My mother was at The Kensington. The room was very sufficient for her needs. It was well-kept and well-prepared. She got a one-bedroom apartment. They had three meals a day. They had a lot of things to do. They had a music room, a library, and movies. They had pretty much everything anybody would look for. The place was very nice.

My mother will move into The Kensington. The staff was professional and kind. They were great. It's a beautiful facility. My husband said the food was very good.

This facility has been going downhill for at least a couple of years. Appearances are deceiving. Very short staffed. Facility relies on outside agencies for staffing. Residents not receiving services for which they are paying. No consistency in service. Food is not of good quality. Stay away from this facility.

Right now, we're at The Kensington in Walnut Creek. We've been with them for eight months now. We're very happy with The Kensington. We like everything. The atmosphere is excellent. The staff is excellent. We have a nice room. Everything about it so far has been excellent. We have three meals a day served in the dining room. The food is good. They have a whole bunch of activities, and we take part in a few of them that we like. The people there are excellent. They really try to give a big selection of food, but I don't like everything that they serve us. It's an old place that was renovated, and it's very, very good. It's an excellent value for the money.

I went to look and it seems to have all the services that a person requires all the way through life. The staff was very comprehensive. They have nice trails to walk on, a nice courtyard, a nice cafeteria, a little bistro, physical training classes, and book clubs. It is near the shopping centers.

Everybody seemed very personable. The staff was great and very friendly; we liked them a lot. The other rooms were quite nice and had patios and balconies. It was a large facility, and the rooms seemed a little more spread out. They had a beautiful courtyard and activities. They had a calendar, a newsletter, and a website. I was impressed with it.
A happy visitor

It was very nice and had a variety of activities. They were perfectly adequate for what we are probably going to need. The garden areas were very nice and had gardening opportunities for people outside.

I wasn’t completely impressed as we didn’t get to see inside the rooms and just got a floor plan of what they looked like. The place was very nice and clean, though, and looked like it would be a pleasant place in which to spend time. The staff was very polite, nice, and cordial. It was a one-bedroom apartment, approximately 800 to 1,000 sq. ft.

My sister-in-law works at the church with many residents from here, so we went on a tour. We liked the layout of it and everything so we just took mom there to check it out and she really liked it. Our experience was very positive. Mom and Dad are in a 1-bedrom. They widened the shower door a little bit more because my father has a walker so it’s cozy and perfect for them. I’ve eaten there many times and the food is excellent. The chef does an incredible job and the specials always taste great. Dad does the exercise classes and mom sometimes goes with him. I haven’t had any problem with the staff, and they’ve been able to answer our questions and do things that we needed.

I came across it when I was looking for a place for mom. The facility seems great and I really liked that the people looked happy. The workers seemed to really care and the people there were just really wonderful. The only thing I had a problem with is that it’s a little big for my mom with 150 apartments but other than that, I liked everything about it. I know they had church services, parties, and different kinds of entertainment. I didn’t try the food, but I loved the rooms as they have decor in them, which is an important thing for my mom. They had an outdoor space that seemed bigger than some of the other places I visited. The place stood out to me as it is very important to mom for the place to have an outdoor space and it overlooked a beautiful garden.

My aunt was here a little over two years. It's a very good facility. They had a good staff, and they took very good care of her. They had a courtyard, which was very pleasant and beautiful yet still enclosed within their buildings. My aunt found a boyfriend while she was there. They had excellent food, and they also had an excellent chef.

We loved it. It was an older facility, but it was very nicely appointed. It was very warm from the minute you walked in. Everyone was very friendly. The dining area had just been remodeled, and it was very nice. We had lunch there, and the food was great. They had crab night once a week, which was really out of the ordinary. I liked that it was very oriented to the people who lived there. They had wonderful amenities and great activities.

This is the nicest facility of the three we have visited in our search for a two-bedroom unit within a community offering independent and assisted living and memory care. The building is very nice, the grounds are lovely, the staff appears to be dedicated and competent, and the activity schedule offers something for everyone. The residents we met while on our tour all appeared to be happy here.

It was very nice. It seemed like the people and their services were very integrated. It was very pleasant. The staff was helpful and personable. They sat down with us and tried to do a breakdown of the cost, which was difficult for my sister because if she was inside, she would need to have a caregiver with her there. So, we were going to work out some more details and right now, things are kind of on hold. But, yes, I was very, very impressed. They sat us down, gave us lunch, we talked, and it was just very impressive. They have a supreme chef who will be able to accommodate my sister's special needs because she's a diabetic, and he could do this for her on a daily basis. The rooms are all nice and I would prefer my sister to be on the first level because she'd have a patio.

This is a great facility hands down! They specialize in Dementia Care and have people trained who seem to really care about seniors with memory challenges - a challenge for family & friends of loved ones. I LOVE the mesh of activities they have available promoting seniors to continually be social & physical! I was pretty impressed. It's a unique place w a special focus on keeping seniors healthy, busy & active - doing the normal everyday things so the transition isn't such a challenge.
