My mother-in-law has moved into Cogir of Turlock. Location is one of the main reasons why we chose them. The whole family lives in Turlock. And it's very, very nice. She has always wanted to go there if she had to, so we kind of kept that in mind. She loves it there. She feels like a queen, she said. The rooms are very nice and up-to-date. Everything is updated. She loves the food so far. She says it's great. The staff has been more than helpful. They're awesome. The way it is run, so far, so good. My sister-in-law has tried the food, and they said it's great. They've eaten there twice. My mother-in-law has participated in activities. They have made Mother's Day crowns for them for Mother's Day. They do a bus tour on Wednesdays, but she hasn't done that yet. She's trying to get acclimated. I think they're a little expensive, but that is what the going rate is. None of them were more than the others.

When I walked in at Cogir of Turlock, the atmosphere was so sweet and so kind. The people were just excellent. The director of maintenance, I think, was the one who gave me the tour. It was an excellent job. The rooms were immaculate. I saw exercising, I saw where we could go and sit if all of us came to see my sister and the game room. It was just beautiful. The dining room was gorgeous. They were putting up Christmas decorations and stuff, and it was nice.

I went to the Cogir of Turlock. It was very nice, but it's a little pricey. It was a very nice room, and they just had simple, but nice furnishings. You have to bring your own appliances, but they don't allow microwaves. So, you can bring a refrigerator. The staff was excellent. They have a courtyard, a patio, and a little garden area. It's wonderful.

I toured Cogir of Turlock but I didn't like that place at all. It smelled bad and they sprayed stuff around to cover the smells, but I'm allergic to all the sprays. They had the residents sit in front of the TV. They had an activities person who was planting plants, but that didn't seem like something that the people were interested in. I didn't appreciate the tour. I noticed someone had dropped some candy on the ground, and the staff said, "Oh yeah, people do that," and kept walking. Then she caught that that was an uncool decision, so she turned around and picked it up, but she should have done that on her own. She just wasn't paying attention and the people that were spraying things weren't paying attention as well. The facilities were very basic, very bare, stark, and dismal, and then all they had to do was watch TV. They didn't have any real engagement. I would rate the cleanliness low because I didn't like that. There's a lot of work going on there too, but that's normal, I just wasn't happy with much of any of it. They need to be more aware of the fact that they are people they're taking care of and not numbers on a page. They need to focus on the real people and what they need and what they can do.

We toured Cogir of Turlock for my mother, and it was beautiful. It was all on one floor, so we didn't have to worry about her falling down the stairs. That was a big plus. It was very nice, new, and had a good layout. The apartment was unfurnished. There was just a toilet, a shower, a small closet, and an outlet for a phone or a TV. They had a little courtyard. The staff who took us around was very professional and personable. I did notice that she didn't call anybody by name, so I wasn't sure if she interacted with the residents very much. But the tour itself was fine. She seemed to know what was going on, but I don't think she interacted with the residents very often.

Cogir of Turlock is a smaller community than the one my sister-in-law had looked at before. If she does decide to go there, that would be one of the reasons. It's not as large, and she felt more comfortable. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I never had a moment of discomfort with any of them. They've just changed hands, and we also did a tour before. It was very clean. They were upgrading some of the units. The restaurant was nicely decorated and very comfortable to be in. I don't have any hesitancy, and I'm hoping she doesn't either. So far, they worked out very well as far as helping us to get her interested in going there.

We toured, and we just found that it suited our needs and the level of care our mother needed, and it was clean. It was friendly, and it had different levels we found that would suit her better. It was very inclusive and caring. The staff is very friendly and very aware of what was going on in the facility. They were kind and familiar with everybody, and their individual needs. The place was clean, bright, comfortable for the residents, and safe. We saw the dining room, the beautiful outside areas, and the beauty shop. Some entertainments were going on while we were there. We saw the main family get-together room. We saw different things that were offered to the residents. We saw the menu and it looked nice. They offered what I would call a banquet room, and it was just a room that if you wanted to have a family gathering for your family member, for a birthday, or just to get together in a private little dining area where you could order food for the family. You could certainly come in and have lunch or dinner with the family member. They were very welcoming and accommodating, and it was just a great place for us. I'm sure other people would have other needs, but for us, it was the best. What we liked about it for her level of care was, of course, there's a bathroom in their little room, but there's no shower. We liked it because when someone has dementia as we find with my mom, she needs to be watched, so they had a place where they take them and shower them rather than just in their room on their own. The place is safe, it was accommodating, and it was just what we would want. Their food had nice variety and selection.

It is the place that, I feel, we will eventually bring my mother to live because it's very nice. The atmosphere was very good, and the staff seemed to be very professional. They have some very good programs that are very good for my mother.

It was very nice. The residents looked like they were enjoying themselves. They get three meals and four activities a day.

It is an assisted living, and they also have memory care. I would rate them a five with their care for the residents. Even the administrator gets involved in the daily living of the residents. They have a very caring staff. It is just a wonderful place. They have wonderful activities. They have lots of events also. Every week, they have a nice event, and they invite family members. They also have speakers who come in. At least once a week, they take their residents out. They take them to casinos and to open markets so that they can take them out shopping for foods. Some of the residents are very interested in community activities, so they make sure that they are involved in the community as much as possible. They have individual activities for their residents too.
