We chose The Ivy at Golden Gate for my husband because of the location to our home and I was very pleased with the tour of the facility. I like the staff's attentiveness to the residents and consistency of attention. The chef prepares very good meals. They are nutritionally balanced and the presentation is excellent. They have different meetings, outings if the resident chooses, meetings of the residents, and recognition of special birthdays. They just had a special recognition for anyone who turned 90 or 100 this year, and it was beautifully done. It was very, very nice. The facility is beautiful. You're getting what you pay for.

I toured the Ivy at Golden Gate. They had bingo and arts and crafts. It was a guided tour, and the staff was excellent. He was very good, nice, and thorough. He offered for us to eat there if we wanted to, but we declined because it felt awkward. But at least it was offered. The food looked wonderful.

The Ivy at Golden Gate was very welcoming. I liked its cleanliness, brightness, and the atmosphere. The activities director was our guide, which was fine, but she was not able to answer more detailed pricing information. But she was personable, accommodating, and professional. I was very impressed with how she handled me. I was told they have about 100 staff there and that they have a lot of staff members that have been there 20 years. If a person moves into independent living and would require more care, he could stay in the same room. And that's one thing I liked about this facility. They incorporated residents' feedback and requests as they developed their activity list. They had the whole month published and it encompassed a lot of different interests. They had a separate men's group that did some really neat things geared towards men's interests. They had a store that was run by the residents that could help provide fun things and common daily basic needs. They had a resident board that could interact between the residents and administration as a voice. So, I felt like it was a really strong community and good interaction between residents and staff.

The Ivy at Golden Gate was very nice. They had a lot of activities, including outings. The menu that I saw looked very good. The staff who gave me the tour was very good. The rooms looked OK. They had a lot of parking space. You could take your relative out anytime you want. You could have dinner or lunch with them in the facility. They even have private dining rooms where you can have the family come in for a birthday or something where you're secluded.

I know somebody that stays here. They're pretty good. They have the standard assisted living amenities, and their activities are pretty good. They have entertainment, and they have a really nice lobby. Sometimes they have people playing classical music on the piano, and they serve you snacks. The residents seem to enjoy looking at the performances. The staff is pretty friendly, at least to me. You don't feel like you're in an assisted living facility. It's very clean, very modern, and very nice.

It was very nice, excellent, and fabulous. I really liked this one. However, I don’t own a car, so being out on 19th Avenue, even with a driver, would feel very isolated. It was a lovely place, and I know people there. If I had a driver or if I drove, I might consider it. I was very impressed with the place.

I visited and I think the facility was really clean and very big; however, there wasn't too much outdoor area for my father to walk around in. The staff was very personable and very friendly. They just need a little outdoor space.

We went here, and my sister and I liked that one quite a bit but my mother thought it was too large. We thought the activities are good, and the dining room was really nice; it was twice the size of the one in the other facility. I think that was a nice apartment.

It was wonderful. I thought it was really lovely. I would love for my mother to stay there. The person who took me on a tour was lovely and very accommodating. I was very impressed with the look of the place. I liked how beautiful it was. There were people in the lobby with someone, I thought from the rescue foundation, because there was a dog, and they were enjoying that. It just had a really good feel about it. There was a very good sized one-bedroom apartment, and it was very lovely. It was something I wouldn't expect an assisted living place to be that nice. It looked like they had a lot of good stuff going on.

The environment is very clean and very bright. The rooms are quite nice and lots of them are quite roomy. They have ventilation and they have a lot of light, so that was nice. The staff is good and the dementia care unit has dedicated caregivers who are trained in dementia care. They have programs as well as living accommodations particular to people with dementia. They also have physical therapy, a lot of beautiful outside grounds, and they have the regular tours. They have a very nice dining facility, one for the general residents and then another for the dementia care residents.

It was a great place but the apartments were a little bit smaller than what my mother was looking for. It has a great location, beautiful building and nice people. We had dinner and they have a live band and good food. They have a very good mix of people from all over and it's very "San Francisco".

I visited and the place is very nice. The people are very friendly. I saw their workout room and that didn't impress me.
