I visited this facility

We went to look at Vista at Simi Valley. They supply meals, snacks, and complete care. It's expensive but affordable. The rooms satisfied all the needs of the residents. They offer tours to various places quite often. They have a separate dining room for guests, which they will serve meals to. They supplied lunch and a tour when we were there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister is currently at Vista at Simi Valley. I couldn't give them better reviews. The staff is amazing. Everybody that works there is amazing. The environment is spot on clean. They have a lot of activities. It's a smaller place, it's more like 80 or something like that. They have a nice little movie theater, a little gym, a hair salon, and an arts and crafts room. They do a lot of trips and everything. It's just an amazing place. I just absolutely love it. I would recommend it highly to anybody, and it's probably on the lower expense versus some of the other places that I've gone to. The staff members are very loving to the patients. The medical team has pretty much saved my sister's life twice, because they recognized she was having symptoms where we needed to call 911 both times. One when she was having heart issues, and one when she was having kidney failure, so they were right on top of that. They're just loving. I see them hug them, they know everybody at the facility, and they're just very caring.

The staff atVista at Simi Valley were all very helpful, respectful, smiling, and friendly. The facilities were all very nice. If you want certain things, you have to pay extra for them. Like meal delivery to your room is $13 a day. If you want to be reminded of your medications, it's $15 a day. The laundry service is $26. They also provide housekeeping and give you baths. They have a gym, a salon, and areas outside where people can go sit or walk around. They had a little movie theater with movie theater chairs, too.

Vista at Simi Valley has been transformed. My friend's mother has lived there for several months and she is raving about the place. She tells me that, since new management took over several months ago, the care is superb, food is great, activities plentiful. Apparently, better than ever. I've stopped by there several times and always received a gracious welcome from their staff. Sat in the new living room and looked at the models, which are beautiful. A+ rating in every way.

I visited this facility

We visited Vista at Simi Valley. We looked at their memory care and it was very good. We were shown several possible rooms. All the staff members that I observed or met seemed to be happy in their jobs. I didn't sense any underlying, negative attitude or anything. The residents that I was able to see all seemed happy to be there. It was clean too. They answered all our questions. I did not try their food but they sent food home with my friend and he enjoyed that.

I visited this facility

I toured Vista at Simi Valley. It was very nice, and the people were very helpful. It seems almost like a high-end hotel with memory care. It's very clean and very nice. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. When I was there, they were karaoke singing. There was a group singing karaoke and having a blast when I was there. The rooms were very nice, clean, and roomy.

Vista at Simi Valley is a casual place. It's brand new, very clean and set up nice. It's not a massive complex, so it's not overwhelming with people, which is what I liked. The workers are all very nice and very friendly. So far, I haven't had any communication issues with them, because we're still learning about them and they're learning about us and dad, but they're all working hard to make the transition nice and simple for him. I have seen the food, and my dad said it's very good. The other day, they had a gentleman come in who sang for them, which was very interesting. Some of the residents were dancing with some of the workers a little bit. They also do bingo and other activities. Then they have a mini gym, a salon for getting haircuts, and my dad's physical therapist has been going a couple of times a week and has been working with him throughout the complex. I also know they're having brunch for Thanksgiving. So, everything's been nice. I think it's the best value out of all the places we looked at.

I visited this facility

We have toured the memory care facility at Vista at Simi Valley. I liked working with the staff who assisted me, talking with her, and meeting with her. I love the facility, the cleanliness, and the newness of it. I love the way they interact with the patients. I like the room size. It was a really good experience to kind of get a barometer of what to look for in a caring community like that. I liked that it was small, and there were like 40 people or less. In the memory care section, there was a better ratio of care. I like the way they set up the memory care section. The dining area was clean.

My mother has moved into Vista at Simi Valley. It's a beautiful, fairly new building. It's very beautifully decorated and very welcoming with very bright colors. It's kept very clean. It's not too big; you don't feel lost by any means. It's very pretty. The staff members are very welcoming, very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. My very picky mother, has been very satisfied with the food. There is plenty of food, there is a good variety, and they give you snacks throughout the day. At mealtime, you can ask for substitutes if you don't like the offering of the day, so you never go hungry. She has participated in playing bingo and she has watched movies. She participates in the afternoon social, which varies between things like root beer floats or cookies and lemonade. Each day it's something different. The second day she was living there, she took advantage of the beauty shop and got her hair cut, and the third day she got her nails done, so she has taken advantage of the amenities. The staff members are very nice, very concerned, and willing to do anything to help. The facility is beautifully decorated and it's uplifting. The colors and the modern furniture that they use have a very light uplifting to the whole place. Everything is very clean. They are willing to go the extra mile to make you comfortable, to help you feel at home, and to customize what you're getting. I'm very pleased.
