Kenton Manor has a proactive Administrator who try's to accommodate his residence with their requests by the resident & families. John has been a great help to my family. His communication with me personal has been wonderful. He tries to make things funny and happy. He did an outstanding job trying to keep Kenton Manor safe during the pandemic. A big THANK YOU to John and his wonderful staff during these difficult times. Kenton Manor is a friendly residence. Staff is always trying to help. Rooms- need more furniture that can help residence in wheelchairs. Maybe paint the walls a color that is more cheerful. Transportation- During the Covid time no one was allowed out, now that the residence can leave maybe it would be nice to have a company that would give rides to their residence to locations so they can get out.

This is the worst nursing home I have ever been in. The CNAs were lazy. You had to request things more than once. The doctor told family that somebody gave my mom lsd which later was found in her medication she takes on a daily basis. The accounting rep was rude and not caring. Cnas left poop buckets in bathroom for over a week. Cnas left dirty pads on top of bottled water we purchased for our mom. Once mom was put on hospice hospice disregarded POA decisions and continued to give her morphine. So needless to say if you want ur friend/family or anybody you care for to die send them to Kenton Manor. Theyl be dead in matter of no time!

I did not like this place while they were in charge on my parent they ruined her hearing aids in the shower , they kept her from using the call button and telephone across the room out of reach by placing it across the room , they did not change her bandages as needed and caused worse problems for her to deal with after her discharge, their PT did not encourage therapy that promotes independents in her home they offered very little of value of physical therapy for return to home life , her blouse and socks were missing at discharge , they ignored my request to remove catheter because she did not need it before coming to their facilities up until 2 days before leaving Kenton Manor they gave her salty foods even though I told them she eats salt-free diet , they terrified her when using the hoyer hoist lift by jerking her around rather than explaining to her what they were about to do, I also request female help not male help which also was ignored Mom claims their male help got personal with her I would not take my sick dog to this place that is how bad it is

My stay at Kenton Manor was good and needed for alcohol rehabilitation. The location was convenient and close to home which made it easy for my wife and visitors. The parking was well lit for safety in the evening. When I arrived, the first room I was in was small and clean although a bit out dated. I was moved to a second room which turned out to be closer to the Nurse Station but the room was very clean and there was more space. The Physical and Occupational Therapy staff were very good. The staff is well educated and experienced. They know how to read their patients to learn what their limitations are, and they are excellent in working with the patient to work through those limitations by keeping the patients spirits up by providing praise and confidence. The Nurses and CNA's were knowledgeable and quick to render help and care. Overall, the experience was good and rewarding.

This place is awful. The staff don't pay attention to the clients, and then they give you attitude when you ask to speak with someone. And if you complain, they will find a way to get rid of you. I visited a friend there that could not read/write, and had cognitive issues, they had her sign paper work stating she understood she was leaving AMA. She didn't know what she was signing. They never called family for support with that either.

At first glance this "Nursing Home" appears to be a pleasant and peaceful facility. After my second or third visit the facility's true colors began to surface. I have personally witnessed CNAs yelling and snapping at residents. I would say I see a good number of residents who have a form of fear of the staff and this concerns me greatly... I think this issue should be addressed immediately. Residents are frequently denied medical attention even when residents plead for it. In some cases the residents that were denied medical attention were sadly to say found deceased later in their room. When it comes to Med rounds I have personally witnessed residents repeatedly requesting meds that were not administered. I personally believe this facility is greatly understaffed or better yet if the quality of the staff were improved then Kenton Manor would be a nursing home where the residents actually are nursed and cared for during rehabilitation. All in all, you might want to shop around before placing your loved one in this facility.

The one we chose that we were getting ready to work with was Kenton Manor. They were very friendly. They accepted her insurance and it seems like a nice place overall. They had lots of activities and things available for her. The rooms were very nice, a little outdated, but they were nice. Some of the rooms had a nice view outside and they were pretty decent. We saw that the facility was clean.

My mother-in-law lives at Kenton Manor. We once asked when it would be convenient to come get her and take her across the street to have a cup of coffee with us, but it can never be allowed. You cannot take her away from this facility. She is so unhappy and she runs away some times. The staff would look for her when they find out she's not in her room. I didn't like the food and I am not very picky when it comes to that.

I didn’t like this nursing home at all; Kenton Manor. They do not appear clean to me. I would never put a family member there from what I saw and I do not feel comfortable. They have very limited staff. We had an appointment with the lady that gave us the tour and she was like 10 minutes late. I saw people in the hallway that were not being attended to. They were trying to find somebody to help them and nobody showed up. We heard some very bad things about that nursing home. It didn’t take me very long to decide that didn’t want my family member to be there.

They are very caring and compassionate. My Grandmother would wheel her wheel chair up and down the halls and when she came to a fire alarm she would pull it. They would tell me that was there daily fire alarm test.

I never expected to be living in a nursing home at 52, but circumstances at home led me here a little over three years ago. I was apprehensive about how the physical and occupational therapies at a nursing home would compare to the therapy I had been receiving at home, but the therapist's were well trained people, and going to the therapy room every day was a way for me to get acquainted with other residents. Of course their are other ways as well, field trips, activities such as games, parties, outings and so much more are offered by the activities department. We all have been given an "ambassador" who we can talk to whenever we need someone to listen. Nurses are good at bridging the gap between doctors orders and how they apply or what they mean. If questions arise, they were good at putting in a call to the doctor, of writing it down so the doctor could follow up the next time he did rounds. My needs no longer require this type of setting. I'm moving on to my own apartment at the end of this month. The social worker here, a representative from Connections, along with the Area Agency on Aging, have all worked together to find an apartment where I can live on my own, but still have 24 hour care when I need it. I'm excited to see what lies ahead, but I don't regret the time that I spent here. It is going to be hard to leave the "family" that is Kenton Manor. I've learned a lot here, but it's time to move on. I do want to pass this one thing along to anyone who has a a loved one who struggles with dementia. We love those special patients here. I usually see them gathered around the nurse's station, talking to each other, and having a great time of it. If you are struggling with whether Mom or Dad need help somewhere other than in your care 24/7, if there is an opening, this is where they will thrive. They find buddies and talk about the good old times. They have a home here, and something special to offer. Trust me, they are the happiest people when they are talking to each other. When I grow old, send me here please, because I know that here II will be loved. ~Kati Jordan
