My sister has been at Pacific Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation for almost 2 years now. They work with me, and they do the best they can with the meals. They have singers come in, and they bring them out into this one big living room. At Christmas time, they'll have people come in and do Santa. They used to have somebody come in as a beautician for the ladies, but they don't have that anymore because of Covid. If you can't afford to be in there, they take Medicaid.

This place is horrible and that's in light words. My grandmother was a long time resident. I would watch residents begging for help and staff would walk by laughing while focusing on their personal cellphones. Residents would be served meals that I wouldn't even serve my worse enemy. My grandmothers personal belonging were stolen numerous times including her wedding ring. I reported it, and I was told that they would look into it. Till the day she died nothing was ever done to investigate that claims. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. I would go see my grandmother daily just because of lack of confidence that I had in the staff to take care of her. I wanted to transfer her to another facility and was given the run-a-round that I wasn't able too. This place is a joke and needs to be investigate by the state of California.

I wasn't so thrilled with Pacific Gardens. The rooms had either two or three residents. My mother was there short-term, but I also have friends that are there long-term and long-term is not where you want to be. It's kind of on the depressing side. The food wasn't all that good. They occasionally have staff members that are a little on the rude side. They brought people in to sing on certain days and they had a non-denominational reverend who would come in. They had a therapy room. They had reports saying she didn't do what was requested of her in therapy, but she did do everything she was asked to do. That aspect of them I'm not thrilled with, but there were a few staff members who were really good people. I rushed to find a place for her and I ended up with a place I didn't like. I got charged about $1,600 for her being there less than a week. Value wise, I wasn't pleased.

My mother chose Pacific Gardens, and she has been there for a year and a half now. She really loves it. She has a shared room, which she likes. The staff is great, and the food is great. She has no complaints. She plays the piano, she sings, and she plays bingo. She is pretty active. I would recommend them. I like best the friendly staff and residents. She is very satisfied.

My mom has been in Pacific Gardens for eight months. She’s living in a pretty good place, and they have pretty good food, but it’s far away from the family. The staff is detached, and they just do their job. The smell of urine is obvious in the hallways. They switched her room around, and now her room has no phone so I couldn’t call her and I have to give her a cell phone. The management is not responsive to the individuals.

My sister in law was Pacific Gardens after a triple bypass for rehab. Everybody on staff was wonderful. They all worked with her, and they did whatever it took to get something out of her. The rooms were big with two beds.

I thought Pacific Gardens was fabulous. My father loved all the girls. They were really good. He keeps telling us that if he doesn't get his way, he'll go back there and check himself in. Everybody, from the receptionist down to the bus people, knows you by name. I would recommend this facility to anybody.
