Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living has beautiful grounds. There are places throughout where they have tables with umbrellas on them where you can go and sit and visit with people. It's very nice. Regarding the staff, they're all very good and very professional. In terms of activities, we have a book club, bingo 3 or 4 days a week, and there's rummy cube, pinnacle, bridge, and plenty of games. And if you don't like to play games, then there are tables throughout the facility where there are jigsaw puzzles that you can work on. There are plenty of activities here to get involved in. As for dining, it is a standard fare for the food. Our executive chef has been here maybe a year, so he has made some nice changes to the menu. The food is acceptable.

We toured Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living. They kind of had a little bit better pricing on one of the apartments, which was nice. They showed us two rooms, one of the bigger ones and one of the smaller ones, both were laid out nicely and roomy. She showed us the studio and the one bedroom and they both were nice. The upkeep was excellent. The staff was nice, informative, and very professional.

I toured Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living. It was very regimented. I felt I was on the military inspection tour. It was newly remodeled or something. It definitely looked nice. I wasn't impressed with the size of the rooms, but it was neat and clean. No overall outstanding good or bad features, just run of the mill. It struck me as organized and fairly well taken care of. They offered both one-bedroom and studio apartments.

I went to Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living for my mom. It's an older building. It's overpriced as an older building is. I looked at the rooms and did the whole tour of the property. It was clean. They have a refrigerator and microwave. The staff was good.

I toured Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living. I liked the setup of the community. It was very well kept. It looked really like a nice place. It's very peaceful. They seemed to do a lot of activities there. The residents were very nice, and the staff were very nice, too. They have craft activities, a library, a spa, a hair salon, and all of that. However, when we were asking questions, they were unwilling to discuss any price points, which wasn't very helpful as far as making that an option for us. There's nothing too much that stands out, and it's not the friendliest place that I've been.

The food is cold, if you can even get service. Short staffed always!! Social services should be checking in on this place!

Wish the free Wi-Fi was better. Half the time you can’t use it. Parking is a challenge. Food has been an issue with revolving leadership in the kitchen. New person seems to be trying. So fingers crossed !

I am VERY pleased with the community and staff! My father loves it here. Everyone is so very helpful and caring. He views Cogir of Vacaville as his “home.” Now he has to transition to Assisted Care. All the staff continues to be very helpful and kind. If you need a community for your loved ones, this is the place!

My mother was a resident and has just moved due to failed health and needing extreme nursing care. I am so grateful to Cogir for their care and provision to the residents at the lovely facility. The activities, dining, assistance to various needs, environment, and staff have been a blessing. We are grateful and would not hesitate to make it my/our future residence when the time comes.

I toured Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living and met Sandra, our wonderful tour guide. She did such a great job. Both my daughter and I could feel a rapport with her. The place was in great condition. They just replaced the siding, so it looked brand new. I really liked the mature trees, the landscaping, the grounds, the space in the rooms, and everything. Their closet was as big as I have. They even have a coat closet, and a kitchen which got all I needed (a two burner stove and a refrigerator). Some rooms have alcoves, too. She showed us an older unit and another one that had been updated. They put wood flooring in, carpeting, and stainless steel branded appliances. If somebody leaves, they go in and update it. I liked that it had recessed lighting and a nice sized patio. They didn't have a pool, but that's no big deal for me. She explained that the residents used the recreation center in Vacaville. They also have a small performing arts center, which Sandra said they arranged trips to. Then there's a washer-dryer in the unit and weekly house cleaning service (cleaning your room and changing your linens). Later that day after we finished the tour and everything, I got a really nice email from Sandra thanking my daughter and I for coming by. To me, that was a nice touch. I didn't hear any appreciation and follow up from anybody else. All three meals were provided. The dining area was an open seating. They have a set time, so it's not like you can go to lunch whenever you want, but they have a grab and go section if you just want to go down and get something. Transportation is available. There's a 20-passenger bus and a 3-passenger van.

