I visited this facility

I visited Westmont of Pinole and toured their memory care. It was fine and looked like a good place. It was clean, and it seemed like they were taking care of the people there very well. The only thing is that the price was just too high for us. I don't think we could afford what they were charging. During the tour, the staff was helpful.

Westmont of Pinole was a very nice facility. It was just visually appealing. They had lots of activities for their patients that were there. They had a lovely garden area. They had a lovely aviary with birds. They take them on field trips. The staff was very friendly and cordial.

I visited this facility

I toured Westmont of Pinole about a week ago. I had positive feedback from a couple of their residents. I like the rooms. They had shared rooms that were divided and shared rooms that were undivided. The place was cleaned. They had an aviary with birds, and that was nice. The residents were in the common areas where they were playing games. They had activities scheduled during the day. The dining area looked OK.

I visited this facility

We toured Westmont of Pinole. It was good when we came in. The director lady met me at the door. We went into her office, and we sat down. She asked me questions about my brother, what condition he was in, what was his hobbies, and what kind of work he did. They showed me their daily, weekly, and monthly schedules. They showed me what their menu was. The food was cooked there. They had two dining areas. We talked about the pricing and the paperwork I needed to have. In their cafeteria-dining area, they had a Father's Day party with a Western theme. The ladies showed me the exercise rooms. All I saw were the rooms and the dining area. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly, very nice, and very informative.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband moved into Westmont of Pinole. Everyone was very welcoming. Everyone had smiles. They gave directions when it looked as if I was lost. They seemed to support one another in the different duties that they were performing. Some asked for help, and others volunteered. The administrative staff was quite congenial and they asked lots of open-ended questions. I didn't feel any pressure. It was one of three times that I visited before making a final decision. And each time that I visited or talked with someone on the phone, they provided the answers to questions that I had concerns with. I wanted to make sure that this was the best fit for my husband and our family. And we decided to go forward. His room is a room that was divided into two parts, A and B, and formerly it was a large room. Some time ago he was in the B section, which is the larger of the two portions. The room is divided by a wall that does not go all the way up to the ceiling. It's maybe about ten or 12 inches. So that there is an opportunity, I guess, for some discussion, If my husband and the gentleman chose to do that. He has two large windows that let in lots of light, but there were, I guess, pulled-down screens that provided light filtering in the evening at night, but it raised during the day. I was happy to see in another apartment that there was a hummingbird feeder that was in front of their window. We have hummingbirds that come to our house. So in trying to make his location as home-like and memorable as possible, I did purchase a tall shepherd's hook that will be placed in front of this window. They haven't done it yet, mainly because I haven't asked them. I plan on asking the manager that operates the facilities to place it, and so he can get hummingbirds to come to visit him. He has a large bathroom with a shower that has a fold- down chair and toilet and sinks. It's easily accessible. And there is an emergency alarm button that is available. He has indicated that he has enjoyed taking the showers there because it's open, so he doesn't feel claustrophobic. They have a calendar of activities, of scheduled things to do, three or four that I remember. He has been out a couple of times from his room, still getting acclimated since it's only been a week and a half. They have bingo. They had a happy hour on Thursday, and the residents seemed to enjoy that. They did have a Mardi Gras on Fat Tuesday. He had not moved in at that point, but we had been invited to attend. Last Wednesday they did give him a bouquet of welcome balloons and some Mardi Gras beads and a couple of other little trinkets. They have access to Direct TV, which he was happy about because he had been watching a lot of TV at home. So, that was available right away. It was hooked up, and so even on the first night, he had access to television, and we were able to set up his Roku. So, he was able to get Netflix and some of the other channels.

Westmont of Pinole was very clean. They were thorough in giving me a tour of the different rooms and explaining the different prices. They had a nice garden area in the back where people could sit, and I thought it was very pleasant-looking. It looked like the facility was up to date. They had a beauty salon, a patio, and an activity room. I saw the menu, and I was impressed. I thought they had a very nice menu. The dining area didn't seem crowded. It was very well arranged.

I visited this facility

I was able to visit Westmont of Pinole and it was wonderful. The layout was beautiful, it's a nice setting, everything's clean and there were no smells. Downstairs, they had sitting areas for the family to come in. Say, you wanted to have a birthday party, they had rooms that could accommodate the family and you could come in and bring food. It's three floors, and they have another floor on the back for assisted living, and they have gardens all around. So in the summer, it's nice and you can go out in the sitting areas there. One of the floors had a gym with a couple of things to sit on, you can ride the bike, and they had a couple of fitness equipment. They also had somebody to help direct you to get on the fitness equipment. It's nice. The person who gave the tour was very knowledgeable, and we also met the staff and caregivers. They come up to the rooms if you need help with getting bathed or dressed, they can help you. It's one of the nicest places I've seen. For the husband and wife, they have rooms for two, it's a really beautiful facility. I really would recommend them. They gave us lunch, we had chicken alfredo and they had a chef, it's wonderful. And when you go to the front of the facility, it's all sitting areas because you want to sit out there and talk with your family and relatives or have conferences, you can bring people outside or kids or grandkids, and they can just sit there. It's perfect.

