My 96 yr old mother moved into Sunrise over 2 months ago and she says she should have done it sooner! The staff is amazing, caring, concerned and learned my mother’s name as well as us, her daughters very quickly. The staff made the move in so easy and were able to give us great advice to make it easier. My mother loves the food. The menu are incredible, something for everyone no matter what your tastes are. There are so many varied activities, something for everyone. Once a month they invite the family for a themed dinner: Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day etc. The decorations are amazing as well as the table center pieces. And the food is soooo good! We haven’t missed one since we attended the first one. My mind is so at ease knowing my mother is well cared for 25/7 by wonderful and caring people. Would highly recommend Sunrise yo anyone!

I toured Sunrise of Yorba Linda. What stood out was the camaraderie between the staff members. Everybody is saying hello to one another. They seemed very happy like a family in their jobs. I was impressed by that and the residents seemed very content. I chatted with a few and they are very inviting. I like their house dogs. The residents care for the dogs. The rooms, dining room, menus, and activities were nice. They have movie nights, bingo, library, and arts and crafts.

My grandfather moved into Sunrise of Yorba Linda a month ago. What we were told initially about the cost turned out not really to be accurate. At every turn, we're being nickeled and dimed. So, it's costing twice as much as we were initially told. They tell him he's going to get a shower and he doesn't, and these are things that we're paying extra for. He refuses to participate in activities, but they do come and they take him down for every meal if he wants to go. They've encouraged him to sit with other people. Generally, the facility appears neat and clean in the common areas at first look. But we have concerns about them not cleaning the entire counter and the bathrooms as well as we would have liked. His room is a little studio, but it's comfortable. My grandfather is in a wheelchair but the microwave is up so high that even a standing person would have to reach it. Things like that maybe aren't thought out as well as they should be. The bathroom is great as far as accessibility for him, but other things look like they didn't think them through properly. The staff is very nice and very helpful. They try hard, but they're a little short-staffed.

Sunrise of Yorba Linda is a small community, but they offer things that other communities don't like shots for insulin. It's hard to find a community that helps with insulin, so that was one of the things that we like about that community, and we might choose to ultimately go there because of that. But I wouldn't recommend Sunrise for someone who has more independence and can do things on their own. It's more of a high care kind of facility. There's like a movie room, and they have a pianist come and play during the day. Those are the two things that we saw when we were there. However, there's no outdoor area, and it's very strict. I would only choose that community if the level of care was needed. They do provide more care than other places. The rooms are outdated, but overall, it was clean.

I went to Sunrise of Yorba Linda. Everything was very clean and organized. I liked the entire place. It seemed like a nice atmosphere, they're caring people, and the rooms were very nice. I was impressed by it. They showed me an assisted living room, but they told me that when someone has to go to memory care, they're more just like in a hospital room. They don't have apartments in memory care. They just have rooms because they like to get them out doing things with others. The only thing I didn't like there is that once you need memory care, they boot you out of the nice little apartment and stick you in a room. The employees seemed great. I did not try the food, but that was one of the impressive aspects of this place. The dining area is run just like a restaurant. The residents get a menu and the server when they type in the person's name on the iPad, all of that person's stuff comes up (e.g, no salt, etc.). I thought that was very impressive that it's organized.

Sunrise of Yorba Linda is a smaller and very nice place, but the memory care is totally segregated from the assisted living, and they don't let the residents there come out unless they're with somebody else. I just felt like they were too isolated. The staff was very nice, and one thing I like is that they're pet-friendly. They have a resident dog there.

I was very impressed with Sunrise at Yorba Linda. It was beautiful, and the services were very nice. The woman that met with was really informative, and very helpful; she answered all my questions. It was a very nice facility. I wish my mom would move, but she doesn't want to move. They had every single thing that my mom would need. They had a salon, and it was just beautiful. The décor was very homey and warm. The dining room was very pretty; in fact, I want to move in.

Sunrise has activities like exercise class, meals together, and trips. It is a delightful place; I couldn't say enough good things about it. It's very clean, has helpful people, and has classes and activities going on all the time. There's a list of things to do. The people that run it are very nice. The staff is very helpful, and the food is good.