I went to look at Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living. I like this place. It is my top choice if it will work out. It seemed clean. The staff was great. I was impressed with it. The staff members were really helpful and knowledgeable. Even though this is taking way longer than I was hoping it would take, they keep reaching out to me just to follow up and see if there's anything they can do to help. So they've been great. I didn't try the food, but I saw pictures of it, and it looked really good. It looks like they keep people busy. The rooms are really big and have lots of storage. Everything was refurbished, so it was all like brand new. And they had a nice little patio area.

We went to look at Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living. We had a lovely experience. The staff took us around and showed us different rooms. She gave us all the information that we needed and a price list. She was very informative, showed us the activities, things that were in the facilities, and the dining room. The rooms were newly remodeled. They were painting in one of the rooms we were able to see. Everything looked clean. People were cleaning in the dining rooms. It's a really good experience. I think it's a nice place. They have outdoor spaces there. They all have patios. I like it because of the trees in the area. The staff said that was one of the reasons that kept them from having COVID there, that people had their own patios to go into. I saw a gentleman doing a puzzle in the hallway. They did have activities there. They had a store that you could shop in to get your little necessities without having to go out. The amenities are that they will take you anywhere that you want to go. They will take you to Walmart or the grocery store.

Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living was very well-maintained and very luxurious. The grounds, the staff, and the rooms were very nice. The dining area was also very luxurious, very large, very light, and airy. We only saw a couple of rooms, but we liked them. They have a bingo game, a craft shop, and exercise rooms. It's all level, so no hills or anything. So, that was very nice.

I like Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living because it is quiet, and the rooms are big and spacious. What I didn't like about it is, I'm 67, and I was informed that the average age of residents is like 70, 80. I'm not quite there. They had a kitchen, and I can't remember if they had a washer and dryer. I have seen the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments. The 2-bedroom was huge. But I don't want to use all my money, I don't want to spend $3900 on the place to stay. The staff was perfect. They had a courtyard and a sitting area.

Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living seemed like a really nice community. Of the three that I looked at, I think probably this one or the one in the Fairfield, I would choose to live in. I liked the apartments. They were more spacious and more homey. They have more room than some of the others. The grounds were maintained nicely. They had good walking areas and a little yard, so I liked the outside. They didn't have a swimming pool, but they did have a large community covered patio. I liked the outside of that development. I like the person that gave the tour. She was very patient and very knowledgeable. I liked her. They were in the middle of changing the floor and stuff like that. They had some carpets that they are pulling out. As soon as they're done with that, it will be better.

The staff at Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living are all wonderful. They all try to help you in any way they can. My sister is picky with her food, but she's been eating it and she enjoys it. She likes some of them, and some she doesn't like. They have entertainment once a week, and they have nighttime entertainment for about an hour. It's really nice. We enjoyed that too. We took her down there, and we listened. They had a band that played rock and roll music, and all the folks were dancing (for the ones that could walk). Several had their walkers, and it was really cute. They have that once a week, and tomorrow they're having a barbecue and music. We can join them at the barbecue or listen to music, so its very family orientated. They have bingo and all sorts of little things for them to do. They have a library. They've got a little store, where they sell stuff. They can to come in and buy little things, so it's nice. We really enjoyed it. The assisted living has a good price. She got a smaller unit with a living room herself. It has a kitchen, 1-bedroom, and bathroom with a shower. It's very nice, and every Friday they have house cleaning. You have to bring your own furniture because they don't furnish them.

Rooms are very nice, ample size. Staff is very supportive and communicates very well. We especially appreciate the kindness and community spirit as shown by the recent inclusion of family members when the CoVid vaccine was given at the facility. Knowing that such caring people are keeping an eye on my mother-in-law makes it so much easier for my husband to relax.

My mother has lived here since October 2019. She started in Independent Living until the need for her to move into the Assisted Living section June 2020. The staff went over and beyond to assist with the seamless transition. We are so happy with the attentive care mom receives on a daily basis. The staff demonstrates , compassion , patience, and genuine interests in her everyday needs. Most important is the follow up with her various medical needs. The beautiful setting , location ,and remodeled apartments were one of many reasons we choice Cogir Vacaville .

