I went to Atria Rancho Mirage. It's beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The dining area looked clean. It looked like they had a lot of game options like bingo and different game activities, cards, books, and movies.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I am a friend of a resident living in this community & I have recently been visiting her more than usual for the past few weeks & I would love to share my experience with others. As soon as I walk in I am always greeted with kindness from the lady's & gentlemen on the desk! Everyone I walk by never fails to show me a smile. Ever since masks stop being mandatory I appreciate smiles more! I love how active my friend has been since she has been living here, she seems more lively with all her new friends. I had dinner with her one night, & it is amazing how well the kitchen staff knows her! She was having trouble remember what her favorite drink was, & before she could think of it a server already had it on her table & she just giggled & that made me super happy! When my time comes this is definitely a place I will keep in mind! Thank you for everyone who has took time to keep her safe.

Atria Rancho Mirage was a spotless facility. The memory care unit was, I think, on the second or third floor. The patients there seemed good and happy. They greeted me. We looked at a single room and a shared room, and they were great. They're something you would feel comfortable in. They had a community dining area in the memory care unit. It looked friendly and cozy. It wasn't a huge thing. It's nice. The dining area looked very clean. The assistants that were helping the patients in the dining room were caring. It was just nice. But it was not affordable for us. The manager that we met with was so very cordial and did a follow-up, and just great.

I had a tour of Atria Rancho Mirage. I'm happy with it. It gives me everything I need. It was wonderful. They explained everything. My niece was with me, and she asked a lot of questions, and they answered them. She was happy with them, too. She thought that would be a good place for me because I can't cook anymore and I'll get my meals over there, three meals a day. It's a nice building, and the people were very, very nice. You get a microwave, and you don't have to pay for the utilities or your TV. It's a studio that I'm looking at. It has a nice little cubbyhole where I can put my computer. It's just perfect for me. The pool is great. They have a beauty parlor and a library. It was a gentleman that toured me around, and he was very professional. We had lunch there and it was great. That's one thing that I like.

My mother-in-law was at Rancho Mirage Terrace. She was in the memory care and our overall experience was zero. She gained 50 pounds. She's fat and she was not like that when she went in there. She fell in August and we didn't find out until November 28th. The staff does not allow you to talk to your relatives in private. I had to call them first when I went over there. Her room was clean, but her toilet was nasty. I couldn't even sit on it. They had activities. Every time I go in, they were doing bingo. They told us a certain amount of money at first, but when she moved in, they jumped to $300. We gave them the information to the bank and everything, but they didn't take out the money on time. They can improve on communication. If my mother-in-law falls, I should know about it. If you're asking the doctor for medication through the portal, I should know about it. Communication is the key. They can also improve on taking out the payment on time and the staff, giving our relatives privacy.

Provider Response

Thanks for reaching out about your mother-in-law's experience. If you need any further assistance, we're available directly via email.

Rancho Mirage Terrace is immaculate. We have very caring personnel. They're very helpful and pretty much on time for everything. They keep a very good schedule. As far as any other guests, everybody seems to be very satisfied with what their activities are and that sort of thing. They have exercise, games, bingo, and various activities. There is a lot of things to do. The beauty salon has provided haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and just about everything men want in a salon service. The library has quite a few books in it. They have an art room where they do all different things. The rooms are very nice, clean, and well furnished. I have no problems with any part of the room I have. They're very satisfactory. The staff is great and very helpful. The facility is more than adequate. The food is very good and timely. The meals are always on time and hot when they're supposed to be hot. There are lots to do. It's well worth the money. It's a convenient location for me.

My mother is on a waiting list at Rancho Mirage Terrace. Everyone was friendly. It was very clean. It had a really good vibe. It just seemed like the best fit for my mother. It wasn't too big. It felt more family oriented because it wasn't overwhelmingly big. They have a nice patio, a pool, and a jacuzzi.

Hello, We are looking forward to welcoming your mother to her new home. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for choosing Atria.

I visited this facility

I visited Rancho Mirage Terrace, but it's beyond my income. I had lunch there. It was beautiful and I wish that I could afford to be there, with the exception that it would have a lot of activities that I wouldn't be able to participate in because of my handicap. I would pretty much have to stay in my apartment pretty much most of the time. My caregiver was with me, and I remember there was a special type of service, I think it was around Halloween time for Catholic people. It was very good food, and the cook came out and talked with us and that was very nice. He was a gourmet cook, and the meal was very much of a gourmet lunch meal. It was very delicious, and my caregiver was very impressed also. The staff was very, very helpful. She had called me several times because she said she was very anxious that I would be able to move in there. But it just isn't possible on my income. It was almost breathtaking; it was so beautiful.

