What stands out is how friendly and helpful all of the ladies are who work there. I couldn't be more pleased with them and their caring attitude. They are careful to work with each patient but not force them to do something if they object. They are quick to attend to my requests and answer my questions. I believe my Mom is well cared for there and am grateful.

My aunt is at Brookdale Briargate. I like how friendly the staff is and how happy the residents are. It seems like they engage their residents with mental stimulation. It is a very fitting place. My aunt has a studio apartment all to herself. It's kind of a little living room, a bedroom, a little kitchenette with no stove because it's memory care, and then her own private bathroom with a roll-in type shower if the person is in a walker or wheelchair. It's a very nice place. With regard to food, I have tried a little bit of it, and it is pretty good. There are some sitting areas on every corner there, and they have little Christmas displays up with lights, tiny miniature houses, and different shops, all decorated with Christmas stuff on the little displays. And they have some doll houses around and they've got a big living room where they encourage all the residents to come out. In the morning, they have coffee, and they work on crossword puzzles together. They have a big TV there. On Sundays and days when they worship, they put that on the TV and they all sing. They put on programs like music programs and dancing programs. There's a little courtyard in the middle where they can all go outside. It's very nice.

We liked Brookdale Briargate. That was probably the nicest one we'd seen. But they never could give us a price on it because they couldn't determine the level of care that was needed. So it kind of just has gone nowhere, but we'll keep them on a backup list. Beautiful community, very active for the clients. Interactive activities, I love that. I didn't see that in any others specifically being handled so well. They rate number one in our book of just what could have been. It's going to be pretty expensive though, at the end of the day. It's a little dated, but that would be perfect for our parents. They don't like that modern look today anyway. It was clean and nice. They got it down and I hope more, more communities will follow their pattern.

I toured Brookdale Briargate. They were very friendly. It had a homey feel. They had a nice courtyard in the center so you could go outside and still be enclosed. That felt safe. They had a big open room with a fireplace in the front. The staff who gave me the tour was very helpful. She answered any questions I had and took the time to talk me through some concerns I had about potential issues with relocating my mom. The staff all seemed happy. You could just tell that vibe that they were working together.

I liked the fact that Brookdale Briargate is a small community. That means that each resident is going to get individualized attention. I liked the attitude of the employees and how they're dedicated to doing their job and taking care of their residents. Jo was good. She helped a lot and provided a lot of information. She took me on a tour and explained everything. She was very patient and I didn't feel like I was being rushed. The dining area was small and comfortable. There were different levels of memory care issues and those who were able to function seemed to be very comfortable. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff was very accommodating. The activities depend on the level of their mental function. They were playing some games when we were there. It was some kind of cognitive exercise and they made it fun.

The people at Brookdale Briargate were super. They went out of their way to be of assistance to us, and they brought us a big basket of deli and cheese after the tour. The facility was super, it was locked down, and it's in an upscale portion of Colorado Springs. The residents could leave, but they had to sign out to leave if they were allowed. However, they didn't take Medicaid. They had a dining room with a meal schedule, and they had a menu posted with all the food options. They had a library, lots of activities, exercise areas, knitting and crocheting classes, puzzle rooms, transportation to outside medical support, they had nurses, outside areas where they could walk or sit, and a courtyard. They also accommodate pets.

I can't say enough on how thankful I am for each and every one of the staff members at Brookdale Briargate. I moved my uncle out to Colorado Springs from another state to be close to me. He had broken his hip the first week in January and was on a long road to recovery. Finding a safe and caring place was very stressful. From the very first phone call, meetings and every visit, I was always treated like family. The director, management and nursing staff are extremely involved which made communication so simple. My uncle was a great guy but he was stubborn and could be difficult to please. He told me that being here and at Brookdale Briargate was the happiest he had been in a long time. That was a huge compliment! The management, nurse and all of the staff were SO patient with him, listened to him, cared for him and always had a positive attitude. My uncle passed away on June 15th due to a long history and complications with COPD. He will be greatly missed but I find such peace that he ended his time on earth in a place he enjoyed and called home.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Lorelei and her caring staff. I have had my uncle here for a little over a year and unfortunately he has reached the next level of care beyond what they can provide. They are honest and kept me informed of any changes in his care or needs. The monthly family themed dinners are a treat and were fun to attend. The food is of a gourmet quality and they offer choices for picky folks to make sure they get enough. The facility is clean and very homey. Yes, it is older but that's part of the cozy feel. There is a wide variety of activities. When my uncle was more mobile and there were enough men, they would go for a men's lunch. He enjoyed that very much. Once he required Hospice care, Brookdale Hospice was just as wonderful. They called with weekly visit reports from the nurse's visit. I also had regular contact with a chaplain and a social worker who wanted to be sure my needs as a caregiver were met as well as my uncle's. Will be a sad day soon when he has to transfer out. Highly recommend this facility to anyone who wants their loved one treated like family.

We settled on Brookdale Briargate. We chose it because of the people, the facilities, and the location. It is clean and neat. The people who work there are very nice, very down to earth, and more than willing to help with anything. The fact that they’re close to my home helps a lot, and they’re not overly expensive compared to other places in town that I’ve checked with. They feed them three meals a day and give them three snacks a day. They have a nurse practitioner and person who gives out their meds. They have movies and a guy in there the other day singing with his guitar. They take them places on occasion and do exercises. They also do their laundry, both personal and linen. They are wonderful people.

I liked Brookdale Briargate very much. I had him there for respite care for a month. The only problem was that they didn't have a registered nurse 24/7, so it didn't qualify for nursing home status according to the insurance. My experience was good. The staff and care were excellent. I had no complaints. I thought it was very good.

I visited Brookdale Briargate. It was homey with a small amount of residents. There seemed to be a lot of activities going on in the living room area. The staff and he dining area were very nice. One thing I really like about them is that they cut up all of the residents' food ahead of time, so nobody felt like they were singled out. The rooms were extraordinarily small, and I did not care for the bedrooms. However, I like that it had a homey atmosphere and that they all seemed to be caring.

My mom has dementia and we like having the smaller care -- that is the reason why we chose Sterling House of Briargate for her. They have 35 rooms and it was only on one level, so we felt like it was a really safe and secured place for her. We've been really pleased with the staff -- with the way that they treat my mom and the other residents. The dining room is open and pretty. My mother is very hard to please with regards to the food, so they really do try to get her to eat, but she is pretty tough that way. She goes to music activities where they have somebody play the piano or play the guitar, but that's about it. She does sit in the main area a lot and just kind of looks around, but she is pretty social.
