My father-in-law is currently in assisted living at Sunrise of Pinehurst. We've been very pleased with it. The only reason we're leaving is the cost. The care has been excellent and the facilities are well maintained. It's just they're so pricy. They've been tremendous with him. He doesn't like the food, but I think it's very good. The facility is very well cared for. The common areas are beautiful, and the grounds are lovely. It's very nice. They've got lots of activities, but he has declined all of them. Value for money has been excellent. He just can't afford it anymore. He got amazing care there. When he first went to Sunrise, it took two people to transfer him from the bed to the wheelchair. He's gotten such good care, now he's walking around with a cane and doing all his own transfers. It's remarkable at 91.

The staff at Sunrise of Pinehurst was knowledgeable. They answered my questions. It was clean. The rooms were nice. They seemed to have quite a few facilities. They had a hair salon and a gym.

Sunrise of Pinehurst is a little bit cost prohibitive for us, but we like it. The people were very nice. They were in the middle of remodeling. They have a memory care facility right on site, which is a plus. My only drawback with them is that they do not have a secure way to give my sister her insulin shot. However, the staff were very nice. Something happened while we were there, though. Somebody wandered and used the bathroom in the apartment that we were looking at in memory care. They said that that was a pretty standard thing and happened quite a bit, but that also had me a little bit concerned. The apartment was a good size. Most of the common space was being remodeled, but it has great potential.

I went to Sunrise of Pinehurst. I liked it. It's near my house. It was under renovation. They were painting. They were putting more wood panels in and carpeting. I think what's going on is they're trying to do it all at once in one week or whatever. If they had just done room by room. I think it would have been better for people coming in. So it was hard to judge, but that was my only complaint and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. I want her to get back to me, and I'd like to do an assessment. They do assessments to see what level of care the patient needs, which is nice. And she did give me a couple of prices, but I didn't think it was right. She said $140 a day. I thought that was good because most of them were over $200 a day. I'm waiting for her to call me back. They have access to the podiatrist once a month, and the dentist as you need it, you schedule it. They have a beauty salon.

We toured Sunrise of Pinehurst. We liked what we saw there. It was pretty good. It was really clean and it was pretty modern. The people and staff were really friendly. The rooms were really nice looking. They were like an apartment. It was like two separate rooms. They had a dining area and a place like a gathering, a social room. We're considering it, but the only thing is the payments.

Sunrise at Pinehurst seemed to have a very attentive staff. The grounds were well kept and the residents seemed happy. Angie did a very good job of explaining the entire process to us. She did a fantastic job of explaining the intake process. The dining area was clean, well-spaced, and fairly homey. It wasn't like an institutional cafeteria. They also have lots of activities like tours into the mountains and the parks periodically to make sure that they have lots to do, and then they provide them with a regular schedule.

The staff at Sunrise of Pinehurst was super nice and very helpful. One of them even offered to help me, even if I wasn't going to stay there. The place just looked super tired and needed remodeling. I looked at a studio apartment, and that too needs remodeling. I think they were starting to remodel, and you had to pay more for remodeled apartments. They showed me their activity room and it was nice, but there wasn't much going on. I'm not sure if that's because of COVID or there just weren't any activities. Everything looked like it needed brightening up. It looked dark, but at least it's lively because there are lots of people in there.

Sunrise of Pinehurst was a nice and large facility, with lots of staff, and it had the look and feel of a large resort. If you don't need a tight staff to resident ratio and you're more interested in a great variety of activities, this place is okay. It is the most expensive of all the facilities that we saw because of their ala carte system, and it is based on the management's assessment of what your loved one needs. The staff was very polite, very professional, warm, and friendly. The facility was well maintained and nicely set up.

Sunrise of Pinehurst was very nice and very clean. The apartment was pretty typical, just like some of the others we have seen. There were numerous activities. The staff was very nice and very thorough and did a nice job. They served all three meals and offered laundry and transportation to various places. However, when you have two people in assisted living, it's very expensive to have a second person and much more expensive than all the others we compared it to.

The person that gave us the tour of Sunrise of Pinehurst was very personable and very professional. We enjoyed meeting with her. The main downside was that the 2-bedroom apartment was really just 2 rooms, so you either had a living room and 1 bedroom or you had 2 bedrooms and a tiny cooking area. It had a homey atmosphere because the personal living area is smaller. The people are encouraged to come out and sit in the couches and the lounges that are throughout the facility and interact, but my parents prefer to have their own comfortable space as opposed to being out in the general population. They invited us to meet with their activities director. She was a very vivacious high energy person. They do off-site activities, go to the butterfly pavilion or go to different amenities in Denver and they also have shopping buses certain days of the week. They've got the jigsaw puzzle setup, card game times, etc. They have quite a few activities for their residents. They did not have as varied of a menu.

