Upside is that I'm eating healthy and downside is that I'm gaining weight because the food is so fabulous and beautifully served. My favorite dish is a full plate of anything the Chef serves. From their servers to their Director the service is impeccable. The food here makes everyone happy and everyone wants to be together at meals to socialize.

Staff here at Coterie is consistently helpful and professional. It is clear to us that they are all well trained. if a staff member is not able to provide assistance for a function/problem, he/she will immediately locate someone, and I am very impressed with that. Coterie actively encourages ongoing feedback, whether on the spot or at meetings. Restaurant Menu should not be the same for three months in a row. That can get old quite fast. The cuisine might include authentic Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc., The Fitness programme is superb. The multi-talented trainers obviously hail from impressive, diverse backgrounds. The same trainer can employ movements, eg. from Martial Arts, Yoga, Mindfulness Practice, Dance, Qigong etc.

I have had family living at Coterie since June 2024, and can confidently say it is one of most exceptional assisted living facilities in the SF Bay Area. This was confirmed by research and in consultation with our UCSF physicians. From the moment my family arrived, the staff impressed with their genuine kindness and professionalism. They greet every resident by name and made my family feel welcome with a lovely celebration upon move in. Their commitment to care is evident, particularly in their ability to provide personalized support for complex needs, including 24/7 insulin management, which is a rarity in assisted living. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, we develop a tailored care plan that evolves as my loved one’s highly complex needs change. The Director is responsive and compassionate, ensuring we receive the right amount of support. I’ve learned the importance of being open about our needs and allowing the initial time for the staff to get to know my loved one. Their dedication to getting it right is impressive. The concierge team is also outstanding, always available to assist residents in navigating the facility and managing their daily lives. This support makes a significant difference in the overall experience. Another noteworthy benefit is the complimentary membership to an urgent care facility located in the same building. This convenience allows for quick access to expert care without the stress of an ER visit. Plus, the proximity to CPMC hospital ensures that more extensive medical needs are easily addressed, while the Coterie campus remains serene. Overall, choosing Coterie for assisted living is undoubtedly one of the best decisions we have made. The combination of exceptional staff, personalized care, and convenient medical access made it a top choice for us as it has for other families seeking a supportive, nurturing and safe environment for their loved one.

A Grateful Sister

Coterie Cathedral Hill Memory Care was the perfect place for my sister. My highest praise goes to the director Christina and to each member of the staff for their skillful and competent care for each resident as an individual. Daily I observed how much they truly cared for not only the residents but also their families. My family and I learned to understand better what was happening with my sister who was diagnosed with dementia and learned how to better respond to her. Monthly support group provided helpful advice and experience sharing. Daily activities were carefully planned to be fun, engaging and appropriate. Meals were delicious and inviting. I will always be grateful to everyone at Coterie Memory Care for making my sister happy and most of all for making her feel at home..

The memory care at Coterie is incredible. Christina’s team is well trained and all so loving and caring to their residents. My mom has lived under their care for the past year, and it has been so helpful to have support during this challenging time of her memory decline. Not only are the caregivers, med techs, and nurses amazing, but also the organization of activities and amenities are well planned. My mom always has lots of opportunities to enjoy music, create flower arrangements, or even practice tai chi. She has been really happy living at Coterie. We are so thankful we found a safe and loving home for my mom.

My experience with the care and facilities at Coterie has been excellent. My mother moved to the memory care floor at Coterie after a brief time in assisted living. My family had been struggling to find the right level of care for her. Coterie has been incredibly flexible and nurturing in their daily support for her. I am especially thankful for the staff’s efforts to keep my mother connected with our family, her friends, and the rest of the world outside of memory care.
