My mother moved into Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living. We chose it because of its good location, the very nice staff, and the very clean private rooms that go out onto an outside courtyard. The staff is great. Sometimes my mom likes the food, sometimes she doesn't. The room is very clean and in good shape. They just replaced all the floors right before we got there. They always repaint the rooms before you move in. The little problems were minor, little things they had to fix, which they did, that we noticed in the room. They have a maintenance crew that comes and fixes any problems. They do try to keep them busy during the day. They always bring them all out of their rooms. They try to do exercises and games. They have discussions of current events or watch a little documentary about something. They try to keep them active - their minds and their bodies.

We toured Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living. They have an activity calendar with things scheduled all day long. They get the residents to the activities. The day I toured, they had bingo, an art project, and a singing session. They had musicians come in with cellos that played the concerts for them, so I'm very impressed. They have some facility pets there that they bring around for the residents. I brought my three teenage children with me and we've been there for five hours, and my kids loved it. Linda was so accommodating, and with different personal issues going on with each family and their needs, she was able to exhaust how they could help with all of that, and I was impressed. We didn't eat there but while we were there, Linda had snacks brought in for my kids. The other thing that is special about this place is, that other places have locked-up hours that you can't go visit. At Sparr Heights, you can visit 24 hours a day. If I wanted to check in at 3 a.m. I could and I'm allowed to spend the night if I want. I'm just amazed. It's such an open-door policy. They're like completely transparent on everything there. I have been to facilities that look more high-class than this one. This facility, it's like you don't walk into it thinking it's a five-star hotel, it's a bit more homey.

Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living was a very nice place. They have wonderful activities and there seems to be a nice camaraderie between the staff and the residents. The lady that gave the tour was very nice. She was very helpful, very cordial, and gave us a wonderful tour. She sat and listened to what our needs were and everything, and then tried to help us in that regard. It was very clean. The reception area was nice. Everybody was very welcoming. It looked like it was a very well-kept building.

Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living was a very good place. The people were very nice, both the staff and the residents. We got to meet a lot of them. It was just a nice, clean facility, and I would recommend it. The apartments had a bed, a nightstand, and a desk. They were clean and it had a nice bathroom. So, the apartments were very presentable. It was just very pleasant. The person that did the tour was a nice girl. The building was good. The only drawback, if there is one, is that it's on a fairly busy street, and if somebody wanders out into the street, they could get run over.

Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living was a wonderful place, but I cannot afford it. The one thing that stood out in my mind was that there was so much integrity and respect for the patients. They showed me a single room, and it was like a suite. It had a bathroom, a little sink, and a closet. It was also attached to a courtyard. The staff members were friendly, kind, and very generous with their time. The building was clean. It was on one of the main roads, so that was a little bit concerning, but it was locked.

I am writing to share how unfortunate that this facility is now operating. Under the management of Sparr Heights the following has taken place: -zero communication between caregivers and our family about daily events -ENORMOUS turn over in staff... used to be a kind and caring staff - youtube plays all day no other activities for residents... all the advertising about enriching environment is inaccurate. -very expensive for poor care overall. My family member actually overheard a caregiver scream at a resident " pick up your feet" My mother in the past 3 weeks has demonstrated signs of being anxious and unhappy. It is so sad because before sparr heights management it was a wonderful residence for my mom.

I had been down to Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living many times, and I visited the memory care facility recently. They're right in the middle of the downtown area in Montrose. It seems to be well-staffed. They had just switched over to the new company when I did my walkthrough. It's a nice facility. They provide three meals a day and they told me that my aunt could have a special diet. It's not really a special diet, it's just what she's used to having. They seem to be operating trying to please the patients. However, I haven't cared too much for the person they have to make all the decisions of all my aunt's needs and stuff. She has been very hard to get a hold of. She has been sort of unapproachable. My aunt lives in Malibu right now, and she said, "Oh, I don't cover Malibu." They've got a lot of activities. Each room has its own bathroom. My aunt needs assistance in preparing and getting out of the shower, and they have a special showering facility for those people. Their parking is street parking, and you have to hunt for a place to go. So that was a downfall as far as parking facilities. However, the memory facility is on the first floor with their own private outdoor patio. They can have gardening and little things like that.