Sunrise of Pinehurst really emphasized that they work with local medical coming to the facility -- like they had a van that comes with a dentist -- and we really liked that. It was nicely laid out; everything was branched off the central point, so nothing was a long walk back to the main area. The staff was a lovely individual, and she even gave us a CD that her father had made. They had a lot of games in their entertainment room for residents to play. They had costumes set up for the Halloween for their residents to dress up in, and they were nice costumes.

I went to Sunrise. I loved the people, but the rooms were like studio apartments, even though they said that it was one or two-bedroom; they were really not a living space and a bedroom. The facility is lovely. It is clean and nice. The staff was very friendly to me when I was there. It’s just the living space because we need a space where they could have a bedroom and have a living area with a TV and chairs. My dad would not go to the common area to watch TV with everybody. It needed to be more of an apartment, than a room. They just needed to improve on the rooms; everything else was likeable. They were awesome and wonderful. The staff was very knowledgeable. I spoke to the nurses, the recreation director, and the lady who guided me around, and everybody was very knowledgeable. I was impressed. It was very nice.

My husband was transferred out of Sunrise of Pinehurst. They say that they know how to deal with people that have memory loss, Alzheimer’s, and dementia, and they do not. They do not have professional nurses on duty like I was told when I was looking to put him in there. I am very disgusted with the place. He fell at least eight times while he was there. I will not recommend it to anybody unless you’re going to be there to take care of your loved one. When the Super Bowl was on, they had people sitting in a room to watch. They had some outings to the movies, but my husband’s in a wheelchair and with oxygen, so they would pass him by. I cannot say anything good about it. They didn't take him to any activities and only started taking him down to the dining room after I kept on insisting. I can’t think of anything that I liked about them other than that the building was beautiful.

The staff at Sunrise at Pinehurst was great, but it was a very depressing place. Literally, we felt like the people were just waiting to die. Even though they have activities, it was so depressing that it shut down my parents’ interest completely about going into one of those facilities, so we stopped looking after that. The rooms were clean but they were pretty small. Although that’s relative to whomever is looking at it; but for my parents, that’s small. It was just not a good fit for my parents. The woman who gave us a tour, I would give her a 5-star rating because she tried really hard and she was great. But for the facility, I would give 2 stars.

This place has gone down hill in the past two years. The staff that is not management only stays about 1 month until they have had enough and leave. Staff use to be happy and loved working at Sunrise. Now they hate it and it reflects on the care the are giving. Often are short staffed. The food is terrible often over cooked or worse yet under cooked. They can ruin food that is right out of a box! Upper management does not visit the residents to find out what they are unhappy about. Management walks around with heads in the clouds.

My Mother has been a resident of this facility for two years, first in the assisted living, and now in the memory care unit. This is a wonderful facility, from the staff, to the food, to the atmosphere. My Mom has received such good care here, that I wouldn't consider anywhere else for her.

Sunrise gets an A+ in all categories and they are awesome and fantastic. The food was good and the room was beautiful. The facility is top notch and expensive. My grandparents transferred there until they died. We added on care based on what they need.

Sunrise of Pinehurst was an average and cozy place. The rooms were very small. The staff were cordial and welcoming. There was a library, shopping center and restaurant near the facility. The residents all seemed happy.

Wonderful facility, amazing staff. In particular, they have expertise in memory care like no other memory care facility in Denver. Loving environment with caregivers who really care. Very impressive management.

This facility is very nice and the staff were very well trained. Overall the experience was good, the facility was spotless, and my dad was extremely pleased with the quality of food that he experienced while being cared for. Overall I loved the administration, they called everyday and gave me a check up on my dad. The gym was nice and the interior rooms were beautifully decorated. overall the stay here at this facility was one of the best that i have seen in a long time. The only complaint i have is that the phone in my dads bedroom did not work so i had no way to call him while i was away at work. But this is a minor complaint and the admins kept me well informed of his condition. In the end I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for care for a loved one especially if you want a clean and friendly facility. I will from now on send my loved ones here because I know that they are are in the best care that can possibly be accomplished.

Our relationship with Sunrise Pinehurst began in Dec. 2010. The staff is caring and attentive. The one thing that is causing us to consider a move is the lack of security in and out of the rooms. When we are not here the room is locked. The staff can come and go as they please with no system (ie: card entry) to keep track of who enters. We have had 2 wedding rings, an expensive blanket, money and checking account numbers stolen. DO NOT come here without a safe OR don't bring anything of value with you.
