Good Samaritan Society is very neatly kept. I have only been here since the 21st of January, so I really don't have a good feel for all of it, but it seems very lovely, well kept up, and painted. If there's anything wrong, they will come immediately and replace or repair whatever needs to be done. They're very polite. It is a very family-oriented place. There are like 10 or 15 amazing activities every single day. They have walking club, exercise, and Catholic and other masses. I highly recommend this place. It feels like a small community that is very caring and not a hospital situation, and that's what I wanted.

We toured Good Samaritan Society - Bonell Community for my mother. They have a large variety of activities, which she liked, and they have a swimming pool, which she liked too. She figured that just enough activities to keep her occupied. They have a couple of activities that she's interested in. There's mahjong, and hand and foot, and then she liked the in-person training for Tai chi and the exercise classes. They have a big variety of rooms, depending on what you're looking for. She will have a one-bedroom apartment, and it's in a newer wing, which is nice. It has a walk-in shower, and she's happy with that. There's a lot of other choices, like she could have gone into the tower, which is a seven-story building that has balconies, but she decided to go in the single-story building. It looked clean and it appeared that they take care of everything. Since she's not in there yet, I'm not sure if there might be something else, but it appeared that it's well-maintained and there's staff to take care of items that you need. The staff that we've dealt with have been very pleasant and tried to help accommodate anything that she's asked for. She will have an outdoor space and they have a community garden. I don't know if they have private gardens, but I know they have a community garden. We had the comments from other people that food was very good, but I haven't tried it, so I don't know.

I toured Good Samaritan Society-Bonell Community Greeley, which is by a Lutheran church. They're Christian-based. The facility was great, but I did not like the atmosphere. Nobody was interacting there. They didn't have things to keep the residents busy, you just sat in your apartment. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it's adequate. Their meals are $10 per meal. The director who held our tour was very knowledgeable, but we didn't see any other staff. I would recommend that they make more rooms in their facility wheelchair accessible or handicapped accessible. The bathroom doorways were maybe 26 inches, I could not even get my walker through them. So even on the independent ones we looked at, the doorways were very narrow.

The facility is poorly kept and the staff is not well prepared for seniors at all. The management team needs a lot of training for elderly people!

I’ve been here at Good Samaritan for three weeks. They have a few activities, like swimming, but I haven’t participated yet. They have puzzles and game rooms. We do our own cooking so far. The room is fine.

My mom is already in Good Samaritan, and it was OK, but my overall experience now is not the best. They just don’t do stuff they say they’re going to do. Her room is OK; she has a shared room with somebody, and it’s kind of small. They have activities, and they have sitting areas you can go to that are pretty nice.
