I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Kindred Valley Gardens is a transitional care facility. My relative's experience was very good. It was clean, well-kept, and without odor. The staff was attentive. They had a great physical therapy department.

I recently was discharged from Valley Gardens after a 6 week stay for a knee replacement, and infection. I found Valley Gardens to be the cleanest Nuring Home I have ever seen, and the staff treated me with such respect. I want to thank all the therapists that helped me to be able to walk out on my own two feet, thank you all the Valley Gardens Angels......Barbara W. manteca, Ca

My mother came home from this facility without her medication bottles and ran out of meds which my father had to scramble to get Kaiser to fill. My mother also came back with bed sores on her tailbone/buttocks area that were far worse than what she came in with, a visiting nurse suggested we file a complaint and said it was one stage behind having bone exposed on her tailbone. I've taken photos of this several days ago. She also didn't have her catheter properly strapped down, it was left loose to tug on her catheter, this was also confirmed by her visiting nurse. My mother continuously complained of being ignored/neglected while at this care facility for the several weeks she was there. She also told some rather horrific accounts of mistreatment of an older lady named Glorieth (sp) across the hall from her that she overheard was disliked by the CNAs/nurse(s) and was starved, given excessive laxatives and made fun of her voice and harassed her for not having proper medical coverage. My mother also said she'd regularly hear CNAs on their phones having arguments with girlfriends/boyfriends and not coming around when she called/pushed the button to get assistance. She came home the first day with a very hoarse throat that she said was from straining to get a CNA/nurse to come to her room... Oh and the TV receptions here are awful, grainy and don't work right, you'd get a better reception from a space station on the other side of the moon...

I have had many different issues with my health which has presented me with many challanges one of which has always been finding a place to get quality care, Kindred Valley Gardens put me at ease as soon as I arrived. The staff is cutious and professional. The food isnt like going to a 5 star resturant but at times I could have been fooled, many of the meals were very appetizing and in a setting like such as a rehab building thats saying something! to put everything simply and the only comment I gave them during their satisfaction survey was, excellent!

    I am/was a resident of this facility

I came to Valley Gardens after a PEG tube placement. The facility itself is very clean and well kept. The staff treated me with dignity and respect which is becoming harder and harder to find these days. Once I started my rehabilitation program I very quickly realized that not only will I be able to eat on my own again but I will have a better life style when I return home! I cant show my appreciation any greater then posting this and saying thank you for giving me my life back!

I am appalled at the "medicare reviews". My 82 yr mentally challenged old Mom has been in transitional care for physical & occupational therapy. After being her 24/7 caregiver for two yrs & lodging complaints of neglect and physical abuse with 2 local hospitals....I THANK GOD for each staff member at Kindred Valley Gardens. She has been there for 24 days and I completely trust and cherish them for my being able to sleep soundly for the first time since Sept 2010!
