Since my mom moving in September 2021, I have to say she looks good, healthy, clean, alert, the facility has done wonders for my mom, it's the best she has looked and felt in a long while, she very talkative, enjoy the interaction with staff, when me or other family members come to visit, we notice no smell of urine, the place is clean and the other residents always look good and well taken care of, they have a great Activities there for the residents too! The front desk team is pretty awesome and answering questions and taking care of things, I would recommend this facility to anyone who was looking for a place for their love ones! SG

I would have wanted to know what to bring when my husband was being transferred there. I would have wanted to know what equipment of our own we needed to bring. I called and was told they had bi-machines but they didn't and we had to drive 30 minutes back to my house to get ours AND we had to bring distilled water because it is "too hard for them to get". We arrived in the afternoon and evidently the department chairs only talk to incoming families in the morning. We were handed no paperwork, asked no questions and didn't meet any department heads until 5 days later. Most of the staff was nice and caring but the administration is invisible and uninvolved. Don't send anyone you care about to this place.

Multiple items of my moms came up missing. Phone charger, cigarettes. They didn't keep water available to my mom. Landline was disconnected until my sister said something. Bed side toilet had poop in it until I came to visit and asked about the smell. Mom was in there for a fall at home. She fell in there twice under their care. My mom wanted chicken so I brought her 4 pieces... she got 1 piece and the others disappeared. This place is terrible. And if the director of this place that yelled at my sister has something to say.... u have my email address. Let me know when a good time to discuss these Matters in person would be.

My father is at Lompoc Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I guess for what it is, he doesn't like it at all. Of course, he probably wouldn't like anything except for home. But I think it's clean. It looks very clean, and it's inviting. I'm not very fond of the staff because we've been trying to get their help with trying to figure out exactly what he needs. The front-desk staff is good, but I'm not too fond of the administration, to be honest with you. It's a nice facility. However, the one thing I did notice is in the rooms. They have maybe twenty-two-inch TVs, and they're very far away from the patient. I know if I were there and I were old, I'd want a little bit bigger TV -- maybe a forty-inch TV or something that makes them more comfortable, since they spend so much time in that room. I think they have a small gym, a simple gym, and they have a barbershop. I don't think he was able to use it until just recently when he got a haircut. After about seven months, he finally got a haircut. Getting a hold of them is sometimes difficult. The phone system isn't great.

The wonderful staff, from top to bottom, provided loving care for my mother . . . for which we will be forever grateful. For several years, she was always treated with professional care, companionship and respect. The professional staff, the medical team and the daily care providers ALL have our sincere gratitude. THANK YOU ALL.

My mom broke her ankle from the hospital to rehab. she was there before and got along with all got to know all the staff. This time was different, the hospital stared her on some her old meds and rehab continued them, she didn't know who I was from being stable minded to 1 flew over the coo coos nest so i asked what meds was she taking I said she only needs the meds she was taking at home, it took some time for them to take her off I feel they should have stopped all the extras when I said even when they got the list of meds she was on at home they still continued all the meds for some time. Anyways the meds made her kind of looney I'm sure she got on the nerves of the nurses but now she has her mind and they are actually mean to her, they leave her in her own feces for hrs she calls me so I can call them to change her when she calls them they just pass her by. She asked for a bedpan the nurse told her she wouldn't walk anywhere to get a bedpan for her. She is so week now from not having therapy from being over medicated for all that time she feels like its time to give she told me today she has excepted it now as in death and she said she will not gain her strength back and she knows it I pray with all my strength its not over

Lompoc Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is very clean. There's no odor of urine or diapers and no masking odors of cleaning fluids. They do a very good job in keeping everything clean. It's very nice and there is good staff to patient ratio. It seems like they have a good group there. My father needs 24-hour assistance so they help him get his food, drink his meds, get him dressed, go to the bathroom, and change him. His room is like a hospital room basically. He can have a shared or a private, but we put him in a shared room because it's better if he has more people around. They have bingo, music therapy physical therapy and occupational therapy. There's a different activity scheduled every day for them. The staff members are the friendliest and nicest people you can ever imagine and they're extremely patient. He likes the food quite a bit. He says it's good and he enjoys it.

Every time I have called in to various departments at this facility, the staff has been friendly, helpful, and extremely willing to provide assistance. My mother is difficult to deal with, and presents a real challenge to caregivers, therapists, and cooking staff. Everyone at Lompoc Skilled Nursing continues to bend over to accommodate my mother's demands. I salute every person at this facility for exhibiting extraordinary patience, kindness, and professionalism in dealing with my mother. I pray that they will have the strength and forebearance to continue doing so.

My mother-in-law was in Lompoc nursing home. I met one lady who had been there for eight years. There were people there for long term and there were people like my mother-in-law who was in hospice. It was sad and depressing. The rooms were awful, and she shared a room with another person. I didn't see any private rooms. There were two beds and a bathroom and a chair for each bed for visitors. The nursing staff was accommodating, but I didn't like the place. I didn't like the way it smelled. They do the best they can with the kind of population that they have. However, I didn't get any quick response from the administration or from the hospice nurse. The hospice nurse is separate from the nursing home, so that's not fair. The administration could be a little bit more accommodating to family that's out of the area.

The facility was wonderful, they had an Alzheimer's unit, a physical therapy unit, the building was beautiful, they had wonderful patients then, and I worked well with them. I had a blast. They kept the place nice and clean, and the patients can move around and about when their families came in. They had a nice little chapel there too, and someone came in to do service for them. I don't know how it is now over the years, but it was really a wonderful facility at that time. The best thing I liked about it was the way they put the patients first and made the family feel they didn't have to worry about their loved ones being there because there were well-taken care of.

My grandmother stayed at this retirement center for 10 years before she finally passed on. She told me multiple times that she enjoyed living there, and that the staff was very helpful. They were constantly checking on her and seeing if she needed any thing like a change of clothes, or food. Everytime i went there, there was usually a man playing the piano in the main hall, so that was definately a plus. The facility was very clean and tidy. The reason i gave it a four instead of a five, was the food. My grandma complained numorous times that her food was cold, and not very appetizing. If they were to get a better chef, this retirement home would definately get a five out of five. The staff was always helpful and courteous, it was clean and quiet, and there was always nice music to listen to in the main hall. The beds were decent, and the rooms were a decent size. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get their parents into a nursing home.