I visited the memory care at Westmont of Pinole about 3 years ago but we have some relatives that recently moved in too. The employees were very, very friendly and the place had a warm feeling to it. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the rooms were small. The property is very nice. They had a birdcage and you can sit there and watch the birds lay eggs, then eventually the eggs hatch, and the birds come out. It's very nice. I know my cousin there is very picky but she eats the food. They have very nice people, are very warm, and the employees are very good.

Westmont of Pinole looks like a very nice community and the gal who did the tour, her name was Jennifer, was very helpful, very professional, and very informed. We did a short tour of the assisted living and the memory care facility. I don't know what the quality of care is yet because my mom hasn't moved in, but the facility itself seemed very good. My mother is in another assisted living facility right now and we were talking about moving her into the memory care but theirs is on the second floor with absolutely no outdoor access at all. What impressed me about Westmont is that they have 2 outdoor areas for memory care. From what I saw, the cleanliness is very good too. The memory care has a separate entrance and it's down below on the first floor, sort of backs up against the hillside. The assisted living on floors 2 and 3 has a separate entrance up the hill. It's a very well renovated building. We saw 2 rooms, a large studio, and a small studio, and we also saw a shared studio. I was very impressed with the shared studio because it was very large and it was designed with the 2 beds on separate walls so the individuals have quite a bit of privacy while still being able to share their space with someone else if they wanted to talk to you or not feel alone. The shared studio layout was very impressive. I don't know what the level of staffing and level of care is but just from looking at it, walking through it, seeing the residents, it was excellent. Jennifer was very responsive to my emails and when we showed up in the morning, she had answers to all our questions about it. She showed us both sides, was very knowledgeable and was very approachable. We also met some of the supervisory staff and they seemed very friendly. Of course, everybody's friendly. The people that work there seem to be doing their jobs. I know for this economy, it's tough to maintain staff at these senior facilities because it's not an easy job. The grounds were kept up well, and all the quarters and rooms were nice. The rooms, especially in memory care, came with built-in modern furniture for their use. The bathrooms were fully handicapped-accessible with grab bars.

I went to Westmont of Pinole. It was a good tour, Jennifer was nice, and I liked it. They have an excellent staff, and they seemed to run their thing well. It was clean and well kept. They offer food, cable, entertainment, and lots of different things. In memory care, they give the patient their medication, and they try to work with them to try to improve their memory and so forth. We saw the rooms, they're very nice. I think they did different things on the patio, and they did different things inside too. They have bingo.

I visited this facility

I went to Westmont of Pinole. They have a separate memory center in a different building. I was invited to come in for an orientation to review their brochure and get information (kind of an assessment of my husband and his current condition). It was in the office area where they have the senior assisted living. When it was time to take the tour of the memory center, we came out of that building and walked a few feet to another building; that's where they have the memory center, so it is more secure. You can tell the difference. I really enjoyed what I saw. The staff was really very engaging as we were taking the tour. I really liked what I saw there. They showed the activities. They have a calendar, and they have an exercise room inside. They have the TV room where they do movie nights. They had along the walls all the different paintings of the birds and animals and just really brilliant pictures. They were doing activities with the big bouncing balls. I didn't see the activities for the assisted living. I saw the activities for the memory care when we walked in. It was nice. I saw the rooms. Some you bring your own TV, some you have to bring your own furniture.

I went and looked at Pinole Senior Village. The staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful. The facility was nice. It would've been a good place if we could afford it. The rooms would've been comfortable for my father. It was kind of a short visit because after we looked at the prices, there wasn't any reason to go forward. It would be a good facility for someone who needs memory care.

My friend moved into Pinole Senior Village, and so far she's been fine. Her room is fine. She doesn't have a lot of furniture and the bathroom is kept clean. The staff has been very helpful, we get along with them, and they're really good. As far as I've seen the food is fine. They have an outside area that's contained, and the facilities are well maintained. They work with her and it's very good.

Pinole Senior Village is a nice facility but they're on the higher end price wise. It's very well-appointed and clean. The memory care is a bit depressing though because it's pretty full. They've got a lot of residents but the staff to resident ratio is low. It's just sad to see their population because they really don’t have much to do, just wandering and trying to make it through the day. The rooms are very nice. They have activities but it's a little limited. Everything is updated, clean, and kept up. I visited both their assisted and memory care sections.

I visited this facility

We toured the Pinole Senior Village. The memory care was down in the basement and it was kind of dark, but they had some outdoor areas where they could go. They didn't have levels of care in the memory unit. The residents were more wheelchair bound and had walkers and had to have more assistance. They weren't level 1 like my dad. They were more level 2s and 3s. The staff was very nice, very friendly, followed up, and called me a couple of times. The dining area was fine.

