I am so extremely satisfied with Juniper Village @ Aurora! My father is very happy to be there dealing with his Alzheimers! The staff and caretakers are very attentive and cater to his every need! This is a very scary time for my Dad but Juniper makes him feel safe and content. He loves the food and especially that he is welcome to have his beloved cat with him. Juniper has also been wonderful with me! Jennifer and Tom and the entire staff have my sincere gratitude!! Highly recommend Juniper if you have a loved one dealing with Memory issues.

Juniper Village at Aurora was in need of paint and in need of some outside attention. There was some graffiti on one of the fences near Mississippi Avenue, but the inside was very clean and very pleasant. There were no odors. Everybody was extremely nice. Jackie was an absolute doll. When we went into the conference room, they brought in freshly baked cookies for us that were done right there by their chef. The cookies were outstanding. About a day after our visit, I received a book from her (The 36-hour Day was the name of the book). It was a very unexpected and very kind gesture from her. Residents were getting ready to have lunch. Looks like they might have just finished up an art class. The residents were clean. They were in different stages of dementia or Alzheimer's, but they still looked like they had been well-cared for. They were greeted by name whenever someone walked into the room, so they knew their residents well.

I toured Juniper Village at Aurora memory care and I thought they were great. I thought they were fantastic. It was clean, they were very friendly, and it was very nice. Jennifer toured me and she was amazing, she was great. I only looked at single rooms and they were great and beautiful. I wasn't there during mealtime but the dining area looked good. I saw the residents too, but no formal activities were happening. They have a library, a beauty salon, a physical therapy room, and a relaxing room.

My brother-in-law is at Juniper Village. I think they’re wonderful, compassionate people. The facility is in excellent condition. There is nothing that apparently needs repair. It is a clean place where you’re not embarrassed to have your family move in. They’re not inexpensive, but they’re definitely worth the money.

My husband had a two-day experience in Juniper Village Fellowship Program. Our experience there was fine. My husband didn't attend the program that much though. I liked the place. I also think that the staff does an adequate job. They were all helpful. They provided some social programs too.
Provider Response
We are so happy that your husband was able to participate in our Fellowship Day Program. This program, provided within our Wellspring Memory Care community, offers a very focused day program for those diagnosed with dementia. The participants engage in the same social, spiritual and physical activities as the residents who live there full time. This program provides a bit of respite for caregivers as well as a unique opportunity for the participants. We are pleased to have provided this opportunity to both you and your husband. We hope to see you both again.

I've visited Juniper Village of Aurora a number of times--for professional reasons and to do assessments of residents. They offer memory care assisted living only. It's set up as 4 "houses"--with a common area in the middle--with 13 residents in each house. There's a large, fenced-in courtyard, which offers a safe place to walk. There's a lot of room to wander around, not feel confined. Most of the rooms are private, but there are 4 semi-private rooms. And most have showers. It's all very nice and has a homey feel. The direct care staff is very well trained in dementia care, and they're all given continuing education. They're well equipped to handle the challenges of memory care. The ratio of staff to residents is also very good. The food is prepared in the main kitchen and brought to each house, where it's served family style. It's very good. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies. The activities program is really good. They have a strong program geared to memory care--including many 1:1 activities.