My mom has been living at the Cogir facility, first in independent and more recently in assisted living. There are three questions I ask myself to validate whether my mom is in the right place: is she safe, is she loved, is she known. The answer to all three is a definite YES! And, in addition to this, Assisted Living brings a welcomed level of discipline to her care (medications, health history, support) that I was unable to manage myself. Knowing my mom is at the right place has greatly reduced my own personal stress as well.

My mother has happily been living at happy living by COGIR Vacaville CA some 5 yrs. Being retired From the medical field , I know what excellent care is. They provide all individuals with the highest standard of care and professionalism. I have never been concerned for her care and other immenities They provide. The staff from every discipline To the well prepared food has been excellent. I must say the level of protection They provided the residents during this Covide 19 pandemic is with out a doubt superior Gold standard. Thank you, Richard B.

My mother moved in right before the pandemic lockdown. The staff did a good job keeping the residents safe. However, the food went from marginal to inedible. I have asked my mother to take pictures of the cold, unappealing, coagulated, grey food being served to her. We’ve had to buy a countertop convection oven, and have groceries delivered, so that she can eat. She has lost so much weight since she moved in. They won’t even provide a sandwich as an option, even though staff have told her that they would. This situation is disgraceful, and causing my mother to become depressed.

Our mother lived there until Feb. 2020. She was there for 4 years, and at 97 she was still doing well. Cogir worked with our family to keep her well cared for and independent for as long as humanly possible! We appreciate the very safe and very healthy home she had here and the kind care she received!!!

The best fit for my mom was the Vacaville Retirement Community. The staff was excellent. We went multiple times and she took a lot of time with us. We get to see all the facilities. We like that the units have patios and there are still good spaces. They have transportation and they have all the services. There are many options and there is versatility amongst independent versus dependent. I was impressed with it.

If you love your family member keep looking. Here are some of the issues in less than two months. *First night in respite care, as they sat my mom on bed, it collapsed. They hadn't connected the frame. *They never cleaned the patio--so many spider webs, she had large spider in bed. *Employee did not close catheter bag, and it leaked all over carpet all night. They had nothing to help absorb it and had housekeeping vacuum. Odor was terrible *after complaints they shampooed carpet making it so wet, she slipped. *final straw was a cockroach in her ear. When one employee went to take picture of it another stopped her. What are they hiding?

Brookdale Vacaville Leisure Town is where we are hoping to go. The staff was wonderful and the lady from marketing was the best. She calls me usually once a week to see how my husband is. It's affordable for us. The apartments were very nice, different sizes, very clean, and well kept. They offer rides to doctors' appointments and the usual shopping. The food was very good.

My son and I toured Brookdale Vacaville Leisure Town. I enjoyed it. I liked the place and the rooms. They're much larger and I'm thinking of going there. There were outside activities that I could do. They showed me four different apartments, which were very good. The staff told us everything that we wanted to know and she was very thorough. We were very happy when we left. The facility was very clean. I would go there in a minute.

Brookdale Vacaville Leisure Town was alright. They were friendly enough and tried to show me everything that I wanted to see, but I just thought that the staff where I am now is friendlier and more helpful. The residents there go on trips once in a while, and they also have a bus.

My tour of Brookdale of Vacaville was really good. The only drawback was that it was a lot more congested in that area. There wasn't a quiet, relaxed feeling about it, and we are trying to find something in a somewhat quaint neighborhood. I like the apartments and the food. They had a nice outdoor courtyard. We had a good lunch, and there was a selection from the menus. They had a lot of different types of activities going on. There were a lot of amenities nearby for shopping and things like that as well.

Brookdale Vacaville Leisure Town was nice, and the rooms were nice but extremely small. They had a dining hall, a little gym area, library, gaming room, and an outdoor area where they could do activities. They had a shuttle to take them places if they have appointments. It was fairly expensive. The staff was very nice.

Brookdale Vacaville is a great, wonderful place that's perfect for my dad. The staff seems great. He goes to eat every day, which is great, and walks around the place. He loves his room, which has an awesome view of the golf course. I wish they had reached out to him more and took it upon themselves to make sure he was shown around and follow through on their maintenance. They said they would repair some things and they have not. The staff is very welcoming.

