My husband has moved into Sterling Commons Memory Care Community. It seems very clean, and they're very, very nice and caring. I have not been out there to visit him yet because they don't want people to visit him until about a week later so that he can get used to living there, but he's doing fine. He's in a double room. It has two beds and it's very nice and it looks out onto a patio. They have stuff, but I don't know if he's doing it or not. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. For what they're doing for him, it's worth it.

Living Well
Our Personal Touch Care Program is a holistic approach aimed at maintaining Residents well? being and self-worth, It is a program that encompasses all aspects of our resident care.
While many think of "Activities" as pre-planned group events, such as exercise, crafts and music events where almost everyone participates, we think of "Activity" as everything the resident does throughout the day weather planned or spontaneous. This includes our residents personal care, conversations with others and even time alone.
We spend a great deal of time assisting residents with personal care and the daily routines can become more meaningful when we are making sure we are using sensitivity and creativity to create the special Personal Care Moment.

Sterling Commons is a beautiful location for persons experiencing any level of dementia. My friend is now residing in the area for persons at the higher cognitive level. Her room and all the rooms in the building are always kept very clean and well maintained. The staff even helped her family decorate my friend’s room by adding two lovely framed pictures on a blank wall. My friend is given many opportunities throughout the day to interact with the staff who care for her. They call her by name and most know about her specific likes and dislikes. She is offered various special activities that are arranged for the residents each week including live entertainment, games, group activities, holiday events and short bus tours. These activities help to keep her mind more active. (I always pick up a copy of the monthly calendar so I can see what is happening each day.) Since there is a hair salon in the facility, my friend is able to get her hair fixed on a regular basis. This is good for her self-esteem. Whenever I have visited with my friend at the facility or taken her away for lunch, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. They know my name and many are aware that we have been friends for many years. I feel good knowing my friend is now living in such a safe environment where she continues to be encouraged to be as active as she is able.

My husband has received excellent care at Sterling Commons. Debbie, Debra and Sheila have been wonderful to work with and have taken the necessary time to ensure that he is receiving quality care with dignity. The rooms are spacious, light and cheerful. Annie always has fun activities scheduled. Chrissy, Destiny and Carmen have provided my husband with very good care. Sterling Commons is an excellent memory care facility.

The darkness of dementia has devastated my family three different times. It steals lives and it steals dignity. But there is a light in the dark. A place where dignity is restored. The light is Sterling Commons and the light is powered by the love and compassion in the heart of every angel that works there. I have dealt with three different Care Communities in three different states and Sterling Commons has been my best experience, no question. A bit of the burden has been lifted knowing my Mother now resides at Sterling Commons.

My mother moved into Sterling Commons Memory Care Community. They've been really good. Mom said the food is really good. They have all kinds of activities, they have bingo, and they do crafts. It's expensive, but they're worth it. They take them on bus trips, keep them busy. They have patios.

I visited Sterling Commons Memory Care Community. It was very nice and very clean. I liked it, but the only problem was the price. We had scones, and they were excellent. The staff was very friendly.

My mother has been in Sterling Commons for a month and a half now. It is absolutely amazing. It is like a beautiful 5-star hotel. The staff is beautiful and very vigilant. They know what my mother is doing and can tell me if my mother hasn't been out of her room. Same thing with the nursing care. They keep me updated with my mother's hemorrhoids that we did not know she had. I haven't tried the food but it looks delicious. My mother is actually going to mass now, which she hasn't done before. She stays by herself but she is starting to come out and meet people. Everytime I go there, they're doing something with the residents, like playing cards, or there's music playing and people singing.

My father, who has dementia, has been living at Sterling Commons for about 2 years now. It's the perfect place for him. He feels secure and content there. The environment is warm and welcoming. It's a homey atmosphere. It's clean and comfortable. The food is great, and Dad gets to interact with the other residents during meal time. They even provide snacks a couple of times a day. The best part of Sterling Commons is the people who work there and help Dad. They're exceptional people who really care for the residents. Dad has all his needs met, from help with personal hygiene to prescription management, and he even gets his annual flu shots right on the premises. He enjoys the frequent entertainment and the twice weekly bus rides around the community. My family feels so grateful that he's in a place where he is so well taken care of.

Sterling Commons is really nice. Everybody knows what is going on with their patients and can answer the questions. They have been very helpful and very quick in getting whatever needs to be done. They take them out on a bus a couple of times a week, and they have activities everyday like games, music, and arts. They can go indoors and outdoors as they pleased, and there is always somebody there to watch them, so it feels more to them like home than a hospital.

My wife has been in the Sterling Commons for just over a year. One of the hardest decisions I have ever made was to make this her home. She has, however, been very comfortable there and has received outstanding care. Like all places where you might leave the one you care most about, there have been, from time to time, issues regarding her care. The Director and staff have been very responsive to my concerns and have made moves to correct circumstances that did arise. I receive calls about her good days as well as other issues as they arise. Staffing levels were one of my major concerns and the administration is making moves to increase staff available for interaction with residents. I am a retired social worker with experience in working with the aging. I find the Sterling Commons a warm and supportive place with staff who care.

I cannot recommend Sterling Commons high enough. The facillity, caregivers, staff and administration all treated our family with love and respect. I only wish we had moved my Mother to this home years earlier.

Sterling Commons was really nice, and they are very accomodating. I used their day care and respite care. I was pleased with them; it’s just not cheap. Security was very good. All the wards are locked so that my mom won't escape.

Very beautiful facility. Sterling Commons is in a nice desert area and has lovely decor. I felt comfortable there because the staff was friendly and eager to answer my questions. There seemed to be several activities for the residents. This facility is for people who suffer from Alzheimer's Disease and the staff have really done an amazing job at creating ways to keep the residents entertained and active. The facility was clean and the residents seemed happy and content. I went around and tried to see as many people as I could and they all seemed to have high spirits and were participating in activities.Of course no place is going to be the same as home, but this would be a very nice place to live. When the time comes this facility is at the top of our list because of the caring staff and beautiful desert views.