I visited Pinole, and it's not bad. The room was bigger and pretty nice, and the environment was quiet. It was not very bright because the floor was wood, but it was OK and pretty clean. They mentioned they take them out to downtown Pinole to visit. The place needed more decorations.

I visited Pinole Senior Village. The rooms were nice. They had an area for the activities. At the time we were there, they were having activities with singing, and the residents could stand to dance and sing along with what they had on the screen. They were all studios which were not large, but they were nice and clean. The dining area was nice. The staff was nice, and they were working with the people, and they seemed very care. They had a courtyard, and they had some planters or planting areas where the residents could put some plants in and things like that. They would work with the residents doing that.

Pinole Senior Village was nice, well maintained, and clean, and the food was very good. The staff was nice and very friendly, and seemed like they were doing a good job. We went to Pinole Senior Village. Without exception, the staff members on duty were exceptionally gracious, friendly, excellent, and supportive. They were more than willing to share whatever information they thought you needed. It was a good tour. We enjoyed seeing the facilities. However, for us, one of the greatest disadvantages was the fact that it was a little too far away from San Francisco.

I went to Pinole Senior Village. We were only there for a half hour or so, but I thought it was a pretty good place. It’s close to where we live. It was like in a suburb out there. I thought it was good. The rooms were clean and tidy. They were pretty much the same -- nothing hit us either good or bad -- but it’s a place close to home, and they had a friendly staff. They had the movies, the games, and you can travel once in a while. I would recommend anybody that’s looking to consider this community.

My visit to Pinole was very good, and I was impressed with the facility. It was newer, nicely appointed, and well decorated. The people were very accommodating, very helpful, and very informative. It had smaller rooms, which I didn’t like so much, but overall it was very comfortable. It was a very pleasant place. They offered us a very low income rate, and that was the important thing. However, it was a little far.

I visited this facility

We visited Pinole Senior Village. The staff we met were helpful and informative. They were undergoing renovations when we visited. It felt a little stark, but that could simply be because it didn't have things hanging on the wall, and they were redoing the carpets. The residents were well cared for. They were eating at the time we were there. It just didn't feel terribly warm or inviting, and it didn't seem like there was much in the way of activity. We were told that they watched an old movie. They also do some physical activities, exercises, and memory games, but nothing was going on when we were there. They had some private rooms and some shared rooms. They were good-sized and some looked into a courtyard. They seemed fine, acceptable, and clean. The dining area had various tables, and it felt a little cafeteria, not very warm and inviting. It's worth somebody looking at, especially after they completed renovation, but they should have more activities and more of a home-like feel, more warmth in the atmosphere and environment.

I visited Pinole Senior Village for my sister. I was very impressed with it. It was very clean. The staff was very knowledgeable. The director of this facility was very helpful and very knowledgeable. It was really nice. The grounds were nice. The landscaping was pretty. The rooms were attractive. She showed me about three to four different rooms. I was very favorably impressed. Basically, they assisted with showing me the rooms, telling me the prices and how the various elevations go, whether it is independent living, assisted living or memory care, so I got all of that.

I thought about moving in at Pinole Senior Village myself, in case I got that bad. The staff was very professional and courteous with nothing to hide. I mean, they showed us everything. They had a really nice outside area that was secure. They could get some time to have a little walk in the path with nice trees and flowers, and then the inside was really nice. The rooms were very nice, so it was all around nice. If I had to live in a home, this wouldn't be a bad place to live. This one was full of sunshine. Whoever built it, built it with plenty of sun to come in and nice colors. The only problem was, my mother-in-law became where she needed more than assisted living, and they don't provide that. She needs the most advanced level of care, and they don't do that. It is located literally right off the freeway, and the convenience is fine, easy parking, easy everything.

We found Pinole Senior Village for my mother-in-law. The main reason we chose this was the location. It was the closest to us. It's a larger facility and it seemed to have other services offered. They do activities like crafts, gardening and music. The staff were good. They have a very large parking lot.

We chose Pinole Senior Living for my dad because of its location. It's in a place that he lived for 40 years. It is also super highly recommended by several people we know who had relatives there. They offer transportation, not just to appointments. At least three or four days a week they do outings to local events. They also do exercise classes, music programs, and art, all sorts of things. They keep the people very active. They staff were able to answer all the questions I had. He is in a pretty big shared room.

There's one in Pinole that we visited and we really like this place. It's called Pinole Senior Village. The place is very clean and nice. The people there are very friendly. They have different types of rooms, but they didn’t have any available that would fit my income and my needs. I have Parkinson's disease and a chemical sensitivity, and it's been really hard to find the right place for myself.

My brother and I toured the facility, it was very nice, clean, friendly, the thought of putting our mom in an assisted living was out of the question in my mind, but when we went to the facility it was very nice, the people were great and i can see they care about their patients. My mom will be going into a facility soon and it will break my heart, so I am glad they have these amazing places for someone in her condition, at least I know they care.
