My husband moved to Ivy Park at Salinas. The aides are all very caring and wonderful. I like them all very, very much. I wish they would integrate assisted living with memory care to have a better balance of one's level of dementia. So, I'm thinking of transferring him to another facility because I want him to be around more lively people. They're doing a very good job. I know that he is safe and that's very important to be safe. I wish they had overhead-mounted showers. They're really new and just getting started. I think they're trying. The staff is wonderful. They're quite good, and that's important. The food is good. They've treated me when I've been there, so I have no problems with the food whatsoever. The facility is very lovely and very clean. I do see all the patients out of their rooms. They have a monthly schedule and a daily schedule, it's posted when you go in. He says he's bored, but that might just be his complaint and not their fault. As for the value, that's kind of an issue because these facilities are extraordinarily expensive.

My mother will be moving into Ivy Park at Salinas. We don't know the community yet, but we liked everything we saw about it. We went to lunch there and the food was really good, which was my mother's main complaint where she is. The rooms were bigger. It's a little more expensive. It's a pretty place. They had very friendly staff. They have a chef that's well trained. Everything looked clean. It felt good. The atmosphere was good. There's a lot of people. It's a bigger place than where she is at now, and there were different people to talk to. The dining area was beautiful. Everything looked professionally set up. They have tablecloths and cloth napkins and that kind of thing. The bedroom and the living room are bigger. She's going to be on the second floor, so she has a balcony.

We loved Ivy Park at Salinas. It was very well run and maintained, but I think the size of it would make it easy for some people to kind of get lost in the big crowd. It was nice for a retirement community, but it was too big for what we wanted. The room had a little kitchenette and a refrigerator. The staff who gave us the tour was friendly, and very informative, answered all the questions, and followed up with us.

My mom is over at Ivy Park at Salinas. It looks well taken care of from the exterior and the main interior lobby, and I'll score it pretty high on the aesthetics. In the lobby outside that I was talking about, everything looks clean, painted, fresh, and maintained properly. There are no spiderwebs, cracking stucco or wood, rotten wood fencing, or anything like that, it all looks nice. The rooms don't score quite as high, they're not as quality-maintained as the exterior and lobby. My mom has dementia with a touch of Alzheimer's and she's quite the character. After the event that happened last weekend and the way that the staff reacted, I don't think they're trained as well as I would like, for them to be working with dementia patients. They have a nice event schedule and they're about the only one we toured who stays on it. They have live singers and bands, they have group shows playing in their meeting area or auditorium, and there are always a lot of people out watching the events because they do what they're scheduled to do. The residents are well-informed and they participate. There's a big difference between what's in assisted living and what's in memory care. The dining area for assisted living had nice tables and chairs, they're carpeted, have napkins out and menus, and there's a lot of elegance. It looks very attractive. But for memory care, you can't really do all of that. I haven't sampled the food yet but I've been there when my mom's eating, and everything looks fresh, they put lettuce and tomatoes in their sandwiches and burgers, and it looks like a chef would prepare it. So everything's done very nicely. They have really good staffing levels, they try to connect with the residents and they're doing a really good job with that. But I don't think they have the experience and training that they need to be more efficient in their job.

I've toured Ivy Park at Salinas, it seems to be much more organized than the other place I saw. Lunch was over when I got there, and the memory care people who were in the common areas were having refreshments. They were having a movie time but they were all in one area, nobody was walking around and everybody was there. They had a lot of staff members that I could see and I think they're amazing. The only thing I have with them is that their rooms were so small, even their larger room was small. It's the care and the way the people were that made it so nice. I saw the menu and it looks pretty good. The facility was wonderful, it looked beautiful, and even I would live there someday. It was like a magazine aesthetic. I also saw the listed activities that they had for memory care.

Ivy Park at Salinas was very nice. The one-bedroom was very large, but it was out of my mother-in-law's price range. Everybody was very friendly and seemed to be very helpful to their residents. They were finishing up lunch when we visited, and the meal looked nice. They seemed to have an active calendar of activities. The dining area was very nice and very clean. Everything was clean. They had a very nice outdoor patio and a nice little walking area. They had an exercise room, a beauty shop, and transportation. The facility seemed to be very well maintained and very welcoming. They had a welcome sign there for us that was personalized, and they give you a little box with the most delicious chocolate chip cookies when you leave. It was a very nice touch.

The tour I had at Ivy Park at Salinas was very professional. The rooms were large. Most of them consisted of a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen. All the rooms had either balconies or patios. The grounds were very nice. The dining area was nice, too. I saw a reading room, a game room, and a beauty salon. It was a lot better facility than the other ones I looked at. The staff was very professional.