I liked Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living. It was the first place we saw, and it was much smaller. The area where everything was done (like watching TV or doing their exercise classes) was smaller. At that time, the majority of the individuals were in walkers or wheelchairs and really weren't getting around. I have two friends whose parents were in that facility. Both of them were extremely happy with it. They really liked the facility and had no issues with it. The lady that took me around was very nice. She was a different person than we initially were scheduled with. There were a couple questions that she wasn't sure about the answers to, which we would have been able to talk to the person we were initially supposed to go on the tour with. The apartments were also smaller, but they were nice and clean. The challenge was they didn't offer nearly as much as the other facility did. Their prices were lower, but they didn't have cable included in the price. It depends on what your needs are. They also didn't do field trips. They didn't have a craft room, but they had exercise classes.

Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living was very nice. The staff was very professional and talked to us at great length. They have rooms for a single person and for two people in the memory care. It looks like a large square room, and you have to provide your own furniture. The also have a side glass door that opens up to an enclosed patio. The atmosphere was very warm. It was new, decorated well, homey and clean. They have different rooms that residents could go to, such as a media room where they could watch television.

My wife stayed at Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living for respite care. She was in the memory care section because that's all they had available, but they allowed her free reign. Her level of care was a little bit higher. I like the very quick response and interaction of the people there and the staff, and their professionalism. The cleanliness is just above board. In the dining room, they put out the menu for each meal on each table, and then the resident gets to select what they want from the menu each day. Then they publish the menu for the week on a big board where you come into the dining room. Their level of activities is quite good given that it's a single building complex. It doesn't have any external grounds that I know of, but they have a big inside patio where they have plants and flowers. It is a growing station so that the residents there can come out and water the plants; they can grow plants. My wife's room was right on the patio with a sliding glass door, so she had access to go out onto the patio and sit any time she wanted in the garden-like atmosphere. Their staff was excellent, they were outstanding. I had an early dinner with my wife when I was out there. The kitchen staff, and the dining room supervisor, were all just great. The food was awesome. I don't know how much better to say it, my wife enjoyed that. The only problem my wife has with some of these senior care facilities is many of the people are not as engaged mentally as she is. My wife's a writer, so she still reads and writes poetry. She doesn't think she's old. The facility probably looks a little better than some of the places I have been into. It looks like a big apartment complex, but it's very well kept. They have a nice ramp next to the entry, as well as stairs. They've got automatic doors. You're greeted, and you go in. The office is immediately in front of you. The activities director worked with us quite a bit when we were there. They set up a poetry reading for my wife. My wife took one of her main poetry books with her. They have a lot of activities. They do well for what they have. I think the value for money is excellent.

Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living is going through some remodel phase, but it was nice just the way it is right now. The rooms were nice. We walked around the facility and I was shown Jack and Jill rooms, grandma rooms and grandpa rooms, and the styles. It's a nice facility. I met the nurse that's in charge there and I spoke with some of the assisted living staff. There are two different sections. They have the memory area as well, and I met their staff, too, and they were nice. They were setting up one of the rooms for a birthday celebration. In the assisted area, they were having lunch, and it looked like they were enjoying their lunch. They made cupcakes for them and the staff gave me some cupcakes, which are very tasty, very nice, and decorative. They gave you the option of the different parts of the facility for assisted living or mental healthcare. They have to be evaluated whether or not they'll be on either side. There were two separate sections at that facility. If both of my parents were to go there and one had to be in the assisted living part, then one would live on one side and one on the other. With the capacity that my father's at, I think they could stay together. They would evaluate that, but they do have that option. They talked about still having them come together and working with both of them at the same time. They had a lot of activities there for them, bingo, puzzles, and books. It's a large facility. It was nice and the rooms were nice, also. It's a beautiful facility.

I liked it. I liked the amenities, and I thought that my mom would be in good hands if she had to go there. They had a library. The room was OK. The staff was very nice and very friendly. They had transportation. It was a very lovely facility.

It didn't work for me because they didn't have kitchens, and you have to eat downstairs. What I wanted was a regular apartment because I prefer to cook my own meals. Just walking in, it was nice. The dining room looked nice. The studio I saw was very small, with only enough room for a bed and maybe a chest. It was clean and had a medium sized bathroom but no kitchen. There weren't any grounds, but they had patios with tables and chairs, so I was kind of disappointed because I wanted a place to walk with grass. The patios were in between the buildings and were kind of inside and surrounded by the residences.
