The person that gave us the tour of Friendship House did a lovely job. It just felt like it was much more advanced than what my dad needed. Most of the people that were there were completely non-functioning, so it just didn't feel like a good fit. The grounds were lovely, the rooms were very small, and the facility itself was just very small. My dad's looking for something with more activities, and Friendship House is not the place for somebody who still wants entertainment. I would say that the pictures on the website look nicer than it did in person. They have their own little dining area, which is small. It's a really higher level of care, and it didn't feel like a retirement community. It's a place for people who need lots of constant help. The grounds are lovely and maintained beautifully, with lots of flowers and foliage. It's nice and felt like a very protected, safe place, but again, just not what we were looking for.

I have used a day service called the Friendship House. I have left my wife there when I had something to do and it wasn’t practical for her to go with me. While she was there, she had her teeth cleaned and had a pedicures, and in one day she will stay for 5 hours. We are quite satisfied with it, the place seems to be well-organized, and we did not see anyone unduly sad. The services they provided were very good. The caregiver is quite competent, and it is very convenient as it is not too far away. What impressed me was it was a well-disciplined community, and they provide good services.
