My mom is at Villa Serena Retirement. They have very nice grounds and a big pond. She has a studio apartment with an alcove, which appears to be very comfortable for her. The building is a little old and slightly dated. They painted it recently. It has a fairly nice clubhouse and a nice dining facility. My main criticism is that the food there does not look very good to me. I've eaten it on occasion, and I don't think it's very good. They end up throwing away a lot of food because they're giving them these big portions that old people can't eat. The rent in that particular area is pretty reasonable though. The staff seems to be on top of things except the food service. They've replaced the carpeting in the hallways and painted the inside and the outside. My mom's place has a little kitchenette in it, and it is sort of very 1970s-looking. Regarding activities, they had a luau that I went to. They had family Fourth of July picnics and Memorial Day, and those were good.

My dad has been at Villa Serena Retirement for a few weeks now. It is affordable, and it's a smaller community. It is just a nice place. His room is a fairly good size for a studio. Many of the staff have been there for a couple of decades, so there is not a lot of turnover. They have a beautiful pond and fountain. The outdoor area is very lovely. They have 3 different chefs, and they serve very good food. They offer a la carte, if you don't want what is on the menu. One thing everybody says is the food is really great there. I personally don't think it's fabulous, but I think it's pretty good.

Everything is good at Villa Serena Retirement. I went there, and I looked at the facility. It has a lot of stuff. There's a park, and they even have a very nice dining room. Everybody there was very nice. I think they're very nearby a lot of Asian markets, so that was the reason I chose that place to visit. I visited a room, and it was nice. Everyone who moves in is provided an emergency necklace. Even though they're living there, if there's anything they suspect, somebody will be there for them. They provide meals there, three times a day. If you don't feel good, all you have to do is call them and they will deliver the food to your room. Everything's okay, but my parents didn't choose the place because they said it is a little far from the outside. There's a long aisle that they have to walk. My parents don't like to walk too much; they're not very good at it. Also when they walked in, the aisle was too small. My parents are pretty big.

We visited Villa Serena Retirement Community and we have joined their meal time because our friend lives there. They have an outdoor area and you can walk around a pond. They have a Ping-Pong table, a croquet place, and so on. They have about a hundred people living there, and I noticed that the people are kind of happy there. The rooms are decent. They're fairly old, but they're remodeled every time they change tenants. My sister would probably move there and not any other senior community.

I have lived at Villa Serena for 4 ½ years. The grounds are lovely, the staff is very nice, I really like where I live. You can get three meals a day while having somebody to eat with in the dining room. We have activities daily. On the weekends, we have two movies. We have a bus that will drive you to the doctor’s appointments or shopping. I recommend Villa Serena.

I really like Villa Serena. It's very beautiful. It has great looking grounds and nice sized units. They had a lot of clubs. I like their grounds, it's very much like a park, it's beautiful. It's certainly nice and clean, but it's a little bit rundown because it's older. The staff I interacted with were very nice.

The people who took us around Villa Serena were really nice. We toured around the place and saw that the apartments were nice. We also went to their cafeteria, and their menu looked good. Their grounds were really nice to walk, and they had an area for dogs.

Villa Serena is a very caring place. They have wonderful people. The place smells fine. The food seems wonderful. I like it. The apartments are very nice with one bedroom. They have a list of activities daily, and they try to encourage everybody to be active. My mom has been there for two months now.

One of the managers of Villa Serena who gave us the tour was very polite, helpful, and answered lots of questions for us. The grounds were very inviting, nice-looking, and clean. The room we saw would be very comfortable for my husband and myself. They had exercise, crafts, and outings.

I visited Villa Serena one time. It’s nice, sunny, clean, and very orderly. My friend is very happy there. He has a 1-bedroom with a living room area and a kitchen. He doesn’t really eat with them all the time, but he seems to like it. The people were wonderful and friendly to him.

My aunt is at Villa Serena, and she likes it very much. It is very quiet and very peaceful. The people seem to like it. The grounds are very clean and include a pond and a lot of trees where they can relax and just enjoy themselves. Their meals are prepared for them by one of the best chefs that I have seen. I've had lunch there a couple of times with my aunt, and the meals are great. They have great breakfasts, great lunches, and great dinners. The location is great. They offer bus transportation within 10 miles, so if someone does not have family members or a person to give them a ride, the Villa Serena will offer them a ride. It is a great little place. The cost is affordable, and it is really nice.

Mom is very happy at Villa Serena. We just moved her in there last February. The residents are really good, and the people who manage the community are really attentive to everybody there. It’s an older place, but the actual rooms are really big. The food is very good. The activities director is really energetic and always tries to motivate people.

I wasn't that impressed with Villa Serena. It was more of a managed apartment complex with staff on-site 24/7. It appeared like an old apartment complex, which is not as convenient for an elderly person needing assistance. The common dining room was fairly functional, not great or terribly inviting, but probably did the trick. As far as social programs, it was minimal.

I have been a resident at Villa Serena for 2 years now. I enjoy the lovely garden and was impressed with the apartments compared to the others I toured when I was first looking for a new home. The housekeeping staff is exceptional and the kitchen staff is friendly and attentive. I was also very please to find a home that accepted pets because I have a large cat that I could not part with. The other residents are friendly and I feel at home here.

Manager could not understand his accent. Dirty building. Rundown. Falsely advertised as assisted living.

The rooms at Villa Serena were actually apartments, and they were roomier than here; very nice. There were around 12 or 14 apartments in the building, and there were 6 buildings, really nicely landscaped. Everybody had either a small garden or a patio, and they were very nice. I was concerned because the buildings were apart but the dining room and all the activities were in one building, and so you'd have to go outside of your building and be around the little wings, and I am not really good on my feet so I was concerned about rain.

Villa Serena it was really nice. It was a great facility too. But the set-up was really different. It was more like an apartment complex where there were separate buildings with a common eating area.

I liked Villa Serena because the people were more friendly and the neighbors were nice. The apartments were better. The restaurant was very nice. They had two chefs serving the main course, which were very good.

Villa Serena has lovely grounds, and that mattered to us a lot. It's so beautiful here. There are six buildings that's stretched out the length of the lot. Alongside of them there are beautifully decorated, manicured grounds that go the whole length of the lot. You don't have to step onto the sidewalk to do anything. We can walk around and take our little dogs for walks. They're very, very pet friendly and they're building a little dog park in the back. I think the staff are excellent. They are very kind and very friendly. There are a lot of young, sweet people working in the dining room and doing the housekeeping. They are interested, caring, cheerful and friendly. It makes it a pleasure to be here.

What I really liked about the Villa Serena was their larger one-bedroom apartment, which was a little under 800 sq ft., and 1/3 bigger than the usual. That was really a big plus for me. They had a different kind of layout, which was more casual and the price was good. The meals were fine too.
