We moved my mom to Scholl Canyon Estates earlier this month. It's an independent facility in Glendale. They offer 3 meals a day and light housekeeping once a week. They also actually have a caregiver that lives at the facility. It's separate from the rent if we choose to have them, but we're not using them right now. Even though the price is kind of high, all the utilities like water and everything are included. That is convenient. Right now, we have no complaints except waiting for the internet. It's also included, but we haven't gotten it yet. I haven't really tried the food, but I've seen what they give her. They have a pretty varied menu. They have a lot of activities like movies, yoga, bingo, and coloring. I think there's also a shuttle there that picks the residents up for local shopping and stuff. I think everything is pretty much satisfactory.

I liked the atmosphere of Scholl Canyon Estates very much. I got an invitation in the mail to come and view it when they had an Oktoberfest. The food was very good. I particularly enjoyed that. The place was nice. They provide three meals a day, transportation, exercise classes, and different group tours taking you out of the site to museums and also to shopping and all that. The lady that showed me around was excellent and very knowledgeable as well.

Scholl Canyon Estates was very nice and very pleasant. My brother is content there. He has a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment with a microwave, a sink, and it is very nice and very comfortable. The dining room is fine, but my brother told me that it takes two hours for the food to be served. They have movies, exercise classes, and he uses their transportation to take him to his doctors' appointments.

I posted a review a couple of years back and I have to say that the Assistant Managers that I referred to as not being very helpful have moved on and that the Managers Eileen and Paul are exceptional Eileen is loving and caring and has great communication skills. My mom is still there at 95 and they are extremely accommodating. I feel very blessed to have found Scholl Canyon.

Scholl Canyon had a big center patio surrounded by the building where people can go out. The rooms were larger, and they had large, covered, private balconies -- which were very nice -- and it was also like having another room. They seem to have a lot of things scheduled; they have a lot of events. They have concerts and talks and all kinds of things. Back last year, I went to a Christmas thing over there, and it was very nice.

Scholl Canyon Estates was very nice. It was built in 2008, and it was very beautiful. Everybody was very helpful. The rooms were spacious and had a nice balcony in each room. The one-bedroom units that we saw all had windows with a sliding glass door going out to the balcony from the living room. They invited us for lunch, and we took the tour after. They did not serve pork or shellfish. They had vegetarian menu as well as meat, beef, chicken, turkey, and lamb, and the food was good. They had a game room, a library, and a chapel. Once a month, they took everybody to the casino. They had entertainment came in to perform there for their clients. I would definitely recommend it to others. However, if one had to have additional care, that was separate.

We were invited to several lunch and introductory meetings at Scholl Canyon States, and we liked what we saw. When we came we made comparisons to where we were and what they were offering for what we wanted. The place is clean, neat, and very well-maintained. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I have a two-bedroom and two-bath unit. It’s very spacious and has a good outlook. The windows face a busy street, and it’s very pleasant. I would say you would be satisfied 95% with the food. The dining room can accommodate approximately 100 people. There are many activities; they can be trips, doctor appointments, shopping, musical programs, games, and exercise programs. The community is close to our doctors, and that was a big factor in moving here.

I'm currently staying in Scholl Canyon Estates. This is a fairly new facility, about four or five years old. The structure is maintained very well. Overall, the operation is running smoothly. They also have great staff and people living here are very nice and friendly. It would be nice if they have a swimming pool and more variety in the meals that they serve; however, for people who are looking for an independent living with a little bit of assisted care help, I highly recommend this place.
