The Barth offers an amazing array of amenities for their senior occupants. I was impressed with the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. From the moment we walked in, the staff was very accommodating and respectful, even when they seemed busy answering questions from the residents. My client has challenges in regards to mental illness and remembering to take medications, so was very relieved to see that medications are supervised and that residents are given daily reminders. It appeared that there was an RN on site, though I am not sure what her hours are. My client was thrilled with the menu choices and the on-site dining, but also with the freedom and accessibility to downtown dining options as well (facility is very close to major bus lines). The activities schedule offered several types of crafts, holiday events and social gatherings as well. Facility-wise, it is a beautiful historical hotel with decor reminiscent of the era it was built, but still providing residents with obvious comforts like air conditioning and of course is completely handicap accessible. A nice touch is that some of the residents have therapy pets on site as well. Only downside that I could see was that not all rooms have their own bathroom.
