I went to The Watermark at Napa Valley. They had a model one-bedroom that I can only use one word to describe, it was stunning. It was beautiful. It was like the apartment you always wanted to live in. It looks like it wasn't a senior living home. When you pay $30,000 to get in there, they've got something going on, more than the usual place. And it was just lovely. It was lovely, but it was very expensive. The guy who took care of the tour was delightful. He was great. He was very nice. He was there and spent the time and we looked at several studios. We looked at them because I could manage the studio there. The food was fantastic. They had a chef, not a cook. They had 2 or 3 menus and 2 or 3 dining rooms. It was pretty fancy. They had a gym that was geared for old folks. And they had a guy that was there doing exercises every day. This guy would work with you and give you a special. I thought that was amazing. And then they have a walk-in clinic to help you with things when you can't get to the doctor. And I thought that was good, too. They had a nice outdoor area, and a place where you could sit on chairs. It was shaded and it was really beautiful. And then they had 2 or 3 dining rooms. One of them had a bar. They have happy hour every night. So, there are more amenities with the more money you spend. We had lunch there. They had a chef on hand and he knew what he was doing. I had a gourmet salad with grilled peaches and it was just lovely. The food was lovely.

Diana was the one we worked with us here and she was phenomenal and so helpful. She gave great insights on how to help mom in the best way. Their amenities were outstanding. They had two 5-star restaurants and then another nice restaurant. They had snacks out that people could come and get at any time. So it wasn't just three routine meals. They were open all the time with snacks and if you wanted something extra, you could get it. You could either have the food taken to your room, like room service, or you could go to the restaurant. They had a happy hour in their general area so it was just phenomenal. It was luxury resort living. Diana showed us two studios and a one-bedroom. The studios were very nice with had very different layouts that would work well for anybody. On the first one that we walked down, I noticed that the kitchenette was a little bit further from the bedroom and the living area, which in our instance was a little bit of a walk, but for a regular person, it was just right there. The next studio was more of an all-inclusive. It was very clean. They had one that looked onto the courtyard in the center with all of its fountains and flowers, while the other one was secluded, like a parking lot kind of view that looked over the tennis courts and things like that. The one-bedroom was very spacious and very nice. They had very short hallways, so there was not a ton of walking and it's soundproof. You could be in the hallway and not hear any of the other residents' televisions or anything. It was well done.

We like that it is set up kind of like a resort. It's very open and has friendly people. It doesn't feel like the kind of place that my mom wouldn't like. It looked like the people living there were very active. Even their memory care seemed to have a lot of programs. I think that it's a place that my family will like going to see my mother. The accommodations, the room, and everything looked really good. The staff is professional and friendly too. I tried the food on the day we went to tour it and it was good.
