My dad was at Mantey Heights Rehabilitation & Care Center for rehab. He was in a room by himself. It was in a newer wing, but there weren't a lot of people in that hall. I don't think he got visited as often as he maybe should have because I know he fell a couple of times. The staff were friendly. My dad got along with them. There was one guy there he enjoyed talking to. The room is a hospital bed with one window. It was kind of dark, and he was the only one in there, though. They had some activities, too, that were very similar to the other place. I think they just had one or two in the cafeteria area a day, but he didn't participate in those.

My father-in-law is in Mantey Heights Rehabilitation & Care Center which is a higher level of one-on-one care. Their staff was super accommodating. They had different levels of pay scales for the rooms, they were very eager to help with the VA benefits for modifying Social Security, and anything we needed to transition into independent living care. They were more than helpful in moving furniture if we didn't have something we needed. They were a very great staff. They have a sister facility who called and said if we don't like anything over here, we can come to look over there. So their whole entire company which is Solstice, I would give them a nine out of 10. They are very, very worth it. They're one of the only three VA-funded nursing homes in the county. When you look at the reviews online, they're kind of scary, and the turnover rate for the staff is kind of high. But once you get in there, the building's been remodeled, the staff is very knowledgeable and great. They have a couple of longtime nurses, they really care about their patients, and the medical director has been wonderful. They're knowledgeable about their care and they're currently in a remodel, so the building's going to look wonderful. And they've been nothing but caring. So far, we've had nothing but a great experience. The only thing that is deterring them is just the construction, which is beyond their control. Once that's over, it'll be great. He hasn't complained about the food at all. They seemed to be giving him a very tailored diet to his diagnosis, so that's very good that they're vigilant about that. They have a weekly newsletter with games, they have an exercise room where they work with the patients and they do activities and take them out. Right now with COVID, they're choosing not to take them out in the public because they've had some COVID patients as a precaution, but typically they do. They have two busses and a driver, and they take them out and do things.

My father moved into Mantey Heights Rehabilitation & Care Center and it's amazing. The staff has been wonderful, and the food has been great so far. The staff has been amazing and very thorough in telling us exactly what's been going on, so we don't have any guess work. We've been calling a lot to check on him and they've been great about letting us, so we have no complaints. His room right now is private because they're doing a two-week quarantine because of the COVID, but he'll be in a room with someone else. They have everything. They have transportation, activities, therapy, and rehab. So it's a full-capacity nursing facility.