I went to Rancho Mirage Terrace. I found the facility rather sterile. It wasn't extremely welcoming. It lacked warmth, it's a nice facility, but once I looked at it, I said no, not for me. The two people that I interacted with were very pleasant. It was just too cold, too impersonal. The layout of the one-bedroom units was quite nice, as the saying goes, no cigar. I found the grounds very uninspiring. They had a swimming pool, but it was sort of off to one end of the facility. The common rooms just didn't have any warmth to them. They need to make it more personal.

We liked Rancho Mirage Terrace. It was more of a hotel feel to it. It didn't have a hospital feel. It was bright and cheery. The rooms were well appointed with extra things. There was a kitchenette in the room. The rooms were spacious. There were lots of amenities there. The cafeteria seemed to be set up very nicely, family style restaurant service. The services they offered were excellent. They all seemed very, very happy with their jobs and willing to help and be cheery.

The staff at Rancho Mirage Terrace showed us through, answered our questions, gave us lots of information, and he was very professional. My impression was overall good. It was not quite as luxurious as the other place, but it was less expensive. It was clean and a fine decent place. They had a swimming pool, group activities, and movies. It felt homey. My brother liked it. He said it felt friendlier than the other place.

Rancho Mirage Terrace was a relatively new facility. It is very clean and very nice. It is private pay. They have memory care, and they have different stages depending on how serious you are. It is a good place, and it was the least expensive place we could find because we originally didn't think that my friend had dementia. It is a full service type of scenario there, where they get three meals a day; it is pretty basic. You have your own room that you have to furnish, but it is very clean. They had activities there. With Covid, they held back a little bit. They had different entertainment people coming there. We were given a tour, and it is very well kept, very clean, and very nice. We did not visit memory care. We visited the basic where you take care of yourself. If we put my friend in there, once he runs out of money that is it. We saw one room that was furnished and one that was not furnished. It was very nice and very clean. They were the size to fit at least a queen bed, and they had a place for a computer. The main person that we met and the gal in charge of sales were very nice, very pleasant and helpful. They had a lot of things there. They had a pool, and there were people doing activities there. They were in their chairs doing some exercises. I did not see anything negative at all. It was all clean, very well done, and very well kept.

Rancho Mirage Terrace is beautiful. My patient moved into their assisted living level. The rooms are like miniature apartments that have kind of like a kitchenette. There's no real cooking facility in the rooms but it's got like a sink, and you can have a microwave, a toaster or a coffee maker if you wish to put them in, but it's your apartment. They come in different sizes, my patient is in a studio and she absolutely loves it there. The foods that I tasted there were fine, she has not made any complaints about the food and she's eating 3 times a day. They have a restaurant type menu where they have specials for the day, but they also have choices so that they aren't just stuck eating just one thing. They have a pool that's handicapped accessible, they have 2 large dining rooms, a happy hour on Friday evenings, bingo 5 days a week, and exercises twice a day every day. You ask for it, they pretty much have it. If anything happens to me I'd go to this community.

Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage was nice, but there was nothing extraordinary about it. The people were really nice. The marketing people were very welcoming. I saw a room and some of the spaces briefly. It was freshly painted. The room I saw was dark, but in the desert that's usually preferable, because it gets so hot here.

Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage is primarily basic. They don't provide medical care or things like that. They provide you three meals a day, a room, and whatever is necessary. I require at this time only help with bathing. There are two dining rooms divided equally, with probably 50 people in each dining room. The food is good. They have transportation to doctors, dentists, or wherever you need to go. Their calendar of activities is detailed, including what they're doing every hour, whether it's exercises, games, or trips. I like that they provide a nice gazebo outside for smoking.

Memory care unit upstairs is dark and dreary. Senior staff is friendly on the surface but apparently vindictive if you move your loved one to another facility. After we moved our loved one to another facility, unbeknownst to me, a bill for phone service was unpaid. No one at the facility informed me of this and eventually it was turned over to a collection agency. The collection agency sent letters to Mission Hills which were never forwarded to me. It's interesting to me that Mission Hills had my home address to send me their bills but apparently couldn't find it to send the collection notices to me. Now, my credit is damaged. Thank you, Mission Hills.

I met a lot of the staff at Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage and they were were all amazing, from housekeeping to the activities director to the chefs. It's a smaller facility, but it's nice and they have plenty of activities. The rooms I saw were small and my grandparents needed a larger room. It's very comparable for the price, but the food wasn't that great.

Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage was good. Everybody was very friendly. I got a very thorough tour. I got to look at a couple of different apartments and everything was fine. The rooms were good and comparable with the others. The dining was nice. They were putting in something for pets. They didn't have transportation on weekends for church, but they did have somebody from the church come in and give a service. However, my mother really likes to dress up and go to church. They also had set dining at set times for the meals.

Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage was nice but doesn’t have a lot around it. It was very clean and had a welcome sign with my name on it. The lady representing the place was extra nice and showed me all around. There were activities for the residents to do every day. The dining area was lovely. If my parents were in there, they would think they were in Taj Mahal. They have a nice menu with lots of options. They named the hallways after Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope, so that the residents feel comfortable. The staff responded well, and the lady answered questions that I didn’t even know I should be asking.

My mother is in Mission Hills Rancho Mirage. She has been there for two years. I like the fact that they do holiday parties for the family about a week before the holidays. They have the best food to do that. They have a really nice group of people who work there. You feel so comfortable. They have outings all the time. You can bring your cat, and she has two. She really likes where she is right now. It is a very nice facility. The rooms are very nice. They take her to her doctor’s appointments. The staff goes an extra mile for my mom. The place is clean and cheery. The people are wonderful. The director is fabulous and has his office so that he sees everybody that comes in. A couple of times a month, they go out to each lunch. She likes to go to the stores, and they take her. She loves the activities because she gets to teach people how to play cards. My mother’s name is Beverly, so they have Beverly’s cards at 6 o’clock.

Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage was a clean and pleasant place. Everyone was helpful. We ended up placing my mom there, but it also helped that it was just 5 minutes away from my brother's house. Everyone had been wonderful, and they went out of their way to make the transition as smooth as possible. I had a couple of meals there and the food was good, smaller portions primarily for seniors but it's good quality food.

My mother is in Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage. It was pretty low grade, so it peaked our interest. The price was right, and we did it based on cost. The staff was wonderful except for the girl that does the selling. She's not good at her job and she's so insecure. The activities are limited there, but they have bingo and crafts on a daily basis. The only thing she does there is eat and play bingo. She says the food is very good. The choice that they have on the menu is extremely limited compared to where she was. They serve small portions and you only have one choice. The quality is fine, but they need more choices. They also need to clean the halls up a little.

Mission Hills needs an update and new carpeting. It’s built more like a hotel, has two stories, which I don’t like, and it’s not clean enough. They do have good activities. I didn’t like the dining room; it’s more like a feeding hall. The food was excellent, but Joe, who was the head of the kitchen, isn’t there anymore, so I don’t know how it is anymore. They’re not putting enough money into it. They need to re-carpet again, so they’ll probably do that.

Mission Hills at Rancho Mirage was not quite as updated and nice. It was a little bit older and tired. They have set meal times. The one I liked the best was Mission Hills Senior Living. We liked the atmosphere, and the units seemed very nice. They have the two units separated, but they're equal, and I just liked it better than the others I visited. I talked to a woman whose husband was there, and she was happy with the care. They can't get out if they're in the memory wing. They have a weekly outing somewhere. They gave me some pastry, and it was delicious. From what I can tell, it's about as good as it gets.

My friend has been at Mission Hills for over a year now. I think it is a very nice place. She's settled down. She goes to the dining room for her meals, and then they have activities during the week. I think the staff has been very helpful, accommodating, and cheerful. It's just a very clean, kept-up community. Our friend who is there has problems: she has dementia, and she imagines things. She is being taken care of. Mission Hills has walkers and wheelchairs, but I personally would prefer to be on one floor.

Mission Hills was clean and nice. The people were very friendly and nice. The area may not be as accessible because it was kind of a set aside area. But it was not that far. It was may be 15 to 20 minutes to a more populated area with shopping and restaurants. They also had a restaurant style for meals, which was nice. May be their activity calendar wasn't quite best, but they had an outdoor pool. I thought the main draw back was the room plans. They weren't quite as good. I don't really like the fact that even the one-bedroom model, they had very little extra storage and all the bedroom had regular size closet which wasn’t very big. But the bathrooms were nice and they had all the safety ropes. They had a small refrigerator under the counter.

Mission Hills is a lovely place, kept very clean. It has a very pretty, nice big dining room. The food isn't as good as I've seen in other places at the moment. The staff at Mission Hills was very outgoing and very anxious to help. They had shows every week and I've already received invitations to their events. It was a little bit more open space. That would be a second choice but I still wouldn't want to go there because it was a smaller facility and off the very main street, down the street from the hospital, kind of set off in their own property. It was more appealing to me but at this point in my life, it wasn't something I wanted to pursue.

The dining room was always clean and well organized. The meals seemed well rounded and good portion sizes. The facility provided assistance for residents needing it as well as more private setups for residents that needed less help. The apartment setup offered residents the opportunity to maintain a private lifestyle that did not confine them to a hospital room- it felt more like home. The staff was always friendly and upbeat, whether they were greeting you at the door or helping a resident. The facility often provided activities and social opportunities for residents to listen to music, hear stories, go shopping, and participate in performances and religious programs. There was also a pool for residents to exercise and get outside. I felt safe with my elderly relative here as the staff could provide medical help which was needed for her a few times. We felt assured she had opportunities to stay busy and active while still taken care of while in her more fragile state.