Sunrise was nice, and it was clean, but it was not a fit for dad. It was expensive based on what they offer. Moving in and out of the rooms in wheelchairs would not be an issue. Each person decorated their own rooms with their own furniture, so there was a variety of designs.

We did like Sunrise of Yorba Linda. It was a little outdated -- the memory care -- but other than that, it looked pretty nice. The dining area just did not look really good. The staff people were very nice.

I chose Sunrise for my husband, and he moved in a month ago. Sunrise was my favorite because of the location from my home and amenities. It was fabulous. They were fantastic with the transition, and their activities were wonderful. The staff sends me email and tells me how he’s doing even though I’m going there just about every day. It’s been a wonderful experience.

Sunrise of Yorba Linda was a very home-like facility. We wanted to make sure that they had a piano because mom plays the piano. They had tons of activities every day, like yoga and a salon on site, and they allow you to have pets. The staff was very wonderful. We also talked to the residents there who were very happy with the quality of the people that work there. When you walk in, there is a huge piano and an area for a lot of people to sit while listening to a concert or speaker. The dining area is set up to the side and there's a lot of glass windows, so you can see the beautiful grounds outside. The place was not huge, but it had a nice, welcoming feeling and smelled wonderful. The room had exactly what mom wanted, including a bedroom, a little kitchen, and a place where she could entertain people outside of her bedroom.

We got my aunt into a place. She is at Sunrise at Yorba Linda. We chose them because of recommendations from many friends. The staff's work ethics are awesome. The rooms are very nice. My aunt is quite pleased. She participates in all the activities that interest her. It is a very secure community. It is a very pleasant place to be.

My mother is in the dementia unit of Sunrise. She’s getting good care there. All the time they have a program. They have music, touch therapy, dog therapy and they just talk about memory issues. The facility is very well maintained, clean, and very homey atmosphere. It’s just a moderate size facility for the memory care -- maybe about twenty individual the most; so it’s just big enough so that they have enough caregivers for all the individuals that are there. I highly recommend the facility. The staff is excellent and very caring. They’re diligent and they understand that the residents are really fragile and they talk to them and they touch them. They’re very good. I’d be very comfortable with them.

We were able to visit Sunrise, and it was very clean. It had a really nice feel to it, and we really liked it. The people were very friendly. I think that they had music in the lobby area, and it was really comfortable. It was kind of up on a hilly area, and it still had some residential areas and fields. It seemed a little bit more open. They residents could drive, or, if they couldn't, they had a bus service option. The only problem we were thinking was the distance. My uncle lived in Orange, and his doctor was located towards Santa. Ana. So, it was a little bit farther him to travel to go to his doctor, and I thought it would be an issue if we put him in there.

Sunrise at Yorba Linda was wonderful. It would have been my first choice. However, they're very expensive. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. They have activities but mostly indoor. However, they do have walking and they also take their residents out every once in awhile.

When my mother was still alive, she stayed in Sunrise at Yorba Linda. We like this facility. The staff was caring for my mother and their care was pretty good. . They were efficient in meeting mom's needs. My mom's needs were specific because she had a stroke and couldn't communicate well, but they were able to meet all her needs. The meals they serve there were good, it could have been perfect if it was gourmet class, but it was good enough. In general, we were happy with this facility and my mom was happy and content when she was there.

My mom has lived here 2 1/2 years. She was fairly independent when she moved in but had a stroke a few months after she moved in. She was able to stay in her own room after the stroke because she was put on hospice care. She has received such good care from Sunrise. She's been completely bedridden over 2 years now and has not had one bedsore. They feed, bathe and change her and take excellent care of her. The care managers are wonderful. They take time to learn my mom's likes and dislikes and are so warm and loving with her. It's been hard on my family and me having my mom is such a declined state but we never for one second have had any concerns about the way she's been cared for. I have nothing but high praises for this facility. They truly love and care for their residents and it shows.
