Brookdale Ocean House is very nice. The rooms are clean and airy. The staff is excellent. It's very nice. The care people are good. I have only been here for two months, but I would rate them high. It's just very pleasant to live here. Well, right now, they're just getting over COVID, so there aren't too many activities. Food is OK. I think the value of money is fair. I like the room that I'm in and I like the staff.

The power-of-attorney agreed that my friend could go to Brookdale Ocean House, and she will be transferred there. We were shown the independent and assisted living. She is going to have total 24-hour care. We were met by the receptionist. She was very helpful and connected us to the manager of the building. We saw the dining area, the menus, and the library. We went up and were shown various accommodations that were available. All of them had some kind of ocean view. There were big sliding door balcony windows, a small balcony, and a well-equipped and well-appointed bathroom. Each unit had a small fridge/freezer and a microwave in it. There was a really good bathroom, which was adequate and will take a wheelchair. Based on some of the others that I saw, their upkeep was like a 10. They had an onsite movie room and an onsite gym for the physical therapist (and anyone who wants to do yoga). They had a bus service that takes them to the shopping mall in Santa Monica, to their doctors' appointments within a 10-mile radius, and outings. They had in-house activities, like bingo and that type of thing. Right on the very top, they had a roof garden with hummingbirds and a wonderful view of the ocean. I met housekeeping and the nursing staff, and they were excellent. People could go and eat any time they wanted. Nobody was sitting at the dining room table because of the time we went. The menu was excellent. They had three meals a day. They could either take those meals in their room or in the dining area. There were options as well if you want a snack or something extra. There was a chef, who is onsite all the time apparently. The place was clean, tidy, and very modern.

We really liked Brookdale Santa Monica, but it was expensive. They gave us some really nice cookies when we left. The staff member was very friendly and was nice enough when we realized that this was way outside my mother's price range. She printed out information about other places that my mom could check in to. They didn't have a designated smoking area and that wouldn't work for my mom. The building was quite nice with nice furnishings in the entryway. She took us first up to the top floor where they have their outdoor patio and their activity areas. The atmosphere was very nice. They had a chapel, church services, a theater, and a dining room, which was really nice.

I am in independent living at Ocean House (Brookdale Santa Monica). My feelings are favorable and I like it here. I chose it because I like the location of it overlooking Santa Monica Bay and Santa Monica mountain. I'm up on the 7th floor which is high up to get a view of things. The atmosphere is more upbeat than some other place and seemed to have fewer rules and such. They're quite flexible as far as eating goes and we have a French chef now.

My uncle is living in Brookdale Santa Monica. He likes the food and says it's very good. I like the idea that he is somewhere safe and that it's close by, so when he needs anything, it's easy for me to respond. They do scenic tours and take them out occasionally for a meal at a restaurant. They bring in music and other performers, lectures, brain exercise classes, and sometimes they have little socials and parties. They have a decent number of activities and serve three meals a day.

Brookdale Santa Monica was a very nice place, located in a nice part of the town, and not too far from the beach. It was a very attractive place to stay. I was very impressed with it. The staff was quite good and seemed to know their job very well. There were nice places to walk around and there's a shopping place not far away. Their activities were very good where they get a lot of inputs from their residents.

We visited Brookdale Santa Monica. It was lovely and right near the beach. The rooms were adequate although they were not the best we’ve seen because they don’t have a kitchen built in. They do have different activities, like happy hour, a computer center, and scenic drives. The person who gave me the tour was lovely. I would recommend this place, but they need to update their rooms.

Brookdale Santa Monica was really nice and had all of apartments in one building. One of the staff member was nice but wasn’t quite enthusiastic. The dining facility was on the first floor and looked like it was well run. I saw a one-bedrooom apartment that looked sort of standard with a bed and a few cabinets.

We really liked Brookdale Santa Monica. The environment, the rooms, and the staff were all terrific. The rooms were very nice; the nicest we've ever seen, in fact. They were spacious with beautiful views and floor-to-ceiling windows. They were lovely. It is the only facility we have visited that has a dining room open all day.

My parent is in Brookdale Santa Monica, and it seems to be a good fit for what we are looking for. It is in a good location, and the amenities are the kinds of things that we are looking for. All of the staff has been very nice. The apartment is nice, and everyone is happy with it. We try the food, and mom thinks it is OK. They have options for her, which is really good, and there's an option with anyone who wants to eat with them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's not like an extraordinary menu by any means, but it's edible. We chose it because it is short term. We want something short term to try out, and there is no deposit, so that is also a bonus. Its location is amazing for us because it's very close to where we live so that's great. However, I think the food can be better. Like I say it is edible, but it is not anything to get excited about.

Brookdale Santa Monica was a beautiful place, but a little expensive. It had more of an organization with a little more formula in what they do with the people than just the room they put you in. It was more like a dormitory from a housing point of view. They're exceptional in their activities.

I think the Ocean house has a beautiful view of Santa Monica pier, the ocean and the beach and everything. It seemed very clean and nice, and they seemed to be good to the patients. It seemed to have more than the other places and the people I had contact with seemed nice.

What I love about Ocean House are the views and that the rooms are large. The community room is gorgeous. It has a library, books, and a view of the ocean. There are balconies off the rooms and in the rooms; it’s like one wall with glass looking out on the ocean. It is gorgeous. The lady who took me around was very knowledgeable, very nice, very interested in my mom and dad. Everyone we encountered, from the receptionist to the staff, was friendly and nice. Even the people who lived there came up and were talking to me, and everybody was smiling. It was just very nice.

My parents are in Ocean House. It is the best place. They are very sweet, kind and they really love my parents. They take good care of them. They have been there two or three months now and they really enjoy it. It has the view of the Pacific and it's like you're in Hawaii.
