My mom moved into The Commons on Thornton. I like the airiness. It's dorm style. It's very spacious, clean, and nicely furnished. It looks very elegant as you walk through the glass doors. There's a dining area right to your right. There were no smells. And the most pleasing thing of it all was that the tenants all looked good. They were all dressed very nicely and looked happy. My mom is in memory care, and in that specific area, I liked the smallness and the staff. My mother has her own room. They call me for everything. They're very patient with my mom, who had a very difficult time the first three weeks. I just like the feeling that my mother will be okay if I leave her. The staff is very attentive. When I needed to find one, and when my mother needed assistance, there was always somebody I could find. I could always get my questions answered. They always addressed whatever problem I felt there was. I'm not impressed with their snacks and some of the food that I've tasted. Some of the patients there will just refuse the food. They have good soups and fruit salads. I've only seen a few activities, like exercise classes, some games, and some word questions. Sometimes, they sit them all around the big TV, and I'm not impressed with that. There have been times where my mother has required her assistance, and the head of memory care is willing to get down there and address them and do whatever it takes to make the residents comfortable. I like the ambiance in there. It is worth what I'm paying. I like that they have a beauty shop right there on the premises.

The Commons on Thornton was very nice. It seemed that they would be very attentive and work very well with my grandfather, but the negative was the cost. The tiers of memory care that they had would have been much more expensive in the long run as he progressed than I would have been able to afford for him. Since we're paying privately and we weren't getting any help from any other area, That was a reason for not going with that. The rooms were nice. They were roomy and they looked like they were something that would have been nice for my grandfather to be in had he stayed there. Everything looked very nice there. They were extremely kind and answered all my questions and they were one of the places that we considered. The facilities looked very clean and looked well-maintained.

My overall tour at The Commons on Thornton was excellent. The staff was very professional, very caring, very attentive, and answered all of our questions. They showed us the whole facility without any hesitation. It was very, very nice. They showed me empty rooms in memory care, you have to provide your own furniture, so by the time you get done fixing it up, it could be crowded. But there was plenty of room in terms of memory care, for a bed and a chair, it would be plenty in a room for somebody and you could also add a television set and they have internet available. The bathrooms were nice and the shower areas were nice, they had pretty much everything you needed for someone to be there. We were there during lunchtime and the food looked very good, smelled very good, and had a nice appearance. The people were eating and seemed to be enjoying the food. they have a calendar posted on the wall that showed the activities for the month or the day. They had singing, exercised, and played games, it was very nice.

The Commons on Thornton was our number one choice, but they didn't have skilled nursing. They were fantastic. The staff was wonderful. Their residents are very, very happy. The facility was very clean and very updated. The residents are excited to see people come and consider moving their loved ones there. The staff ratio to residents looked fantastic.

My mother-in-law lives in The Commons on Thornton and they were very accommodating during the check-in and move-in process. We were impressed with the different dining options they had set aside for the residents on either the assisted living side and the memory care side. The facility is not that old, and they're doing a good job of keeping it up to date. They were actually in the process of some renovations, installing new flooring and new carpet, and the room that we moved her into is very nice. I've seen one activity called a memory care snack time where they were reading through information cards and describing them, while my wife saw them doing singalongs the other day. Their calendar of activities is pretty comprehensive, along with an occasional drive out in the country for the residents. We're still in our first month, but in terms of the monthly charge for the stay, it is reasonable for the area that we live in.

My mother has lived at The Commons for almost two years. With the exception of the COVID lockdown period I have visited frequently. I have found all staff to be very polite, friendly, attentive, compassionate, and knowledgeable. The apartments are spacious, light, and well maintained. The common areas are very open and beautiful. Food is excellent, with a large variety to choose at each meal. Activities abound daily, from exercise classes to card games, bingo, movies, happy hours with music and much more. The Activities director and staff are incredible. I highly recommend The Commons to anyone looking for a senior living facility.

The Commons on Thornton was great. The director of sales was really pleasant, checked back with me a couple of times, and even checked with me after mom had to go to the hospital because she had pneumonia with the COVID. He checked to see how she was doing. I really liked the place. The room was clean, big, and light, had shower with the bars and everything, and my mom would be able to get in the shower. The dining room was clean and they gave you choices. They had two people at a table with plexiglass in between, so they were following the protocols. I've been there once before the COVID, and I thought they did a good job. If you wanted to have a relative or a friend come for a meal, you reserve it ahead of time, but they pay like $5 or whatever. A friend of my mom has eaten there a few times, and she said the food was really good and it looked good. You can order, and they give you like two entrees and some side. You can order exactly what you want, so it was very nice as far as the food. It's only a couple of miles from my house.

