistant, so they're not nurses. I felt that I needed more medical care than they could provide. The place looks like a spa, and I think most of the people who are there in recovery are there because they had a knee replacement or they broke their leg. With me, I'm going to have a four-inch scar down my spine from my back surgery, and if that wound opens up, and all I have is a CNA, trying to smack a Band-Aid on my back is not going to cut it, so I had to eliminate them.

My mom moved into Atria Darien. The facility was very nice and one of the primary reasons we picked it. The condition was very good. Upkeep was good. The staff was exceptional. We had a chance to meet some of the residents and they were appropriate for my mother, people she would connect with. The other services and other attributes of it were very good. I think they were in the high end of these sorts of facilities, you pay for that, but I think you do get very good quality, a living environment. I think the staff and the type of activities that are available at this facility made it stand out. The activities that were important to my mother were card games, the bridge. They had several bridge leagues. They had a book club, a Bible study club or group, and you know, some other types of things for women who are of her age were appropriate, like dance and exercise programs that would be fine for someone of her age. They had a salon. I think it's just that the general layout of the facility and the condition of it, the size of the rooms, and the welcoming facility itself just made it stand out. It's clear that Atria, the parent company, put some real money into this and was keeping it up nicely and it had a good group of staff there. It was just evident to me that it was a high-quality facility. All the rooms were very nice, well maintained, very logical and comfortable layouts suitably sized for the needs of the resident, and in extremely good condition. They had some nice gardens, the building and its facade was attractive. The layout of the various gardens and areas for socialization outside seems quite nice. We thought the food was quite good, and the wait staff was very good.

My mother in law has been a resident at Atria since January. We moved her from another senior living facility as she was not getting enough stimulation. The staff at Atria has been wonderful, ensuring a smooth transition. The facilities are immaculate. More activities are being introduced on a weekly basis. It has been a great move.

My mom has been a resident of Atria Darien for 5 years. She was quite independent when she arrived and availed herself of the many activities such as, lectures, movies, fitness, etc. She enjoyed the programs, made many friends and loved the atmosphere of the facility. She has a beautiful room and feels at home at Atria. Now, she requires aide and medication support. The staff have been consistently accommodating, helpful and lovely in addressing my mom's needs. I know that she is getting good care in a wonderful environment.

I like the people in Atria. It is very important to me to be surrounded by people that I have something in common with, and everybody is very friendly and I fit in. The one-bedroom seems adequate with a lot of closets, so it was a little bit better than some of the others I have seen. I am from Darien originally, so the location is perfect. They have everything, like lectures and outside interests. The pricing is comfortable.

Everything was top notch at Atria. The only issue was understanding the level of care that’s needed, and how much that really cost. That was a not as transparent as the other communities. This was also the most expensive of the communities we saw, but it was the nicest facility.

I visited Atria Darien. They were doing some construction, but I didn't think it was possible it could be nicer. I thought it looked big and new. The other the staff was nice. The people seemed engaged. The food looked delicious.

The staff has always been very lovely at Atria Darien. They told me enough information. There was a small group of people listening to a lecture. They have their program printed on a big wall. Every room is very beautiful, but I find the atmosphere too cold for me.

We had a very lovely lunch at Atria. The food was excellent. They were more expensive than the rest of them. The rooms were very clean, but they were smaller than the other two places that we had seen. The staff was excellent. The dining room was so bright and so cheery. The wait staff there was so nice and very patient with all the people coming in and answering all their questions. The social area was much bigger and very wide open, and on each floor, they had areas where you could come right out of your room and sit right there and do a puzzle.