I really like the size of the rooms at Brookdale in Vacaville California and I also like the people. The staff was friendly. I like the idea that they had dining services from 7Am to 7PM so to they weren’t set to a certain schedule, they have flexibility. I also liked that if they didn’t want to go to the dining room they could have food to their room as well. I didn’t have the opportunity to eat there but I saw what’s on the menu. They have activities and they also provide transportation to take you to events to the community. They were really good. They even came out and talk to my mother at the hospital before she was discharged. They followed up with me and they even talk to me. It was really good and very nice place.

The people at Brookdale Vacaville were very nice. They keep calling me and following up, and so I've been very pleased. One of the things that I liked was the patio or the deck. I prefer a ground floor, but the deck was upstairs. I've been to another one here in Vacaville that does not have that even though it's newer. I like having an outside space. The size of the room was good. Because it’s an older property, some of the bathrooms had a cut out tub rather than a roll-in shower, so that would be sort of an issue for us if we go and need to have the roll-in shower. The people were very friendly, very helpful, and seemed to be kind.

We put my father in Brookdale Vacaville Leisure Town for about a month and a half now. They make a lot of mistakes, but I think that is just human nature. He complains a lot about the food not being what he ordered. They keep delivering the wrong foods. He had to send it back and wait longer for the correct meal to come. He has an apartment, and we had a lot of problems with it too. The air conditioner was completely broken when we moved in. There were cockroaches coming out of the air conditioner and spiders all over the place. They did come in and treat it, but we should not have had to deal with it in the first place.

Emeritus was one of the places that we saw and approved of so far. The senior living arrangement was well thought out. The apartments had one or two bedrooms with nice floor plans. The grounds were very appealing. You had a feel of being rural even though you were in the city. They kept the ground very green. I also enjoyed the activities that they had for the seniors there. They presented a calendar of daily activities. I would recommend them. The staff was very welcoming.

I like that Emeritus has a campus-like setting and has a beautiful courtyard. I sampled a meal there, I liked the food as well as the snacks. They were not as expensive as the referrals I had here for Oakland and Burley. I only met with one of the directors who showed me around, so I didn’t get to see a lot of the staff. It’s a convenient location to me -- less than 5 minutes away -- and they gave me some reassurances that if it’s something the staff couldn’t handle I’m less than 5 minutes away from professional help. They showed me a calendar of the activities, the type of activities they have was for a different generation, most of the residents there are much older than I am. This area is for people over 55. They have balconies, patios, and I can walk through the community. If I want to go out of the room but not far, I can sit out at the patio or the deck. They allow pets which is a good thing, and some of the residents there have dogs they’re willing to share with other people.

My mom was at Emeritus at Leisure Town before. I liked it because they had a lot of activities, treated everybody really nicely, and it was clean and neat. In this particular one, you own your own home-like duplex, and then you could go into assisted living from there. They were wonderful, understanding, great cooks, and everybody helped all the time. The facility's swimming pool was neat and clean. They make sure that everybody who goes in there doesn't have any open sores.

I like Merrill Gardens a lot. I like that all the rooms had at least small patios. Even the studio apartments had small patios, which would help because mostly I like the outdoor space. I also like the way the dining room was set up. The facility was a tiny bit less expensive but then they have what they call an association fee and that was a big wallop - that's a big money! When they take your application, you have to come up with that amount of money, plus the first and last months' rents, so overall, it was expensive to move in there. The staff was not as well organized as the one in Davis. It was a very busy facility and there were a lot of people doing things. However, I just felt like maybe there weren't enough people in the front office and that's just the impression I got. In terms of activities, in one area, they had games like bingo, etc., and then in the lobby area, there was a pianist and there residents sitting around in a sing-a-long. They also have a bus for their residents going someplace.

Merrill Gardens is an independent living. My dad has dementia so we decided to transfer him to another facility that is more secure, but the facility is great. I ate there a couple of times with my dad and the food was fantastic. The people were really nice. My dad's room was always clean. I think they clean the rooms once a week. He can wash his own clothes, but they would wash his sheets and beddings.
