I'm at The Lodge at Glen Cove right now. I went to three communities, and The Lodge is the most modern, the most caring, has the most money invested in it, and it's the newest. And in addition to that, it's right on the water in Vallejo whereas the others are stuck in the woods somewhere, and there is no scenery whatsoever. In addition, the food is very good; I just came from breakfast. The waiters are very good. The front desk is very helpful. The security is very good. I could go on and on and on. I like it. They have a full activity calendar with music, games, and puzzles. Amanda, who is the activity director, and Tina, the assistant activity director, have been very helpful. That's something else that's important. They don't just have one activity director. They have an activity director and an assistant activity director so that it's available seven days a week. The same applies to maintenance. They have the head of maintenance (he's also in charge of the housekeeping) and then they have the assistant of the maintenance. Therefore, they're covering it for seven days, and they have to pay two employees, which is not cheap. Also, the parking is very good. There's a big parking lot. Even more than that, there are two buses that the community owns for outside activities, and in addition, a local public bus comes. The Lodge is very lively. In the other two places, the people were kind of sleepy. And I think that reflects on what's going on here. The value for money is better here than in the other two places but more expensive.

I toured The Lodge at Glen Cove. The tour was fine. It was great. It was the first one I visited, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I got a lot out of it. I understood their facility and the options available. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. She gave me a lot of details and she walked me through about how the facility works, so that was good. They have studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. They showed me the dining room and they explained the activities that they had. It's a four-year-old facility, so it's in good shape. It looks like a Radisson Hotel, so it's kind of nice.

My sister will be moving into the Lodge at Glen Cove. The facilities are excellent. The price was pretty competitive. It was more reasonable than some of the other places that we looked at. It is built right on the Martinez Waterfront, so you can look out the windows in the dining hall, and you can actually see the water and the harbor right there. It's very scenic and quiet. The rooms are very well-appointed. They have excellent bathroom facilities. They don't have the things that we were concerned about, like a four-burner stove or even any stove at all. They have a microwave. Most of the meals were served in a dining hall, which is really nice. They provide a weekly laundry and cleaning service that's all included in the base price. We thought it was very comprehensive. The person who showed us around was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, has a lot of experience, was very accommodating, and tried to help us find a room that fit my sister's needs. We saw the menu, and it looked really good. The people were very complimentary of the meal service. For the price and what you get for it, I think it's an excellent facility.

My dad moved into The Lodge at Glen Cove. It's a newer facility. It's very nice, very clean. The dinner options were nice. There's a great view. The weather's nice and the people are friendly. The room was nice and the bathroom is ADA compliant in his studio. So far, so good, it's only been a couple of weeks though. They have movies, games, poker, happy hour, cribbage, and shuttles to local restaurants. There are several courtyards and a little breezeway down to the water.

My mom moved into the Lodge at Glen Cove. It's a beautiful area and building. My mom's room is nice. She has a smaller room, but it's nicely laid out. Sometimes they're a little slow with repairs. When my mom first got here, she complained that the food was cold. Some foods she likes, and a lot of them she just doesn't like. It just depends on how she feels about eating. They play bingo and other types of games and exercise in their wheelchairs. They have performances and movie theaters. They have an activity chart where they are doing things. I think the staff members are like on a time frame where they have to do things quickly. They don't always respond right away when they're needed. They always say they're understaffed. I think they're having my mom out among other people, even though they're just sitting in the chair and not locked in a room.

The staff at The Lodge at Glen Cove was very nice and their food was good. They had a good cook. They had a lot of activities that were going on there. They had different groups that visit, which I appreciate, and people who brought in comfort dogs (I love dogs). As you go into the main entrance, they have a coffee shop area where they could curate their meals. They've got a nice big fireplace with chairs and couches around it. It was very comfortable.

Nice that they have individual rooms but that is it. The care techs don't know the residents at all just call them by their room numbers it's so sad! One time when I visited the med tech was sleeping on his shift. My loved one was never bathed, her hair was always dirty, she got infections, they didn't even tell us when she was being treated for an infection we had to find out weeks later by the doctor they had come to see her not them! We switched her to a smaller facility where they actually get to know her and learn her name.

I went to The Lodge at Glen Cove. It's a beautiful place. It's brand new. I thought that in the memory my mom would get lost because it's so big and beautiful, and she doesn't do big and beautiful. She does small and intimate, and I think that's the reason I couldn't put my mom there. The tour director, or the person who is doing the touring was perfectly fine, very personable, knowledgeable, and engaging. It felt more like a five-star hotel.

I visited The Lodge at Glen Cove. It was very nice and was all brand new. They have individual apartments but no kitchen really, they only have a refrigerator, and a microwave. That was one of the drawbacks that there were no kitchens. Nothing was up and running, so I could not tell you anymore about it. It was not ready to open yet, and I did not see anyone. You can play cards, and they'll have a beautician and nails, that is all that I picked up on. I really would like to have a small kitchen.
