My mom has lived at Sutter Estates Senior Apartments for 2 years and is comfortably happy there. It has fewer services than an Assisted Living facility, but meets her needs, and the price is right. The building is always clean and safe, the staff is kind and professional, and the transition to the new management in 2019 went smoothly. The staff kept everyone safe during Covid, curbing their activities during so they didn't bring it in to the facility, and carefully screening all visitors. There are a two things that she'd like to see - a little better food with more salads and fresh vegetables, and a some updating of the decor, but that's all. She appreciates all the in-house activities, the exercise class, the salon, the weekly maid service, and the seasonal decorations. Overall, it's a nice place to live.

I toured Sutter Estates Retirement Community. It was a nice place, but it was just overpriced and they had a lot of restrictions on smoking. The apartments were OK. They showed me 3 different types of apartments. They had a puzzle room, a beauty parlor, and a laundry room. They had bingo and other normal activities. The staff was nice. The dining area was very big, nice, and clean. The building itself was maintained clean.

My father stayed at Sutter Estates Retirement Community. It's two stories. The staff is very family oriented and they all do everything. The person who works in the front desk jumps up at 8:00 and runs into the dining room and serves the residents, and afterward she's cleaning tables. The housekeepers also help serve in the dining room. They're very hands on with the residents. It's a good facility. You can bring your pets, and there's a pet deposit required. They have two apartment sizes: a small studio and a one-bedroom, which are adequate, and each room had a little porch. My dad was on the top floor. They're a gated community. The food was excellent, and they had snacks available all day and night. The residents were happy being there. It's an older facility and it showed signs of wear, but they were on top of everything all the time. The activities were wonderful. They had religious services, a library, an on-site beauty parlor, card games, bingo, ice cream socials, casino nights, and they take them to appointments or to the grocery store. The staff treats everyone like family. There's a staff member there all the time. You live independently, but if you need help, it's there.

Sutter Estates Retirement Community is doing a good job, and it's worth the money. The rooms are clean, and they're a little bigger than I expected. The people are very courteous. It's a good place for a senior citizen to retire to. It's not that expensive, and the people are very nice. They clean the rooms, and they cook the food. The staff is really great.

Sutter Estates is very welcoming, very personal. The staff is very responsive and involved, from what I've seen. As a facility, they don't offer assisted living directly in terms of services, but they are more proactive, by encouraging the family to add what services are needed. I find them responsive and helpful. My father definitely feels welcome there; they have established a nice environment for their clients. They have a bridge club, they do an exercise class pretty much every day, and play Bingo. Because it is a senior living rather than assisted living, as Cathy Stoker, who is the manager, explained to me, there are many sort of special interest groups of people that are informal, and so it is not so much that Sutter Estates itself offers a chess club. Instead, those people who like to play chess have found each other, and after that they pretty well knew that they like to play chess. They serve three meals a day in the dining area, and basically, if you don't show up, they are going to have someone looking for you just to make sure you are OK. They do house cleaning regularly. They have a website. I have their brochure, and I feel like the brochure they hand out fairly represents what they do, and we've been quite happy. It has been a month and a half since I first visited; I have been there four times, and every time they pay attention to the details and they get to know their people.
