My grandma is in Life Care Center of Pueblo. They have been very kind, professional, and helpful. The facility is clean. We are just very grateful that we were able to find a place for grandma and grandpa. We were in a time crunch. Most of the nursing homes were not taking Medicaid pending at the time and my grandparents had no money but Life Care Center took them with Medicaid pending. My grandparents were able to share a room and it was a good-sized room that fit them both. Grandpa had to be separated from her at one point, but their rooms were clean. They have a beautician that comes in a couple of days a week. We like it. They have an exercise class, bingo, and different things. My grandparents didn't take advantage of everything, but my grandma participated in the exercise and bingo. She's not typically a person who does those kinds of things, so it's been nice to know that she's meeting people and doing those activities. My grandma seems to be happy with the food and she's pretty picky. Nursing homes are very expensive regardless, but for what they're getting, it's pretty reasonable.

This facility has constant turnover in staffing; not to mention many management changes. The staff patient ratio is terrible as they try to provide quality care to many residents who have limited mobility. This is a company problem which is transferred to their staff as incompetency. This company should hire more staff and stop lining their own bottom line! This is the second facility I've visited; it too struggled with similar problems.

The biggest problem at Life Care Center of Pueblo was the staff to patient ratio. They didn't have enough CNAs and equipment for people who are unable to ambulate on their own. I saw people sitting in the hallway waiting to be laid down for an hour because they could never get two CNAs at the same time. The nurses wouldn't go and help the CNAs. It's a newer building compared to some of the rest. They have a good activity area and they have a lot of things going on. The rehab department is well-staffed, and the wound care specialist was excellent.

I was at Life Care Center of Pueblo for rehab for 20 days around September 10th of last year. It was very nice, wasn't very old, and had nice grounds with trees. They were very attentive and took good care of me while I was there. I mostly had rehab exercises and physical therapy.