My sister was at The Commons on Thornton. Our experience was all good. The facility was laid out like the modern ones. It's more like being in a hospital. They had 80 people there that were just in one very large, nicely done area, but more clinical feeling. They played games, and they had crafts. They also had the assisted living, and on a music night, they would bring the memory care residents into the great, big hall.

The Commons on Thornton is a beautiful place. They have Bingo, a hairdressing salon, and multiple activities for them to do every day. The staff is great, very prompt, and very nice. The food looked okay, and I haven't heard my mother complain about it. She enjoys the activities. They're a little pricy though.

The Commons on Thornton was a newer community and it was really nice. The gentleman that took us around was really good and the place seemed fine. The place itself was new, clean, and very nice. Their dining area was also clean and very nice.

We toured the assisted living part of Commons on Thornton and I thought it was a very nice place. The dining area is all open, it's very nice, and the welcoming was wonderful (they had my name posted on the bulletin board). The lady I talked to was very nice, she showed us around the place, and the rooms were a bit small, but they were nice. We didn't eat, but the menu was designed such that you could pretty much have anything, and it's a very open menu. They have entertainment every day, from piano players, to magicians, and they were doing interactive things for people that needed memory help. They have a library, they have people playing dominos, or bridge, and it just seemed like an array of different things. It looked like it would suit any personality type. If you're more outgoing they have shuttles to nearby shopping centers and they have different excursions to go on. But my dad would probably not come out of his room, he's more of a loner. What I wasn't crazy about was the cost of giving medication. The cost goes up depending on the number of pills he takes. For example, if he takes 12 pills, the price is higher. I don't think the price should be any higher, and that was a turn off. My dad takes about 12 pills a day, so that's an extra $300. I thought that was ridiculous. However, it was very clean, very nice, and very upscale. It was immaculate.

The Commons on Thornton was recommended by my mother's physician. We liked everything with the exception of everything is far away from each other. Most of the rooms are upstairs, but she's in a wheelchair, and she's intimidated by the stairs. The staff was very good.

There's a lot of activities in The Commons on Thornton so the people won't feel lonely. There are lots of opportunities to interact and the meals are good and healthy. My mother only needs assisted living and the people there don't need a whole lot of care, which is good for my mother because that's also her level. The place is very nice, very social, and there's good company. It's also conveniently located. The rooms were nice, well-lit, and clean. It's a little far out, you have to take a bus or a shuttle to go places, but if someone's capable of walking, this would be a better choice, because it could make them a little more independent.

The Commons was very nice. They showed us a studio and 1 bedroom, and they were very nice. They have a library and nice amenities. The part that I didn’t like about that one was as you walked in the entry way, the dining room was right there; it was open to the entry way, and it was just a lot of noise and very confusing. The entry way had tables where people could visit, and the entrance had a desk for the receptionist. The dining room was totally open to that, so there was a lot of confusion, and that’s what kind of turned me against about because I am looking for a person that has hearing problems; I thought that would be destructing and very difficult for a person with hearing aids. The staff was very nice, and we saw a beauty shop. The person doing the tour wasn’t quite as informative and seemed to me not as knowledgeable; I never got a call back from her at all. She was nice, but I didn’t feel like the tour was good.

Me and my father had a tour at The Commons on Thornton, and the place seemed nice, but badly laid out. The staff who toured me was pleasant; overall, she was alright. We were able to eat there, and I was not thrilled with the food, although their dining area looked nice.

What we liked about The Commons on Thornton was that it was going to be more of a Carnival Cruise Line experience. When we walked in, it was not a place where people were put away but rather a place for them to enjoy. That's the feeling we got when we went into the memory care. They have two different dining places which was very nice for people in memory care. We saw them eating and the food looked beautifullybarranged, and they had people reading menus for residents, which was a very nice feature as well. The rooms were very pretty. They had a separate calendar of activities for the memory care facility as opposed to the assisted living, and I like that very much.

I believe that the front desk person is the one that makes or breaks a business. Yazmin, Denise, Thyphien and Michelle makes The Commons the best place! The Navone family is so very blessed because of these angles and many more!

The Commons on Thornton was nice for my mother-in-law. We liked it, but it was too big for our needs. The rooms were nice, but they had separate bathrooms. It was a nice, attractive place, but it wasn’t the one we chose.

The Commons was beautiful, homey, clean, and pleasant. They were in the midst of a musical activity when I went there, and had some crafts as well as some field trips planned. It was clearly well staffed. The neighborhood was beautiful. It would be a place anybody would be happy to live.

The Commons is very good, but the problem is it's too expensive. They have a movie theater and there is scheduled dancing. They have an activity worker that provides the activities for the elderly. I think all the staff is really good. They provide good service.