Ivy Park at Salinas was remarkable. It kind of reminded me of a resort, like when you go on vacation, and you stay at a resort, and you're just like, 'Oh, my gosh! What is going on here?' It was nice. The person I met, was really sweet and nice. When you walk in the door, there's a huge area that almost looks like a hotel lobby or something similar, and there were a lot of people sitting around. Some people were reading, doing puzzles, or spending some time out of their rooms. It looked like they appreciate it and liked it. I said hello to a couple of people, I started asking them how they liked it, and they said that they really felt safe and supported there and that they liked it. There was one man there that was like a military veteran, and he had lost his wife, so of course, he was on his own now, but he conveyed that he felt really good there, so that was nice. There was so much there. There was like where they prepared the food, they had gathering rooms, and they had games and nights where they would invite everyone to come in and play bingo. The grounds were nice, and they had grass areas and patios where people could go out. They have movie nights. They have so many different activities so that people have something to do and hopefully form a community, so I like that, too. They had individual rooms, and they also had some that would be accommodating for two people but with separate kinds of ways out. It's not like they would have beds together. They were set up as if someone had a little studio apartment and maybe they had a roommate or something. Even the lady that I was walking around with, as we were walking around, she knew the people that were living there, so that was nice. I don't know how many hundreds of people live there, but it's nice that she was social, and she was able to engage with people throughout the day, too, and say hello because you have to build a community.

Ivy Park at Salinas was absolutely beautiful. The facility was very clean. Everybody was super friendly. It smells good in there. We saw a one-bedroom apartment. It was clean, big, and perfect for one person. They have three meals a day. They have a garden, a gym, a fitness center, an indoor and outdoor lounging area, an activity studio, a library, a full-service salon, and a chapel. They have scheduled transportation, weekly housekeeping, and laundry. You can even have pets there. I saw the food, and the plates were huge. They had tons of food.

My friend will be moving into Ivy Park at Salinas' assisted living. Another friend moved in two weeks ago, and she's been there for 2 weeks and she said it's fabulous. The place looks excellent. It felt like I was on a cruise. I've been on many cruises and it felt like I was on one when I saw it. It's like a very nice and very high-end cruise. The people were extra friendly, everything was top-notch, and I was very, very impressed. They have all kinds of activities like movie nights, and they bring in any entertainment every Thursday. They take them on little trips over to Watsonville, to a bird sanctuary there, and Pinto Lake. They take them to Monterey, to some kind of an ice cream place over there. Some pastors come in if they want to have a chapel service. I think there was a trivia game the other day that they were doing so people could participate. They have a mile-long list of anything and everything that you could want. I haven't eaten the food, but I have looked at the menu and it looked like a cruise ship that looked and sounded very, very nice. It has a good variety too.

My dad moved into Ivy Park at Salinas. It started a little rough. He had to be hospitalized for four days because his blood pressure dropped. But since we've been back, he's adjusting well. He's gotten great care, so we've been pretty happy so far. My dad's room is a little small, but it seems to be fine. He's got a nice big bathroom and shower. The room looks new with new carpet and everything. They've got a great living room and kitchen. It seems to meet all my dad's needs. They do regular clean-up and laundry. My dad connected with several different employees there. They connect with the people that they take care of, so you can tell that there's a lot of care there. The memory care unit is a little different because a lot of the residents are in wheelchairs or need assistance. So activity-wise, it's limited. But they do other things to stimulate, like they have live music come in and weekend exercises. I like that they have other areas where you can take family and meet separately. The dining room is very big. Whenever I go there, I can sit with my dad, and there's plenty of room. He seems to like the food, and when he doesn't like something, they will prepare something separate for him.

It is a very nice, clean, and beautiful place. They got excellent staff, but it is just too expensive for us. My mom has a standard one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and a living room. They have church services, lots of exercises, a restaurant, house cleaning, laundry services, and pretty much everything. The food is good too. They also play like a volleyball but with a beach ball, they have game nights and all kinds of things. So, there's plenty to do.

It is gorgeous when you first enter the assisted living, but when I got to the memory care, I didn't like it at all. It was not up to par for me. The visit was nice and the lady who toured me was very pleasant and nice. They had activities and a dining area.

The apartments were fine. They have individual apartments in the same building, and they also have medical, if you need it. Their staff was nice and efficient.

It looked more like a hotel when you walked in and saw the front desk. We were able to see one unit that one of the residents let us see, but it was occupied. They were a good size. There was a little kitchen there, but I don't remember seeing appliances besides a refrigerator. It was more like what I can find at a hotel, but it was good. The staff showed us around. It was a nice facility. It looked like a dining area, where there were some people gathering and playing something. I liked that the grounds were nice.

The unit was small. The residents seemed pretty well assisted in their state or present health state. The staff seemed very polite and they seemed very confident. I presumed the meals are good. It was comfortable and for assisted living we thought it was very good.

I've found this facility for my mother. I would rate them very highly and they're a really nice facility. They take care of people. All the aids and nurses are very, very friendly. It's a really nice facility.
