Vista Mesa Assisted Living is a fairly small place with around 60 residents. Mom is one of the few who attends just their day activity programs and participates in what they have to offer for all their residents. There are registered nurses on staff and an activity director who does an excellent job of providing varied activities every day. They do fitness and exercises, games, and senior meetings. They serve lunch and dinner, and there are snacks provided. There are special activities several days a week, and musicians coming in doing sing-alongs with the residents at least two days a week. There is a day room available with lounge chairs and a real quiet area where Mom can lie down and take a nap.

Vista Mesa is a friendly and home like facility. My grandmother lives here and she is always well cared for. She is clean and groomed, her room is always clean and has some of the best views in the southwest. Their food is well planned and tastes well. The staff are so kind and gentle with her. I would not want her any where else.

In the last 4 years, Vista Mesa has provided excellent care for my Mother. The staff excels in quality care. The cleanliness is superior. My Mom's room is always spot clean.. I notice the affectionate hugs my Mom receives from the her caregivers. Compared to other facilities the food is well prepared and delicious. VIsta Mesa offers fun and nteresting activities for the enjoyment of their residents.

I saw Vista Mesa. They had big windows so you could see outside and they bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendlier than the other place I visited and it looked homier.

I thought the facility were very updated and clean. My grandmother's room was very clean and comfortable for her. She had a very nice bed and a television so she could watch her favorite programs. The food that was served looked healthy and my grandma did enjoy eating it. The halls and grounds of the facility were well kept and relaxing. The front desk staff was kind and helpful, they always greeted my family warmly when we entered. The only problem was with many of the nurses and assistants. On multiple occasions they would be very cold and rude not only to my grandma but to my family members. Some of the staff would get frustrated with my grandma if she was not doing exercises or tasks that they had assigned. I felt that they could have been more compassionate to an 82-year-old who had very serious stomach surgery. One of the nurses incorrectly lifted my grandmother and strained my grandmother's back. The facility apologized for the error on her part but I feel that this should have not happened.
