The therapists at Mission View Health Center were very good, and the aides were very helpful. The staff was very attentive and treated us well. One of my therapists downloaded some apps for me, like puzzles to work on my memory and cognitive skills. Some days, the food was very good, but other days, it was fair. The nice thing was that you can request certain things. I talked to the nutritionist and told her how I missed yogurt, so right away, she sent me yogurt and had it in every meal since then. They fed you regularly right on time. They had two different outdoor areas, and I usually went to the smaller one because it was right off of my room. It had a small garden and a little koi pond. It looked very pleasant, especially at sunset.

I'm not reviewing the care there, as I am aware the personal care for my loved one is exemplary. But I AM reviewing first impression of one particular staff member when making inquiry about visiting my loved one and Covid 19 protocols during visitation. An operator/nurse who answered the call (named Cindy) interrupted throughout most of the conversation, was extremely rude and did not show a very kind attitude overall during the entire phone call. At the completion of the call, I had said "thank you very much". I then heard her say "You're welcome" but before the call was disconnected, I heard her say "Aiy yi yi" and she proceeded to complain to her coworker before the call ended. It was completely unprofessional and offensive being treated this way as a family member of a long term care resident. My suggestion to the facility (or at least to Cindy's supervisor and Cindy herself) is to implement more training to improve telephone etiquette and maintain a kinder and more proper tone towards family members of loved ones residing there.

My husband is in rehab at Mission View Health Center. It's clean. I think it's as safe as they can make it, and that's important. It is pretty outside, but it's very plain inside and kind of depressing. The colors that they have on the walls are calming. It's basic, plain, and an old nursing facility. I've overheard the staff be arrogant towards patients that aren't able to express their needs. They will also be very loud and laugh together while some people are trying to sleep or if the patients have to sit right across from them; it can be insensitive. It's a loud setup to begin with because it's an older facility; the noise echoes. As far as the staff, I would say overall that they're personable. I think their food is quite good. They're meeting the needs, and you can talk to the dietitian whenever you want. They have bingo and arts/crafts. They have several nice courtyards where you can go outside and visit. They could make it easier for the residents to go through the screening process and not be so rigid with visitors. An example of that is (technically speaking) each person is allowed one visit per resident, and the visit is supposed to be limited to 30 minutes a day. I realize it's a rehab that we're in right now, but I would like to see somebody reminding them to do their exercises.

My husband is in Mission View Health Center. That facility has been shut down for three weeks. They just opened it up the day before yesterday. All the families are trying to get in there at the same time, so I cannot get in to see him until May 19. I've been calling him three times a day, and I talk to him on the phone. I went down yesterday and stood outside the window. We both had phones, and we talked for about 15 to 20 minutes. I appreciate their concern about COVID; I'm not complaining about that. I just wish I could get in a little before May 19th. The staff have been very helpful, with the exception of being able to talk to his doctor there. I'm a little frustrated about not being able to talk to anybody in charge. His nurse is very good. He has a male nurse by the name of Saul. He's been the most helpful of anybody. He's not having any trouble with the food. He said it's fine. They have someone helping him because he's basically blind. He's only been there for three days.
