My brother was in Belmont Lodge Health Care Center when he got out of the hospital. It was very good and clean. I was very happy with my brother's stay there. The layout was very good. They provided meals, a place to live, and several different kinds of therapy. There was one therapy instructor who was especially good. She was really wonderful in helping him learn to walk as much as she could at that time.

My Mother was in Belmont

My mother was in Belmont. It was the WORST experience we have had to deal with. The room was dirty, when they would clean it would half work. They would leave stuff on the floor and just sweep around it and not move wheel chairs or anything. They never changed her bed until I asked for them to be changed. Right before she passed, I along with the hospice nurse had to ask for her to be given a shower and her clothes changed. The staff here didn’t seem like they cared about the patient. I would call for an update and half the time I would be told the nurse would have to call me back and I would never get a call back. When my mother passed away, half of her clothes were missing. I asked to be contacted to pick up her clothes once they were found. To this day I have never be contacted. When I was contacted when my mother passed away, the funeral home helped be remove her belongings from the room. I asked if there was a cart, I could use to take her belongings out and was told they would see if they could find one and never came back. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. Once I choose to have hospice to come in, my mom’s care went downhill.

Belmont Lodge's staffing ratios don't match. They're understaffed. The facility's cleanliness is below standard. Call lights would go off and go unanswered, and there was the stench of urine and feces. They have a lawn and courtyard in the back where the residents can go. The rooms weren't bad, but the cleanliness of the whole facility could have been better.

This is by far the most unprofessional health care lodge in Pueblo. A female nurse that works nights is always very handsy with another male and they are always holding hands, she is also extremely rude. The building reeks of urine, feces and vomit and some of the nurses very rarely respond to the patients when their room alarms are going off. On one occasion a resident (male) was laying on the floor asking for help and they left him there for 30 minutes just walking around him. I have noticed the only time the lodge is clean is when the state comes to do their inspections.

I am the P.O.A. for a resident .. because she doesn't have enough money to stay in a care facility & to much for assistance this was a chose. It has been 7 months and I have closed a business to care for her in my home. Belmont Lodge, Pueblo is part of a chain of corporate ownership care centers, and you can sure tell. phones ringing non stop, and not being answered, patient screaming and crying in rooms and hallways, lights flashing, beeping no one in a hurry cause I'm sure employees are under paid, understaffed but desperate to need work!!!! Very low income appearance ....very SAD!!! The poor should at minimal be clean...

My mother stayed in this facility for 5 months prior to her death in February, 2011. While she was there, her caregivers were always very nice when I visited or called on the phone for updates. They always called me if my mom was having any problems. I saw that the other patients were also given very humane and kind care. The facility didn't have beeping, loud bells or such. This calmer atmosphere helped my mom out considerably in being able to remain calm herself. Her bed was always dry and the restroom trash was always dumped. The halls did not smell badly. I had experienced these situations at other care facilities and I was happy to see that this facility was not like that.
