My dad has moved into Windchime of Marin. We really like the people there that we met. It's one of the places that's close to my sister. We really like their outside garden area. My dad has just started this week and he's in quarantine. We went and met with them outside because of COVID. You can meet with people outside with masks on but you can't go inside. They just re-did the facility, so it's very nice, very clean, and very well lit. From the outside looking in, it looks really nice and my dad likes his room. They get a lot of nursing services. Because of COVID, they're not going into the hospital. They have a lot of nursing students who are finishing up their nursing and needed experience. My dad got a lot of people who are playing cards with him, doing puzzles with him, or talking to him. They're trying to keep them somewhat isolated. It's kind of hard because he forgets why he is supposed to be isolated. They did COVID testing before he went in, and they did COVID testing once he was in there. I thought they're taking COVID very seriously in there, i.e., practicing good safety protocols. The staff members have all been super, super nice and cooperative when they have to come over and meet my dad and do an evaluation with him. We have spoken to the director, who was very nice. When my dad went there, they all came out and greeted him. It was very nice.

I toured Windchime of Marin for my loved ones. It has a beautiful location and a nice building. They have a very helpful friendly staff. They answered all my initial questions and they followed-up.

Windchime of Marin is a memory care-only facility. It looked very nice, and there were a lot of activities. They had a nice garden. The rooms were very, very depressing, small, and dark, but the maintenance was good. They were in the middle of a remodel and it looked to be going well. The staff was very friendly and informative They had a nice courtyard with lots of vegetation. I just didn't think it was appropriate for my mother. The people there were further gone than she is. There's nothing wrong with the facility. It just wasn't right for us.

My husband will be going to Windchime of Marin. It is a very highly recommended facility for people with memory care issues such as Alzheimer's and dementia, and he has Alzheimer's and because it's close to my home, I chose that facility. It's a beautiful facility. It's very clean. The people are very helpful in trying to help me arrange his transfer, and I feel that it's the appropriate facility for him rather than a nursing home or an assisted living facility. Being a strict memory care facility, I think, is more what my needs are for my husband, and that's why I chose them. I feel that for the kind of care my husband is going to get there, even though it may have been more money than some other facilities, I think the quality of the care is going to be better and because it's more accessible for me, I'm able to go there and be with him as much as I want. That was my primary concern. Accessibility to me was very important, and some of the facilities are farther away, which will involve me traveling 35 to 40 minutes to get to. I can be at this facility in five minutes.

I went to Windchime of Marin, and it was a very good tour and very detailed. The program manager was very informative. He took his time. He showed me the facility. He even made a suggestion when I told him where I lived; he suggested a place that was closer to me. I thought that was very nice. He wasn't trying to be competitive. He was just trying to be helpful, so I appreciated that. The time of day that I went was an unfortunate time because it was later in the afternoon on a Friday and they had finished their activity, so I wasn't able to see the activities of the residents. I didn't see that, but they have a schedule of activities. I saw the board of all the things that they do; it was a full seven days of activities. It was very clean and looked very secure. My only concern would be the distance. The rooms were furnished. The room that he showed me that we sat in to talk was a single room. I saw the shared room, but I didn't have an opportunity to come and really sit in there. The private room was very nice and very clean. It's very secure with lots of trees, so the setting was very nice. It's for memory care.

My mother is doing great at Windchime of Marin. We're very pleased with the intimacy of the place and the staff. They're very communicative, nice, and we feel very comfortable with them. The community is three floors and everything is locked, but it's more homey because there are no alarms. I like the setup because it's small. The rooms are all basically around the center room, with a patio on each floor with a little bit of flowers, and the bottom floor has a patio with a nice dining room, but they eat and have activities on their own floor. I like the smallness of it, the physical as well as the emotional aspect. They're extraordinarily responsive. I hear from several of them, keeping me abreast, whether it be by text or phone call, so I'm always kept informed. It's wonderful. They have activities all the time which I'm very pleased with. They play music, which is important. I am also very pleased to see that they ascribe to Teepa Snow's philosophy for caregiving for dementia people, which is a positive for me.

The staff who gave us a tour of Windchime of Marin was really wonderful. She showed us the place, the entertainment, and all the facilities. However, the atmosphere of the place was depressing, so I won't put my mother there. I'm sure it will be wonderful for some people, just not for me. The staff was great and very attentive. I also ate there and my food was really good.

Windchime of Marin was very nice. We had a very nice, long chat and tour with the director himself. He came across as very knowledgeable and involved. The dining area looked clean and spacious.

Windchime of Marin was very nice. The lobby was very warm and welcoming. They had beautiful views of Mt. Tam from the outdoor patio in the back. Everything was clean, well lit, warm, and inviting. The staff person who assisted me, Sheri, was lovely, very informed, warm, and caring. She introduced me to the residents as we walked around, and it was nice that they know the people. We talked to them when we walked by. They were very professional and very nice. They were getting ready to do some painting while I was there, but I did not actually see them painting. They seem to have a full calendar of activities available.

I went to Windchime. It was fine. The rooms were lovely. They had a big dining room with nice linens and nice tissues. It looked really pretty. As far as I could tell, the atmosphere was good. I saw the calendar of activities. They were busy. They do a lot of things. They went on trips and gave them rides to the doctors. It was close to a hospital, which was probably less than 10 minutes away.

I thought Windchime of Marin was very nice. The staff seem adequate. It wasn't as modern or clean as the others, but it was more homey and it's a smaller facility. The food looked very good and there was a good variety and people can choose from different things so there was something for everyone.
